레이저 컷팅 가공기법을 이용한 의상디자인 연구

Abstract

현대사회의 급속한 경제성장에 의한 소비 생활 수준의 향상과 개성화되어가는 생활문화의 변화는 의상의 역할을 단순한 기능적 역할뿐 아니라 개인의 독특한 개성표현을 위한 수단으로 새롭게 인식시키고 있다. 소비자의 생활양식은 고급화, 다양화, 개성화 위주로 변화되고 있으며, 의상은 정신적 심리적 가치를 지닌 자기표현의 역할로써 그 개념이 확대되고 있다. 이렇듯 오늘날 패션산업이 독창적이고 개성화를 지향하는 감각산업으로 대두되면서 디자인의 다양성 못지않게 소재의 다양성과 중요성이 강조되고 있는데, 기술혁신을 통한 패션 신소재 개발이나 신가공법의 발달은 과거의 불가능한 감각표현을 가능하게 하였으며, 이러한 경향은 독특한 소재의 응용 및 개발과 함께 지속되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 꽃의 여성스럽고 고급스러운 이미지를 현대 흐름에 맞게 디자인하기 위하여 꽃 모티브 문양의 개발과 새로운 소재 표현 기법을 시도하였다. 또한 현재 다양한 분야에서 이용되고 있는 레이저 컷팅 가공을 현대 의상에 도입함으로써 레이저 컷팅 가공의 독창적 재질감을 효과적으로 활용할 수 있는 가능성과 의상을 디자인하는데 있어서 하나의 개성 있는 기법으로 실용화되고 발전될 수 있는 방향을 제시하여, 패션상품의 부가가치를 높이는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 절차로 이론적 고찰을 통해 레이저의 개념과 특징 및 응용분야에 대하여 알아보고, 레이저 가공기술의 발전과정과 현재 우리나라에 도입되어 있는 섬유용 레이저 컷팅기를 중심으로 그 특징 및 가공방법을 조사하였으며, 레이저 컷팅을 이용한 현대 의상디자인 사례를 살펴보았다. 레이저 컷팅 가공을 표현하는데 있어서는 꽃의 조형성을 분석하여 꽃 모티브 문양을 활용하였고, 꽃을 이용한 다양한 현대 의상디자인 사례를 살펴보았다. 이와 같은 절차를 통해 총 8벌의 작품을 제작하였고, 레이저 컷팅 가공의 표현기법 중 컷 아웃(Cut-out)기법과 새겨넣기(Engrave)기법을 이용하였다. 이러한 연구과정을 통하여 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 레이저가공에 대한 고찰을 통하여 레이저 가공의 개념과 가공방법을 이해하고, 그 적용분야를 조사함으로써 레이저 가공이 고성장, 고부가 가치를 지닌 산업으로 다양한 분야에서 사용되고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 둘째, 국내 레이저 컷팅 가공업체를 견학하는 과정에서 레이저 가공은 대량생산보다는 다양한 주문형 생산방식이 요구되는 산업으로서, 패션의 다품종 소량생산체계에 적합하고 따라서 다양한 아이디어와 이를 효과적으로 연결시킬 수 있는 네트워크의 구축이 중요한 사업임을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 작품을 제작하는 과정에서 레이저 가공이 다양한 소재에 독특한 표면장식효과를 나타낼 수 있으며, 정교하고 섬세한 프린트를 자유롭게 할 수 있다는 큰 장점을 가지고 있기 때문에 고부가가치부여의 가능성을 제시할 수 있었다. 넷째, 작품의 모티브인 꽃의 조형적 요소를 선, 형태, 색채로 분석하여 꽃 모티브 문양으로 재구성함으로써 무한한 디자인 창출의 가능성을 제시하였고, 꽃의 고급스럽고 여성적인 이미지를 레이저 컷팅 가공을 이용하여 의상에 도입함으로써 독특한 투시기법과 입체적이고 부조적인 재질감을 표현할 수 있었다. 본 연구에서는 레이저 컷팅 가공의 다양한 표현방법을 소개하여 의상에 새로운 소재 표현기법을 시도하였다. 앞으로도 이러한 레이저 컷팅 가공을 이용한 소재 표현기법의 다양한 시도가 가능하다고 보며 따라서 본 연구가 현재 다양하게 이용되고 있는 레이저를 산업용 제품을 생산하는데 그치는 것이 아니라 예술적인 측면에서도 활용할 수 있는 가능성을 제시하고, 의상을 디자인하는데 있어서 창의적인 표현의 확대를 위한 계기가 되었으면 한다. ;In the 21st century, design has attempted newer and more unique style of expression than any time in the past, and variety and significance of materials as well as diversity of design has been emphasized as fashion design is rising as a sensory industry. Accordingly, the demand for the new and unique style of expression spotlights the importance of materials especially in expressing formative beauty of art. This trend is continued, reflecting the formatives of a style of art in addition to application, development, and creation of unique materials harmonized with the periodic spirit of designers. In the modern fashion, designer's original will, unrestricted expression, various characters are affluently harmonized and expressed, and the sense can be also expressed owing to development of new fashion materials by technological innovation or development of new processing techniques though it could not be expressed in the past. These high-tech technologies created new beauty than cannot be imagined until now, and it was in virtue of materials greatly. Fashion materials have infinite potentialities of creation and development from development of functional new material to various handicraft expressions with unique texture. Therefore, this study was attempted to examine fashion design using the laser cutting processing available of expressing the embossed texture with a three-dimensional effect and the dynamic quality of material on the basis of the existing plain material. This study is to propose a possibility to utilize the original quality of material in laser cutting processing effectively and a direction to practically use and develop the laser cutting processing as a unique technique in designing clothes, and to enhance the added value of fashion goods by introducing the laser cutting processing currently used in various fields to the modern clothes. As research procedures, the concept, features, and applied fields of laser were examined with theoretical review, and development procedure of laser processing technology as well as features and processing method focused on fabric laser cutting machine currently used in Korea were researched. Then, the fashion design using laser cutting was examined. To express laser cutting, formativeness of flower was analyzed and utilized as a motive and modern fashion design using flower was researched. On the basis of this theoretical procedure, total 8 works were produced by using Cut-out and Engrave technique among expression techniques in laser cutting processing. The findings of this study are as follows. First, the concept of the laser processing and processing method were understood by considering the laser processing and it was recognized that the laser processing is a high-growth and value added industry and has been used in various fields through review of its applied fields. Second, with making a study visit to a domestic laser cutting processing company and producing works, the author could propose a possibility to give highly added value because laser processing makes unique surface decorative effect for various materials and allows elaborate and delicate printing freely. Third, laser processing requires various on-demand production methods rather than mass production and the laser processing is suitable for lean production system such as fashion. Therefore, it was recognized that the laser processing requires building of network to link various ideas effectively. Fourth, gorgeous and feminine image of flower were reconstructed by analyzing formative elements of flower as a motive of works by line, form, and color, and an infinite possibility to create design was proposed. In this study, the author proposed that the currently and widely used laser do not just produce industrial products but has also a possibility to be utilized in artistic fields. This study was attempted to introduce various expression techniques of laser cutting processing and apply new expression technique of material to clothes. In future, expression technique of material using laser-cutting processing will be attempted variously. This study is expected to be an opportunity for extending creative expression.
