성인애착과 외로움의 관계

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effects of ambivalence over emotional expressiveness and internalized shame between adult attachment and loneliness. The participants were 247 adults in Seoul and capital area. They Completed questionnaires assessing adult attachment, loneliness, ambivalence over emotional expressiveness, and internalized shame. Collected data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and regression analysis by SPSS 18.0. To find out the mediating effects, testing procedures for mediating effects proposed by Baron and Kenny(1986) have been performed. In addition, the significance of individual indirect path has been verified using the Sobel test proposed by Preacher and Hayes(2004). The results of this study were as follows: Firstly, there were significant correlations among adult attachment, loneliness, ambivalence over emotional expressiveness, and internalized shame. Results of correlational analysis revealed that two dimensions of adult attachment (attachment anxiety and attachment avoidance) were positively correlated with loneliness, ambivalence over emotional expressiveness, and internalized shame. And ambivalence over emotional expressiveness and internalized shame were also positively correlated with loneliness. Secondly, ambivalence over emotional expressiveness partially mediated the relationship between two dimensions of adult attachment and loneliness. Thirdly, internalized shame partially mediated the relationship between two dimensions of adult attachment and loneliness. Based on these results, both ambivalence over emotional expressiveness and internalized shame partially mediated the relationship between two dimensions of adult attachment and loneliness. This results have made a significant contribution to a better understanding of adults with a high level of loneliness. Clinicians may guide clients with a high level of loneliness to reduce their ambivalence over emotional expressiveness and internalized shame.; 본 연구는 수도권에 거주 중인 성인 남녀 247명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 성인애착과 외로움, 정서표현갈등과 내면화된 수치심의 관계를 살펴보았다. 각 변수들 간의 관련성을 알아보기 위해 상관분석을 실시하였고, 성인애착과 외로움의 관계에서 정서표현갈등과 내면화된 수치심의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 각 변수 간 관계를 살펴본 결과, 모든 변수들 간에 유의미한 상관관계가 나타났다. 성인애착의 하위요인인 애착불안, 애착회피는 외로움, 정서표현갈등 및 내면화된 수치심 모두와 정적 상관이 확인되었고, 정서표현갈등과 내면화된 수치심도 외로움과 정적 상관을 보였다. 둘째, 성인애착과 외로움의 관계에서 정서표현갈등은 부분 매개하였다. 성인애착의 하위요인인 애착불안과 애착회피 모두 외로움에 이르는 과정에서 정서표현갈등을 부분적으로 매개하였다. 셋째, 성인애착과 외로움의 관계에서 내면화된 수치심은 부분 매개하였다. 성인애착의 하위요인인 애착불안과 애착회피 모두 외로움에 이르는 과정에서 내면화된 수치심이 부분적으로 매개효과를 보였다. 연구결과를 종합해보면, 성인애착과 외로움의 관계에서 정서표현갈등과 내면화된 수치심이 부분적으로 매개효과를 보인다는 것을 확인하였다. 성인의 외로움을 감소시키기 위해 정서표현에 대한 갈등과 내면화된 수치심을 줄이도록 돕는 것이 중요하다는 점을 시사한다. 이러한 결과는 외로움 수준이 높은 성인을 돕는 치료개입 전략에 활용할 수 있다.
