Abstract
This is a study about 「woods of time」(2012), a dance work created based on Crossover collaborative work of fine arts and dance. The author studies about Crossover phenomena appeared not only on present dance art but also on various artistic genres and intends to suggest necessity of Crossover work in creating artistic works. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to explore understanding about collaborative work and its value, and to provide developmental view to cultivate another new artistic genre through collaborative work. Concept of Crossover which is a main theme in this study crosses existing genre or re-combine it going beyond concept of new creation. A goal of Crossover concept is to make a creature with new vision to imitate partial characteristic of an object or an image of an object.「woods of time」, a creative dance work based on Crossover concept consists of three parts. In the first part, a dancer recognizes his own self as a small existence which is only one tree in the woods, that is, as a passive self. The dancer lives in the woods as a passive existence. But after the dancer looked down on one's own space from higher place in the woods, the dancer experienced conflict with his own existence in the midst of the woods. In the second part, a dancer entered a new space leaving his original place. And the dancer expressed conflict between a new space and the original space in the woods. The third part dealt with a process where after the dancer recovered his own self through space in the woods(real space) and new space expressed in the first and second part, he returned to his own space. This work was made through Crossover collaborative work with fine arts. As 「Emotion 3」, installation art work was moved to a stage, these were expressed as follows - change in movement according to space setting and following change of ‘quality of movement’, and expression of dancer's emotion. In the first part, space behind up stage was set as space of woods and movement of trees was expressed so that character of a dancer called 'tree' was set in the first part. In the second part, space before down stage only was used so that appearance of passive self was expressed through low posture and characteristic of movement that sinks on earth, and inner conflict of complex self was expressed in movement of lower body through bouncy walk. In the third part, change from passive self to active self was expressed in change in 'quality of movement' in the same space. Differently from second part, by stretching hand toward heaven, heaven-oriented movement was expressed. And by raising posture of a dancer, appearance of lighter and active self was intended. In conclusion, it is thought that attempt of Crossover collaborative work in this 「woods of time」brought positive synergy effect between fine arts, dance, and each genre. The study results are as follows. First, this 「woods of time」has a meaning that there is a meeting between fine arts and dance through collaborative work with installation art work, 「Emotion 3」. Second, through installation art work, concrete image which cannot be embodied with movement of dance could be obtained through fine arts work. Third, 「Emotion 3」, installation art work could be included to moving artistic work which cannot be felt in general art exhibition. Thus, this 「woods of time」played a role of a work to suggest possibility of new stage production by creating moving object and a dancer to produce movement of object while filling elements which are deficient for each other through meeting of fine arts and dance. Accordingly, this study has a meaning in cultivating new artistic genre and suggesting a possibility of development of movement through meeting between artistic genres on the stage space, recognizing positive effects of Crossover collaborative work through this work, 「woods of time」.;본 연구는 크로스오버 협업작업의 미술과 무용의 크로스오버 협업작업을 바탕으로 창작한 작품 「시간의 숲」(2012)에 대한 연구이다.
