세계시민의식 함양을 위한 미술·도덕과의 통합교과 프로그램 연구

Abstract

Because of the development of information and communications and transportation, modern society is characterized as globalization period that boundaries among the countries are collapsed and the world becomes one community. As the mutual dependence among the countries is deepened because of the globalization, global citizenship beyond the citizenship of individual country in the past is requested for peaceful coexistence and prosperity of global village. Global citizenship means the thought focusing on the whole earth and humanity by getting out of the narrow view of the world, focusing on own country in the globalization with deeply mutual dependence among the countries sand various cultures. Based on the awareness, it can be a concept aiming cooperation and peace, protecting variety and including the will of behavior for the peace and symbiosis of humanity and earth. Educational efforts are desperately requested to students living in this modern society for cultivating the global citizenship, so various discussions for it are conducted. Especially, the process of globalization necessarily requests the value of various cultures and pluralism in all of social sectors such as race, language, culture, education, etc, so it's necessary to prepare them. Therefore, understanding and embracement for the variety can be the start of global citizenship. It was supposed that educational efforts for cultivating the global citizenship is difficultly operated as a single subject and the purpose will be achieved more through the academical subject combination. Therefore, it expected that it will make a positive effect on the cultivation of students' global citizenship if teaching the contents treated in Ethics by combining with Art. Therefore, the purposes of this research are to select 'respect of global various cultures' as a subject so as to cultivate global citizenship and develop·apply combined subject program connecting Art and Ethics and cultivate global citizenship of learners in the sixth grade of elementary school through the verification of the effectiveness. To achieve it, this research designed developmental model of academic combined education course based on the web model of Forgaty and based on it, developed teaching guidance. For the next, the developed program was fulfilled total 7 times for experimental group; 27 students in the sixth grade of K elementary school located in Geomo-dong, Ansan-si, Gyeonggi-do. On the contrary, existing branch class was conducted for 27 students of control group for 7 times. Before the experimental measure, global citizenship test was conducted so as to verify homogeneity of two groups. As the result, it verified that two groups have same quality. And, among the results obtained by experimental measure, the collected materials which can be treated statistically were applied by matching sample t-test and independent sample t-test were conducted by SPSS win 12.0 statistical package program according to the research problem. For the practical results which cannot be analyzed statistically, the results were drawn by qualitative analysis. The results of analyzing this research are as follows. The first, pre·post differences of global citizenship by groups were analyzed. As the result, both of two groups showed higher score in post-test than pre-test for the score. However, experiential group showed significant differences statistically, but control group didn't show any significant differences statistically. The second, if comparing the results of analyzing pre·post differences by sub-scale of global citizenship between experimental group and control group, experimental group showed higher score of post-test than pre-test in all of sub-scales and showed significant differences statistically. On the contrary, in all of sub-scales, the score of post-test was higher than that of pre-test, but didn't show significant differences statistically. The third, pre·post differences of global citizenship were analyzed between experimental group and control group. As the result, experimental group