경기용 라틴 아메리칸 댄스 의상디자인 연구

Abstract

Generally, Fashion pursues just two different values simultaneously: functional aspect and aesthetic aspect. In accordance with the purpose of fashion, it can be either sports wear with emphasized functional aspect or art-to-wear with emphasized aesthetic aspect. However, it could not completely rule out two different values both functional aspect and aesthetic aspect. From this point of view, dance costume have specific characteristics to be sufficient above two different values. Between them, it is necessary to study individual and sensuous dance costume with more thorough consideration because of its fierce and dynamic movement; Latin- American dance, one of the dance sports, have grown rapidly into favor in 20-30 young generation lately. Therefore, this researcher study on the base of the history and movement of Latin- American dance costume. Specially, this studying focus on studying pattern which is demanded for tournament clothes, then adapted ornament factors 'fringe & tassel ornament' for effective movement of dance costume, and purposed to create various design. By studying method, the researcher study the history of Latin- American dance and focus on the molding characteristics of dance costume through literature and internet, then analyze competitive dance performance of many generations and dance sports tournament for effective expressing of Latin-American dance costume through several different internet flash data. The researcher inquire into the based on the above information as follows: characteristics of the Latin-American dance costume, consideration about design parts, and dance, specially thinking about the problems of pattern because of big motions, one of its own characteristics, also thinking about mutual harmony with male and female clothes as couple dance. Also, the minor of this studying ‘fringe & tassel ornament' have been recognized as effective factors in design of Latin-American dance costume, researched about ideal and kinds etc through literature. I also study various forms and application bounds of fringe & tassel ornament in the world wide, and molding characteristics and examples of fringe & tassel ornament in the modern fashion through pictures and internet data. Eight works, which is added ornamentation of finge & tassel ornament in the functional aspect of dance clothes are produced based on the above theoretic survey. The results of this study are as follows; First, tournament Latin- American dance costume should be made by light and good spandex fabrics for fierce movement of dance. It can be had function which is emphasized various movements with using active line. It can be also adapted peculiar modeling, no adapted widely in the formal wear in the modern fashion, and expressed individuality and originality Second, man's dance costume have not been treated important parts, and they are also a little standardization in the history of dance costume. Therefore, the researcher gives them the same value with woman's dance costume; a slacks have considered function and shirts also have ornamented partly Third, the fringe& tassel ornament has been expressed as national and natural value historically and used part of costume or body for purpose of emphasis. It is also effective to expand of molding effect and bring on rhythm visually. Fourth, the fringe& tassel ornament is used in the Latin-American dance costume and is adapted with visual effect not only ornament effect but also expand of dynamic movement. In this study, I examined fabrics, and silhouettes of Latin- American dance costume, effective ornament technique of fringe & tassel ornament, then apply them to dance costume. Therefore, it is shown difference between dance cloth of existing and present, and presented possible to grope for functional and high-fashion design of dance costume.

