철(Fe) 매염법으로 표현한 자연이미지

Abstract

현대인들은 하루가 다르게 진보하는 과학기술에 의해서 예전에는 상상할 수 없는 생활의 편리성과 물질적 풍요를 도시 속에서 누리게 되었다. 그렇지만 도시 속 사람들은 서로 경쟁을 하고 그것으로 인해 스트레스와 내면의 상처를 받게 된다. 이러한 경쟁사회에서 사람들은 마음의 안정과 정서적 환기를 자연 속에서 느끼고자 한다. 자연은 인간과 서로 밀접한 관계를 맺고 있다. 자연은 인간에게 많은 의미를 주며 많은 예술가들이 그것을 통해 영감을 얻고 표현해 낸다. 칸트는“예술가란 자연의 영감에 의하여 예술에 규칙을 주는 선척적인 심적 소질을 가지며 이것이 예술가의 역할이다”라고 하였다. 이 말처럼 자연은 인간에게 무한한 상상력과 의미를 부여하는 대상이 되며 예술적 영감의 원천이 된다. 본 연구자는 조형 활동을 통하여‘자연’이미지가 예술가에게 미적대상으로서 표현가치가 있는 것임을 다시한번 확인하면서 자연에 대해 연구자의 시각으로 이해하고 자연을 통해 느낀 감정을 다양한 방식으로 작품 표현을 한다. 구체적으로 본인의 작품 제작을 통해 다양한 자연의 표현방법에 대해 연구한다. 그 중 연구자의 작품 표현방식에 적합하다고 생각하는 철(Fe)매염법의 원리에 대해 알아보고 실험하여 독창적인 표현을 해보고자 한다. 이러한 연구를 통해 자연은 연구자에게 어떠한 감정을 주고 얼마나 가치가 있는 대상인지에 대해 새로운 인식을 하며 자기정체성을 확인 하고자 한다. 본 연구의 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자연은 인간과 어떻게 함께해왔으며, 과연 자연을 어떻게 이해해야 하는지 이론적 배경에 대해 알아보고, 자연을 다양한 방식으로 표현한 예술 작품을 중심으로 조사 연구하고자 한다. 둘째, 작품의 표현 방법과 기법에 관한 연구에서는 자연 이미지를 조형 작품으로 시각화하는 방법을 연구한다. 자연에 대한 효과적인 표현으로 이미지를 드로잉한 후 중첩의 조형원리를 이용하여 자연 이미지를 표현하고 중첩되면서 보여지는 색을 통해 조형성을 부각시켰다. 철(Fe)매염법은 크게 두가지로 나누어 연구해 보고자 한다. 첫 번째는 철 산화 프린팅 기법을 이용해 선매염하고 두 번째는 식물의 잎과 철(Fe)매염제를 이용해 후매염한다. 셋째, 표현 재료에 관한 연구에서는 철매염법에 적합한 섬유인‘실크(Silk)’와 질감이 상반되는 재료인‘비닐’을 사용하여 자연의 이미지를 표현한다. 위와 같은 연구를 바탕으로 나무의 구체적인 이미지에서 추상적인 이미지로 변화시키면서, 이론적인 연구와 표현기법을 토대로 연구 작품을 제작하고 분석하여 80호 크기의 총 8개 작품을 제작 분석하였다. 본 연구자에게‘철(Fe) 매염법을 통한 자연이미지’연구는 복잡한 현대에서 잠시나마 자연을 바라보며‘나’자신에 대해 되돌아보는 계기가 되었으며, 자연이미지를 이용해 환상의 공간을 나타내어 마음의 안정감과 휴식을 찾게 되었다. 또한 자연이 우리에게 얼마나 중요한 대상인지에 대해 알게 되었고 앞으로 다양한 자연 이미지와, 표현기법에 대한 연구를 통해 발전된 작품 활동을 수행해 나아가고자 한다.;Modern people, in rapidly developing science technology, can now enjoy unimaginable convenient life and material prosperity living in the city. However living in the city, they get stress and inner struggles while competing with each other. In this way, people in competitive society, they desire inner peace and solace in nature. Nature and Human being have inseparable relationship. Nature gives man many sources of meaning and artists get inspiration and express through this. Kant stated that, “"Genius is the talent (natural endowment) which gives the rule to art. Since talent, as an innate productive faculty of the artist, belongs itself to nature.”" As his words, nature is source of artistic inspiration for man having infinite imagination and meaning. The researcher would like to reassure that it's worth for artists to express image of nature also she understands the nature by her own perspective and expresses her feelings in artworks in various ways. Specifically, the researcher studies various techniques of expressing nature conducting artwork. The researcher would like to look into the (Fe)mordanting process which is adaptable to researcher's way of expression and conduct creative expression after experiments. According to this study, the researcher would like to assure self identity from what nature gives and how valuable object is to the researcher herself. Below is the context of the research. First, the researcher would like to study how human and nature have been together, how to understand nature and it's theoretical background and finally, the researcher is going to look into nature-focused artworks in various ways. Second, in a research of work expression method and technique, the researcher would like to study a way to visualize an image of nature into a work of art. After drawing an image through an effective expression of the nature, the researcher used an overlap of formative principle to express an image of nature and highlighted the formativeness with the color which emerged from overlap. (Fe)mordanting process is studied in two different ways. First method is premordanting technique, using iron oxidation printing process, the other is aftermodanting technique, using plants leaves and (Fe)mordanting process. Third, for a study of materials in expression, the researcher would like to express the image of nature using 'silk' which is suitable for (Fe)mordanting process and 'vinyl'- the conflicting texture to silk. Based on this research, I have transformed an image of tree from a concrete image into an abstract image, and on the basis of theoretical research and method of expression, I created and analyzed eight pieces of work which are 57 by 44 inches each. Processing this research 'Image of Nature using (Fe)mordanting process', it was a good chance for the researcher to look back on herself from complicated present times looking at the nature also to keep balanced and relaxed expressing illusionary space using image of nature. In addition, the researcher found the importance of nature and will continue to conduct a developed work activity studying various methods and techniques.