was higher than control group. But, ‘interests and concerns in international problems’ and ‘participation in solving international problems’ which are sub-factors showed higher score in experimental group than control group, but didn't show significant differences statistically. The fourth, in practical outcomes, experimental group who took the class combining Art and Ethics under the subject of ‘respect of international various cultures’ received more excellent evaluation than control group in sub-sectors of practical evaluation, ‘subject expression’, ‘expression method', ‘formative factor and theory’, ‘expression materials and tools’. In conclusion, approach program of combining art and ethics in this research induced learners' interests. And, by achieving studying purpose through the in-depth approach to the value of the respect of international various cultures, it made positive effects on the cultivation of global citizenship. This research suggested the above positive direction for the effectiveness of global citizenship cultivation education in Art and has significances as the material. Also, it is significant because it verified educational effects through the approach combining Art and Ethics for the cultivation of global citizenship. In the future, various directions for approaching program combining Art and other subject for the cultivation of global citizenship with continuous researches and efforts for this field should be found and various programs should be developed so as to be applied in actual education fields.;현대사회는 정보통신, 교통의 발달로 국가 간의 경계가 허물어지고 세계가 하나의 공동체가 되는 세계화 시대로 특징지어진다. 세계화로 인해 국가 간의 상호 의존성이 깊어짐에 따라 지구촌의 평화로운 공존과 번영을 위해서는 과거 개별국가의 시민성을 넘어서는 세계시민의식이 요구된다. 세계시민의식은 국가 간의 깊은 상호의존성과 다양한 문화가 공존하는 세계화 속에서 자국을 중심으로 생각하고 판단하는 편협한 세계관에서 벗어나, 지구와 인류 전체를 중심으로 생각을 하는 것을 의미한다. 그러한 의식을 바탕으로 협동과 평화를 지향하고, 다양성을 존중하여 인류와 지구의 평화와 공생을 위해 행동할 수 있는 의지를 포괄하는 개념으로 볼 수 있다. 현대사회를 사는 학생들에게 이러한 세계시민의식을 함양을 위한 교육적 노력이 절실히 요구됨에 따라서 이에 대한 논의도 다양하게 이루어지고 있다. 특히 세계화의 과정은 필연적으로 다양한 문화의 가치 및 인종, 언어, 문화, 교육 등 사회의 각 부문에서 다원주의를 요구하기 때문에 이에 대한 준비가 필수적이다. 따라서 다양성에 대한 이해와 포용은 세계시민의식의 출발이라고 할 수 있다. 이러한 세계시민의식 함양을 위한 교육적 노력은 단일교과로서 운영하기에 힘들며 간 학문적인 교과통합을 통해 그 목적이 더욱 달성될 것이라고 가정하였다. 따라서 도덕과에서 다루는 내용을 미술과와 통합하여 지도한다면 학생들의 세계시민의식 함양에 긍정적인 효과가 있을 것으로 예상하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 세계시민의식을 함양하고자 ‘세계의 다양한 문화 존중’을 주제로 선정하여 미술과와 도덕과를 연계한 통합교과 프로그램을 개발·적용하고 그 실효성 검증을 통하여 초등학교 6학년 학습자의 세계시민의식을 함양하는 것에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 먼저 포가티의 거미줄 모형을 바탕으로 간 학문적 통합교육과정 개발 모형을 구안하고, 이를 바탕으로 수업지도안을 개발하였다. 다음으로 개발된 프로그램을 경기도 안산시 거모동에 소재한 K초등학교 6학년 학생 27명의 실험집단에게 총 7차시에 걸쳐 실시하였으며, 이와 다르게 통제집단에는 기존의 분과식 수업을 27명에게 총 7차시에 걸쳐 실시하였다. 실험 처치에 앞서 두 집단의 동질성을 검증하기 위하여 세계시민의식검사를 실시한 결과 동질집단임을 증명하였고, 실험 처치하여 얻은 결과 중 통계적 처리가 가능한 수집 자료는 SPSS win 12.0 통계 패키지 프로그램을 사용하여 연구문제에 따라 대응 표본 t검증, 독립 표본 t검증을 실시하였으며, 통계적으로 분석할 수 없는 실기 결과물은 질적 분석하여 결론을 도출하였다. 본 연구의 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 집단별 세계시민의식 사전·사후 차이 분석 결과는 점수에 있어서는 두 집단 모두 사전보다 사후가 더 높게 나타났으나 실험집단은 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보인 반면, 통제집단에서는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 둘째, 실험집단과 통제집단의 세계시민의식 하위척도별 사전·사후 차이 분석 결과를 비교해보면, 실험집단은 하위척도 모두에서 사전보다 사후가 높게 나타났으며 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 반면 통제집단은 하위척도 모두에서 사전보다 사후의 점수가 높기는 하나 통계적으로 유의미한 차이는 보이지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 실험집단과 통제집단 간의 세계시민의식 사전·사후 차이 분석 결과 실험집단이 통제집단보다 더 높게 나타났다. 그러나 하위 항목인 ‘세계적 문제에 대한 흥미와 관심’과 ‘세계 문제해결에 대한 참여 의식’은 실험집단이 통제집단보다 더 높은 점수를 보이긴 했으나 통계적으로 유의미한 차이는 보이지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 실기 결과물에 있어 ‘세계의 다양한 문화 존중’의 주제로 미술과와 도덕과를 통합한 수업을 받은 실험집단이 실기 평가의 하위영역인 ‘주제표현’, ‘표현방법’, ‘조형요소와 원리’, ‘표현재료와 용구’에서 통제집단보다 우수한 평가를 받았다. 결론적으로, 본 연구의 미술과와 도덕과의 통합적 접근 프로그램이 학습자의 흥미를 유발하고 세계의 다양한 문화 존중의 가치에 대한 깊이 있는 접근을 통해 학습목표를 달성함으로써 세계시민의식을 함양하는데 긍정적 영향을 미쳤다. 본 연구는 미술교과에서 세계시민의식 함양 교육의 실효성에 대하여 위와 같은 긍정적인 방향을 제시하였으며, 그 자료로서 의의를 갖는다. 또한 세계시민의식 함양을 위한 미술과와 도덕과의 통합적 접근을 통해 교육적 효과를 검증하였다는데 의의를 갖는다. 앞으로도 이 분야에 대한 지속적인 연구와 노력으로 세계시민의식 함양을 위한 미술과와 타 교과의 통합적 접근 프로그램에 대한 다양한 방향을 모색하여 실제적인 교육현장에서 활용될 수 있는 다양한 프로그램이 개발되어야 할 것이다.