;의상은 일반적으로 기능적인 면과 심미적인 면의 두 가지 가치를 동시에 추구한다. 의상의 목적에 따라서는 기능적인 면을 강조한 스포츠 웨어나 심미적인 면을 강조한 예술 의상과 같은 영역이 존재하지만, 이 역시도 실용성과 장식성이라고 하는 두 측면을 완전히 배제할 수는 없다. 이러한 면에서 생각해 볼 때 댄스의상은 이 두 가치를 최대한 충족시켜야 하는 특성을 지니고 있으며, 그 중에서도 최근 2-30대 젊은층에게 폭발적 인기를 누리고 있는 댄스스포츠의 한 부문인 라틴아메리칸 댄스는 격렬하고 다이나믹한 동작으로 인해 그 소재와 패턴에 있어 더욱 철저한 기능상의 고려가 동반되어야 함은 물론, 현재 국내에서 생산되는 의상들과는 차별화된, 고급화된 독창적이고 감각적인 디자인의 연구가 필수적이다. 이에 본 연구는 라틴아메리칸 댄스 의상에 관한 역사와 동작상의 특성에 관한 분석을 바탕으로 특히 경기용 의상에 요구되는 패턴상의 연구에 중점을 두었고 이에 술장식 이라는 장식적인 요소를 도입하여 댄스 의상에 움직임의 효과를 최대한 부여하고 공간적 영역을 확대하는 조형적인 실루엣을 창출하며 그 소재와 제작 기법 면에 있어 다양한 방법의 연구를 통하여 라틴아메리칸 댄스 의상에 효과적인 디자인 요소로 활용을 모색하고 창의적인 디자인을 제안하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구방법으로써 라틴아메리칸 댄스의 역사와 그 의상에 있어서의 기능적, 조형적 특성을 중심으로 문헌과 인터넷 자료 등을 통하여 알아보았으며 라틴아메리칸 댄스 의상의 효과적인 표현의 연구를 위해 문헌과 사진자료, 역대 댄스 경연대회와 댄스스포츠 경기대회의 인터넷 동영상 자료 등을 분석하여 이를 토대로 라틴 아메리칸 댄스 의상의 특성에 따른 디자인상의 고려해야 할 부분과, 댄스, 특히 움직임이 극도로 크고 많은 라틴 댄스 동작을 염두에 둔 패턴상의 문제, 또 커플댄스라는 특성상의 남, 녀 의상의 상호조화에 관해 고찰하였다. 또, 본 연구의 부제인 술장식이 라틴댄스 의상 디자인에 있어 효과적인 시각적 요소로 활용될 수 있다는 점을 인식하고 이에 대한 개념과 역사, 종류 등을 문헌자료를 통해 알아보았으며, 세계 각국에서 널리 쓰여 오고 있는 술장식의 다양한 형태와 활용범위, 특히, 라틴아메리칸 댄스 의상에 도입된 술장식의 사례와 조형적 특성들에 대해서도 사진자료와 인터넷 자료 등을 통해 살펴보았다. 이를 토대로 댄스의상의 기능적 측면을 고려하고 이에 술장식의 장식성과 움직임의 효과를 부가하여 총8점의 작품을 제작하였고 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 경기용 라틴아메리칸 댄스 의상은 고난도의 격렬한 동작을 수행하는데 있어 무리가 없도록 기능성을 고려한 소재와 패턴을 이용한 디자인을 통해 동작에 최대한의 자율성을 보장하고, 나아가서는 동작에서 강조되는 인체의 미를 극대화할 수 있었다. 둘째, 라틴 아메리칸 댄스 의상은 춤이라는 예술적 측면을 표현하는 요소로서, 춤 동작의 독특한 미와 역동적 이미지를 창출할 수 있는 조형적인 라인을 사용하여 동작을 다양한 형태로 강조할 수 있는 역할을 하였다. 셋째, 기존의 라틴아메리칸 댄스 의상에서 중요하게 다루어지지 않고 다소 획일적인 남성의 의상에 있어서 기능성을 최대한 고려한 슬랙스와 장식적인 요소를 일부 가미한 셔츠를 통해 남성 댄스의상에 여성복과 동일한 가치를 부여하였고, 남, 녀 의상에 통일된 요소를 부분적으로 적용하여 커플 의상으로서의 조화를 추구하였다. 넷째, 술장식은 역사적으로 민속적이고 자연적인 가치를 표출해 왔고 현대에 와서는 이와 더불어 의상의 일부분이나 신체의 일부분을 강조하고 아름다움을 추구하는 장식적 목적으로 활용되고 있으며 이는 의상에 있어 조형적 효과를 확대시키고 시각적으로 리듬감과 율동감을 불러 일으키는데 효과적이었다. 다섯째, 술장식은 라틴아메리칸 댄스 의상에 활용되어 장식적 효과와 함께 동적인 움직임을 확대하는 시각적 효과에 있어 적합하였다. 본 연구에서는 라틴아메리칸 댄스 의상의 기능적 패턴, 조형적 실루엣과 함께 술장식 이라는 효과적인 장식적 기법에 관해 연구하고 이를 댄스 의상에 도입하여 동작에 따라 달라지는 가변적이고 다채로운 실루엣과의 연관성을 바탕으로 기존의 라틴아메리칸 댄스 의상과는 차별화 되는 기능적이면서도 고급화된 디자인을 모색할 수 있는 가능성을 제시하였다.
