손가락 타력 평가를 위한 MIDI 표준치 연구

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 키보드와 MIDI 프로그램을 사용하여 일반인의 각 손가락 타력 표준치를 측정하는 것이다. 연구 대상은 서울과 충청지역 대학교에 재학 중인 학부 및 대학원생으로, 연령은 만 18세부터 30세(평균나이: 21.7세)였으며, 성별에 따라 남성 46명, 여성 46명으로 총 92명이었다. 연구 대상자의 나이와 악기 연주 교육 유무 및 지속 기간을 조사한 후, 연구 대상자에게 각 손가락의 최대강도로 키보드 건반을 상행, 하행으로 타건하도록 하였다. 이를 토대로 각 손가락의 타력 표준치를 MIDI 프로그램으로 추출하였다. 그 결과, 20대 일반인의 각 손가락 타력 수치가 최대값 대비 중간 이상이라는 것을 알 수 있었다. 모든 손가락에서 MIDI 프로그램의 최대 강도 127 중 77에서 96정도의 수치를 기록하였다. 또한 우세손과 비우세손 손가락 타력의 차이는 엄지를 제외한 모든 손가락에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 반면 성별에 따른 차이는 통계적으로 유의미하게 나타나지 않았고, 연구 대상자들의 악기 연주 경험도 비우세손의 약지를 제외한 모든 손가락에서 통계적으로 유의미하게 영향을 미치지 않았다. 본 연구는 상지 재활 환자의 타력과 비교할 수 있는 일반인의 손가락 타력 표준치를 제공하였다는 점에서 그 의의가 있다. 또한 키보드 연주로 측정한 MIDI 프로그램의 타력 정보(velocity)의 활용 가능성을 시사한다.;The purpose of this study was to obtain the normative data of finger velocity using the keyboard and the MIDI program. The data were collected from 46 male and 46 female university students, who were from 18 to 30 years old(M= 21.7), in Seoul and Chungcheong province. Demographic information of the participants, were collected including musical experiences and the duration of musical instrument playing. Participants were asked to strike the keys with the maximum intensity of each finger. The velocities of key striking were extracted by using the MIDI program. The result of this study showed the mean finger velocity of adults in 20’s was higher than medium velocity. They were between 77 to 96 MIDI velocity out of the maximum velocity, 127. In addition, the result demonstrated the statistically significant differences on key striking velocity of all fingers between dominant and non-dominant hands except the thumbs. In contrast, there were no differences in the velocity between men and women. Regarding the effect of musical background, only one significant difference was found in the ring finger of non-dominant hands. Therefore, the current study presented normative data of key striking velocity based on which patients in a rehabilitation setting are assessed. Findings in this study also imply the possibility of application of MIDI program and velocity information to rehabilitative intervention for finger and fine motor skills.
