특성화고 학생들의 진로장벽이 진로준비행동에 미치는 영향

Abstract

효과적인 진로상담을 위해서는 개인이 올바른 진로선택 및 준비를 할 수 있도록 진로문제에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 구체적으로 규정할 필요가 있다. 특히 인문계 고등학생들에 비해 빠른 진로결정을 요구 받고 있는 특성화고 학생들이 진로목표 성취를 위해 실질적인 행동적 측면의 진로준비행동은 더욱 주목해야 할 부분이다. 본 연구는 특성화고 학생들의 진로준비행동을 방해하는 진로장벽 요인의 영향에 대한 상담적 개입전략을 살펴보기 위해 이 두 변인 간의 메카니즘을 살펴보고자 하였다. 문헌고찰을 통해 특성화고 학생들의 진로장벽이 낙관성과 셀프리더십을 매개로 하여 진로준비행동에 부적인 영향을 미칠 것이라 예상하였다. 이를 경험적으로 확인하기 위해 첫째, 진로장벽, 낙관성, 셀프리더십, 진로준비행동의 관계를 살펴보았다. 둘째, 진로장벽, 낙관성, 셀프리더십이 진로준비행동에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 마지막으로 진로장벽이 진로준비행동에 미치는 영향에 대한 낙관성과 셀프리더십의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 본 연구는 경기 지역에 소재하고 있는 특성화 고등학교에 재학 중인 남녀 학생 345명을 설문 대상으로 하였다. 설문지는 낙관성 척도, 셀프리더십 척도, 진로준비행동 척도, 진로장벽 척도로 구성되었고, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 20.0을 사용하여 분석하였다. 연구문제에 대한 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구변인들의 관계성을 파악하기 위해 상관분석을 실시한 결과, 진로장벽은 나머지 변인들과 유의한 부적 상관을 갖는다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 낙관성은 셀프리더십, 진로준비행동과 유의한 정적 상관을 가지며, 셀프리더십과 진로준비행동 또한 유의한 정적 상관을 가졌다. 둘째, 진로장벽, 낙관성, 셀프리더십이 진로준비행동에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 진로장벽은 진로준비행동에 유의한 부적 영향을 미치며 하위 변인 중 자기이해부족과 진로 및 직업정보의 부족이 높은 영향을 미치는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 반면, 낙관성과 셀프리더십은 진로준비행동에 유의한 정적 영향을 미쳤고 셀프리더십의 경우 하위 변인 중 행동중심적 전략이 가장 높은 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 진로장벽과 진로준비행동의 관계에 대한 낙관성과 셀프리더십의 매개효과를 검증하기 위해 Baron과 Kenny(1986)가 제안한 절차에 따라 위계적 중다회귀분석과 Preacher와 Hayes가 제시한 Sobel test를 실시하였다. 그 결과 진로장벽은 낙관성을 완전 매개로 하여 진로준비행동에 부적인 영향을 미치며, 셀프리더십은 진로장벽과 진로준비행동 관계를 부분 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 진로준비행동을 진로성취의 주요 변인으로 보고, 진로준비행동에 영향을 미치는 변인의 규명과 함께 그 관계성을 파악하였다. 이들 심리적 변인들 간의 관계를 명료화한 것은 효과적인 진로교육 및 진로상담을 위한 시사점을 제공한다.;The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the career barrier, optimism and self-leadership on the career preparation behavior among specialized high school students and tested the mediated effect of optimism and self-leadership on relations between them. For those purpose, a survey on the career barrier, optimism, self-leadership and career preparation behavior was conducted with 345 specialized high school male, female students in Gyeonggi Province. The collected data was analyzed as descriptive analysis, correlation analysis and multiple regression anylysis using SPSS 20.0. The result of this study can be summarized like this: First, the study examined relations among the career barrier, optimism, self-leadership and career preparation behavior and found significant negative correlations between the career barrier and other variables. The optimism had significant positive correlations with self-leadership and career preparation behavior and also the self-leadership had significant positive correlations with career praparation bahavior. Second, as to the effects of career barrier, optimism and self-leadership on career preparation behavior, career barrier had significant negative effect on career preparation behavior Specifically, it was found that among the sub-factors of career barrier, ‘shortage of self-understanding’ and ‘shortage of career/information of job’ had the most significant negative effect on career preparation behavior. While optimism and self-leadership had significant positive effect on career preparation behavior and among the sub-factors of self-leadership, ‘strategy of behavior’ had the most significant positive effect on career preparation behavior. Finally, as to optimism and self-leadership for the relationship between career barrier and career preparation behavior, optimism revealed a perfect mediation and self-leadership showed partial mediation. There is a need for the accumulation of researches to investigate the hidden factors that have effect on career process and grasp the causal relationships among the factors for specialized high school students experiencing different career process from academic high school students. Clarifying the relationships among career barrier, optimism, self-leadership and career preparation bahavior provides suggestions for effective career education and counseling.
