현대 건축에 나타난 선적외피의 투시적 조형미를 응용한 패션디자인 연구

Abstract

우리가 살아가는 시대의 미술, 건축, 패션, 음악, 무용 등은 각각 개별적인 존재로 분리, 독립되어 있는 것이 아니라 장르간의 경계가 모호해져 서로 상호 연계하여 통합적인 조형 양식으로 존재 하면서 상호 보완적 관계를 유지하고 있다. 형태와 구조의 유사성을 지닌 건축과 패션은 더욱 긴밀한 상호 관계를 갖고 있다고 할 수 있다. 2000년 이후 패션은 인체의 제한된 공간을 넘어서 외부 공간까지 포함한 디자인과 표현, 공간의 왜곡, 입체적 텍스추어와 같이 보다 건축적 표현에 몰두하고 있으며 건축 역시 전통적인 경직된 표현양식을 넘어서 자유로운 사고를 바탕으로 유연한 표현양상을 보이고 있다. 건축과 패션의 소재는 평면적이거나 제한된 스케일, 다양한 물질이지만 인간의 신체와 건물의 공간이 입체적인 곳에서 완성이 된다는 공통적인 부분에서 시작이 된다. 공간적인 요소뿐 만 아니라 형태, 재질, 색채에 있어서도 유사점을 나타내며 과거의 기본적인 욕구충족을 벗어나서 미적이고 예술적인 측면을 강조하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 현대 건축의 다양한 선적외피 사례를 탐색하고 거기에 나타난 선적 조형성과 함께 투시의 조형미를 분석하여 패션디자인에 응용함으로써 패션디자인에 있어서 선적 장식미를 극대화하고 투시성이 지니는 다각적이고도 미적인 가능성을 제시하고자 함에 목적이 있다. 나아가 건축의 독특한 조형미와 패션디자인이 만남으로써 패션의 표현영역을 확대하고자 한다. 연구 내용 및 방법은 다음과 같다. 이론적 배경으로서는 문헌고찰을 통해 현대 건축 조형의 외피에 대한 일반적인 개념과 대표적인 건축 작품에 대해서 살펴보았다. 세계 각국의 선적인 외피특성을 지닌 건축물을 조명하고 다양한 형태와 표현방법을 조형성에 근거하여 비교 분석 하였다. 투시의 조형미는 투시의 개념과 원리를 정립하고 투시의 표현기법을 분류했다. 다각적인 투시의 특성을 지닌 사례를 패션디자인 분야에서 수집하여 그 미적 성격을 분석하였는데 첫째, 소재의 성분과 조직에 따른 투시, 둘째, 표현기법에 의한 투시를 조형적 성격 위주로 분석 정리하였다. 본 연구의 방법으로는 단행본, 학위논문, 정기 간행물 등을 통한 문헌 연구와 인터넷, 패션 정보 사이트를 통해 사례를 분석하는 실증적 연구 방법을 취한다. 첫째, 선행연구와 문헌고찰을 통하여 현대 건축 작품의 이론적 배경을 형성하고 있는 건축에서의 외피에 대한 일반적인 개념과 대표적인 건축 작품에 대해서 살펴본 후 현대 건축의 선적 외피 작품에서 보여지는 조형성을 분석한다. 둘째, 이론적 고찰을 토대로 분석한 현대 건축의 선적 조형적 특성을 투시의 조형미로 구현하는 작품을 제작한다. 모티프의 선적 조형성을 컷아웃 방법, 엮기 방법으로 표현하여 평면 혹은 입체적으로 구성한 작품 총 6벌을 제작, 제시한다. 마지막으로 위와 같은 연구들을 종합하여 요약과 결론을 이끌어낸다. 본 연구의 이론적 고찰을 통해 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 옷을 만드는 소재와 건물을 만드는 자재 자체는 평면적이지만, 건축과 패션은 환조적이고 사람의 몸과 건물의 공간이 인간의 스케일을 기본으로 하는 공통점을 갖고 있다. 둘째, 외피는 더 이상 장식적 수단이 아니라 현대 건축의 개념을 표현할 수 있는 적극적인 하나의 상(형태, 이미지)이다. 셋째, 현대 건축의 선적 외피 조형성은 직선, 곡선, 직선과 곡선의 혼합 조형으로 크게 나눌 수 있으며 각각의 특성들로 다양한 느낌을 전달한다. 현대 건축에 나타난 선적 외피의 투시적 조형미를 응용한 작품연구를 통해 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 외피특성에 있어서 직선조형은 패션디자인에 엄격한 건축적 질서미와 함께 규칙적 리듬감을 표출시킬 수 있었다. 둘째, 외피특성에 있어서 곡선조형은 패션디자인에 여성적이며 부드러운 율동미를 표출시킬 수 있었다. 셋째, 건축을 싸는 구조적 외피는 인체를 덮는 옷과 같은 개념을 지녀 건축 모티프의 적용이 용이함을 알 수 있었다. 나아가 이러한 점에서 건축조형과 패션디자인의 유사성을 발견할 수 있었다. 넷째, 선적 외피 이미지를 구현하기위해 컷아웃과 엮기 방식을 도입했고 이를 통해 투시의 조형미를 표현할 수 있었다. 투시의 조형미는 작품에 있어서 내부/외부의 공간감을 깊이 있게 연출해 줌을 알 수 있었다. 다섯째, 외피 이미지를 중첩시킴으로써 리듬감과 투시의 공간감을 극대화 할 수 있었다. 여섯째, 투시성은 빛의 조건과 관련되어 다각적으로 나타나므로 뚫린 부분을 어떠한 소재로 처리하는가에 따라 투시적 조형미가 각각 달리 나타남을 알 수 있었다. 일곱째, 선적외피의 표현 양상에 따라 패션디자인에 대한 응용범위가 무한함을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구는 건축조형의 선적 외피표현의 특징적인 표현을 투시될 수 있는 기법들로 패션에 접목하여 구조적인 조형의 가능성을 발견함과 동시에 패션 섬유 소재의 일반적인 개념을 벗어나 다양한 소재의 접목과 기법을 적용하여 새로운 소재로 재창조됨으로써 새로운 표현 재료로 전개하는데 의의가 있다. 아울러 본 연구를 통해 확인했던 건축과 패션의 공통분모를 토대로 현대 패션디자인의 다양한 표현방법과 소재개발에 대한 시도와 연구가 계속된다면 디자인의 표현영역이 크게 확대될 것으로 여긴다.;Ever since a year of 2000, the fashion industry has emphasized architectural expressions such as spatial distortion and three dimensional texture, beyond spatial limitation of the human body. Also, the architectural industry shows more flexible expressions based on ideas and minds that are not bound to its traditional expressions. Therefore, this study aims to maximize the beauty of curvilinear formativeness and reveal the multidimensional aesthetic potential of transparency by reviewing and analyzing of curvilinear formativeness and beauty of formativeness of transparency revealed on previous researches on this topic. Moreover, the objective of this study is to expand the boundary of expressions of the Fashion by integrating unique formativeness of the architecture and of the Fashion. Contents and methods of the study are as the following. As for its