- Abstract
- It is fairly common place for native English speaking parents to read storybooks to their children at home. Reading extensively (ER) as a family can promote the habit of reading from a young age as well as expose children to different types of literature, and children develop their vocabulary and new language patterns along with reading comprehension abilities. (NCTE, 1992) In addition, Moon & Maeng (2012) state that storybooks used for teaching English in EFL can also develop students’ motivation and interests.
