남녀 대학생의 성인애착과 이성관계만족도의 관계

Abstract

This study investigated the mediating effect of perspective taking and ambivalence over emotional expressiveness on the relationship between adult attachment dimensions(attachment anxiety and attachment avoidance) and romantic relationship satisfaction of university students. The participants were 386 undergraduates(190 males, 196 females) in Seoul. They completed questionnaires assessing adult attchment, perspective taking, ambivalence over emotional expressiveness, and romantic relationship satisfaction. Collected data were analyzed with independent t-test, Pearson's correlation, and hierarchical mutiple regression by SPSS 18.0 program. The results of this study were as follows. Firstly, the result of independent t-test revealed that there were significant gender differences in ambivalence over emotional expressiveness and satisfaction of romantic relationship. The male students reported higher level of ambivalence over emotional expressiveness and were more satisfied with their romantic relationship than female students. Secondly, results of correlational analysis revealed that both attachment anxiety and attachment avoidance were positively correlated with ambivalence over emotional expressiveness, but they were negatively correlated with perspective taking and romantic relationship satisfaction for both males and females. In addition, perspective taking and ambivalence over emotional expressiveness revealed a positive and negative correlation respectively with romantic relationship satisfaction for both males and females. Thirdly, results of the hierarchical multiple regression analysis revealed that perspective taking partially mediated the relationship between two adult attachment dimensions and romantic relationship satisfaction for both males and females. Lastly, another result of the hierarchical multiple regression analysis showed that ambivalence over emotional expressiveness partially mediated the association between two attachment dimensions and romantic relationship satisfaction for females. For males, ambivalence over emotional expressiveness partially mediated the association between attachment anxiety and romantic relationship satisfaction, but ambivalence over emotional expressiveness completely mediated the association between attachment avoidance and relationship satisfaction. Based on these results, clinicians may guide clients experiencing attachment-related problems to promote their perspective taking and to decrease their ambivalence over emotional expressiveness for their romantic relationships.;본 연구는 서울에 소재한 대학교에 재학 중인 남녀 대학생 386명을 대상으로 성별에 따라 성인애착의 두 차원인 애착불안 및 애착회피와 조망수용, 정서표현양가성, 이성관계만족도에 차이가 있는지 살펴보았다. 또한 남녀를 나누어 주요 변인들의 상관관계를 확인한 후, 조망수용과 정서표현양가성 각각이 성인애착과 이성관계만족도의 관계를 매개하는지 알아보았다. 본 연구의 결과는 아래와 같다. 첫째, 성별에 따른 애착불안, 애착회피, 조망수용, 정서표현양가성, 이성관계만족도에 차이가 있는지 알아본 결과, 정서표현양가성과 이성관계만족도에서 성별에 따른 차이가 유의하게 나타났고, 남자 대학생이 여자 대학생보다 더 높은 정서표현양가성과 이성관계만족도를 보고하였다. 둘째, 애착불안, 애착회피, 조망수용, 정서표현양가성, 이성관계만족도가 서로 어떠한 관계를 보이는지 확인하기 위해 남녀를 나누어 상관분석을 실시한 결과, 남성과 여성의 애착불안과 애착회피가 정서표현양가성과 유의한 정적상관을 나타냈고 조망수용 및 이성관계만족도와 유의한 부적상관을 보였다. 또한 조망수용은 이성관계만족도와 유의한 정적상관을 보였고, 정서표현양가성은 이성관계만족도와 유의한 부적상관을 나타냈다. 셋째, 성인애착의 두 차원과 이성관계만족도의 관계에서 조망수용의 매개효과를 알아보기 위해 성별을 나누어 위계적 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 남성과 여성 모두에 있어 성인애착의 두 차원과 이성관계만족도의 관계가 조망수용에 의해 부분적으로 매개되었다. 넷째, 성인애착의 두 차원과 이성관계만족도의 관계에서 정서표현양가성의 매개효과를 위계적 중다회귀분석을 통해 알아보았다. 그 결과, 여성에 있어 성인애착의 두 차원과 이성관계만족도의 관계가 정서표현양가성에 의해 부분적으로 매개되었다. 한편 남성의 애착불안과 이성관계만족도의 관계는 정서표현양가성에 의해 부분 매개되었고, 애착회피와 이성관계만족도의 관계는 완전 매개되었다. 연구 결과를 종합하자면 남성과 여성 모두에 있어 성인애착의 두 차원과 이성관계만족도의 관계가 조망수용과 정서표현양가성 각각에 의해 매개된다는 것을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과는 불안정한 애착을 보이는 성인 초기 대학생들이 만족스러운 이성관계를 경험하기 위해 파트너의 입장을 이해하는 능력을 기르고, 정서표현에 대한 갈등을 줄이도록 돕는 것이 중요하다는 점을 시사한다.
