지역 커뮤니티 활성화를 위한 예술창작공간 디자인 연구

Abstract

현대사회의 공업화와 도시화는 공동체의 약화와 개인화 현상을 가속화시켜 지역문화의 소멸, 근린 교류의 단절의 문제 등을 발생시켰다. 이러한 현상은 사회성과 소통에 대한 새로운 갈망을 야기시키고 있으며 그에 따라 커뮤니티에 관한 논의가 점차 부각되고 있다. 문화적 다양성이 증가하고 문화예술교육의 중요성이 증가함에 따라 지역문화시설에 대한 사회적 역할 또한 변화해 가고 있는데 기존의 창작지원이라는 단일 목적에 집중되었던 예술창작공간은 복합적인 프로그램의 수용과 지역사회에 열린 개방적 문화시설로서 자발적 참여를 이끌어 낼 수 있는 소통의 장으로서 요구되어 진다. 이에 본 연구는 현대사회에서 지역 커뮤니티의 변화하는 모습을 분석하고 구성요소들의 특성을 도출하였다. 그리고 이러한 구성요소의 특성을 커뮤니티 활성화 측면에서 개념이미지를 추론하는 근거로 삼았다. 디자인의 연구대상으로는 서울시에서 운영하고 있는 창작공간 중에서 지역 커뮤니티 활성화에 운영방향을 설정하고 있는 성북예술창작공간을 선정하여 디자인 연구를 진행하였으며 다음과 같은 결론을 내릴 수 있었다. 첫째, 문화적 다양성이 증가하고 문화예술교육의 중요성이 증가함에 따라 예술창작공간은 창작지원이라는 단일 목적을 넘어 다양한 사회적 요구를 수용할 필요성이 높아지고 있다. 이는 예술창작공간이 지역 내에서 커뮤니티를 활성화할 수 있는 유용한 도구로 활용되어 질 수 있으며 그를 위해서 물리적 경계와 공간적 구성, 참여적 운영의 측면에서의 공간을 차별화하여 창조적인 문화 환경을 형성할 것이다. 둘째, 공간의 표현방법에 있어서 개방감을 극대화할 수 있는 투명성 있는 소재의 사용과 void공간의 형성, 외부로 열린 내부공간의 확장 등은 공간의 쾌적함을 부여함과 동시에 내부로의 진입을 유도한다. 다양한 공간 프로그램의 적층된 공간에서의 분리는 독립성을 확보하고 소비완충 시설을 포함한 편의성은 머무는 시간을 지속하여 공적역할을 수행함에 있어서 활용도를 높여 커뮤니티-예술-휴게로 이어지는 프로그램의 결합을 가능하게 한다. 셋째, 다변화된 사회에서 공간 내에 유발되는 다양한 행태와 예측 불가능한 이벤트들은 디자이너에게 공간 이용자의 참여를 필요로 하게 하여 새로운 관계설정을 생성한다. 공간의 수용자이자 디자인의 참여자로서 이용자들의 역할은 공간에 대한 애착심을 상승시켜 공간의 활성화 및 유지·관리 차원으로의 영역을 포함할 수 있다. 이는 곧, 지역 커뮤니티 활성화에 기여할 수 있는 근본적인 해결책이며 또한 수용자와 공간의 상호관계에 대한 사고체계의 전환의 출발점이라 볼 수 있다. 위의 결론 도출을 위한 방법으로 본 연구는 예술창작공간의 디자인을 통해서 지역 커뮤니티를 활성화 할 수 있는 표현요소를 추출하고 공간에 적용해보았다. 공간의 개방감을 높여 지역사회로 열린 공간으로서의 이미지 구축과 공간프로그램의 다양성과 편의성을 통해 지역주민의 다양한 요구를 수용하는 시설로서 자발적 참여를 이끌어 낼 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 본 연구는 지역문화시설로써 예술창작공간의 역할이 창작 작업에서 나아가 지역의 커뮤니티를 활성화시키고 심미적 및 가치적으로 새로운 공간으로 자리매김 하기 위해 다각적인 디자인 연구를 기대한다.;Industrialization and urbanization in modern society have weakened community and accelerate personalization, which result in extinction of local culture and cutting off among neighborhood's interaction. These phenomenon bring about new longings for better societies and communions. So, discussion about them is magnified accordingly. As there are rises of cultural diversity and importance of art education, roles of local community facilities change. Cultural complexes once used to be the places for only supporting space, but they now are required to be communication centers attracting voluntary participation as open cultural establishments. The study analyzed of local communities' change and drew characteristics of composition. These are the foundation of inferring image concept, in terms of vitalizing each community. The research target was Seongbok art space that specialized in residential participation and sharing through art. Thus, I come to conclusions as follows: Firstly, art spaces should meet various social needs, due to growth of cultural diversity and culture education. Their role was only to provide support creative spaces for artists, but it is developed not only to integrate various cultural needs and promotes creative spaces offering cultural enjoyment but also allows artistic participation from citizens. Secondly, art spaces should give comfortable spaces and attract residential participation by utilizing transparent materials for maximum openness, installing void space and expanding inner space to outer one. Proper allocating section and space in accordance with separation and convenience make it possible for participants to stay longer, which enables each program to be combined as one exhibition - leisure - community - again leisure. Thirdly, diverse activities and unpredictable events request more of participation from citizens. Residents feel affinity by playing roles as participants and customer in these areas. It is both the fundamental solution to contribute to invigorate local community, and the point of departure in which a complete change in attitude happens between the space and participants. Eventually, this study is about the method of how form of design in the art space can contribute to revitalization of our community. Engraved as open space facilities by improving sense of openness, art spaces attract more of voluntary participations. Therefore, it is significantly required that multilateral researches on expression of interior designs for better activation of space.