theoretical background, a general concept of the envelope in the modern architecture and representative architectural works are reviewed, and after evaluating structures with the envelope, having a curvillinear feature, all over the world, forms and expression methods of the envelope are compared and analyzed upon formativeness. For the beauty of formativeness of transparency, the concepts and principles of transparency are established and then, techniques for expressions of transparency are classified upon material, organization and techniques for expressions of transparency, while considering formative nature of transparency. For the study, literature review in which books, thesis, and periodical publication are reviewed and empirical study in which cases are analyzed through Internet and Website on fashion information are implemented. First, through literature review, general concepts of the envelope and representative construction works, consisting the theoretical background of modern architectural works, would be evaluated and then the formativeness, shown in curvilinear envelopes of the modern architecture would be analyzed. Second, based on results of these theoretical contemplation, a curvilinear formative feature of the modern architecture would be embodied into the beauty of formativeness of transparency. Total of 6 works in which the curvilinear formativeness of a motif is expressed in cut-out or weaving in order to present it in one dimension or three dimensions. For the last, results of the aforementioned reviews and analysis would be summarized and concluded. From a research on the beauty of transparent formativeness of the curvilinear envelope, the following results are inferred. First, from among features of the envelope, curvilinear formativeness can create a sense of periodical rhythm along with beauty of strict order of the architecture onto the fashion design. Second, from among feaetures of the envelope, curvilinear formativeness can add the beauty of feminine and smooth rhythm onto the fashion design. Third, since a structural envelope, covering a whole architectural structure, has the same concept as clothes covering the whole body, there is a similarity between architectural formative and fashion designs. Fourth, to realize an image of the curvilinear envelope, cut-out and weaving techniques were adopted, and by using these techniques, the beauty of transparency that allows the spatial impressions of the inside and the outside in depth. Fifth, a sense of rhythm and a sense of space can be maximized by overlapping images of the envelope. Sixth, since transparency can be presented in multi-dimensions while getting influenced by light, the beauty of transparent formativeness could be varied by a material used for an opening. Seventh, it is revealed that the range of applications of the envelope on a fashion design is infinite upon expressions of the curvilinear envelope. In this study, architectural techniques that allows representation of curvilinear expressions of the envelope are integrated into the Fashion, revealing a potential of the 3-dimensional formativeness and at the same time, creating a new material by adopting a variety of materials and technique beyond the general concept of a fashion fabric. There should be a follow-up study on a variety of expressions and development of materials for the modern fashion design based on the common factors between the architecture and the fashion that have been revealed in the study in order to expand the scope of expressions in fashion designs.
