다기능성 복식디자인 연구

Abstract

The functions of clothing have changed over time, in response to people's needs and in a reasonable way. As our modern time was ushered in, people came to require the clothing with complicated and high-dimensional functions and decorative and tasteful expressions rather than those with primary functions. Accordingly, the categories of the multi-functional clothing of our modern time have been expanding as people require newer and differential clothing in the rapidly changing society. The potential of the multi-functional clothing may be unlimited owing to expanding fashion expressions and developing new and subsidiary materials. The conventional multi-functional clothing were various active sportswears, industrial uniforms, military uniforms and other special wears designed to support a variety of human activities. With such basic conceptions in mind, this study was aimed at designing and producing the clothing combining various functional principles with clothing to improve life quality by expressing new ways of expression using the fastening systems, and thereby, expanding the reasonable and new expressions and increasing the added value of clothing. To this end, the literature regarding the multi-functional clothing was extensively reviewed to review its concepts, origins and backgrounds, characteristics, etc., and thereupon, records and image data about themwere analyzed as a case study. In addition, the literature about the fastening systems was reviewed and thereupon, the cases of them were analyzed based on the literature and image data. Based on the above theoretical reviews, a total of 9 multi-functional clothing works were designed and produced. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; First, the multi-functional clothing can be varied in terms of forms, silhouettes, details and specific items, while various aesthetic effects be created, to respond to modern people's complicated and diverse needs. In short, multi-functional clothing can be competitive in the markets. Second, the multi-functional clothing can be varied also in terms of length, width, position of details, attachment/detachment, etc., according to wearers' needs. It was confirmed through this study that the multi-functional clothing could depart from the conventional clothing concept to render a variety of styles or accommodate the concept of "participation". Third, the fastening systems serve the multi-functional clothing, while allowing for a variety of expressions. In addition, the fasteners for separate parts may have some effect of texture depending on their materials, and furthermore, create some visual or formal effects depending on their colors or materials or their combinations. Fourth, the material neopren can express the reversibles well when bonded appropriately. Moreover, the endurable material has the advantage that fasteners may not well be deformed when manipulatedand that no finish is required owing to effective inseam work. In short, the new material seems to be effective in expressing the multi-functional clothing.;의복의 기능은 시대가 변화함에 따라 사람들의 요구에 부응하면서 보다 합리적으로 변화해왔다. 현대로 올수록 사람들은 일차적인 의복의 기능보다는 장식적이고 개인의 취향을 잘 표현할 수 있으면서도 특정한 기능을 수행하는 복합적이고 고차원적인 기능의 의복을 요구하고 있다. 따라서 현대의 다기능 의복들은 급변하는 사회 속에서 더욱 새롭고 차별화된 것을 원하는 사람들의 욕구에 따라 그 범주가 확대되고 있다. 다기능성 복식은 패션 표현 영역의 확대와 신소재, 부자재의 발달로 인해 그 개발 범주가 무궁무진하나 기존의 다기능성 의복은 다양한 인간의활동을 지원하기 위한 각종 액티브 스포츠 웨어, 산업복, 군복 등과 같은 특수복의 개념에서 벗어나지 못한 경우가 대부분이었다. 이에 본 연구는 일상생활에 있어서 다각도의 기능적 원리가 의복과 결부되어 삶의 질을 향상시키는 의복을 디자인하고 제작하는데 목적이 있으며 패스닝 시스템을 응용한 새로운 표현방법을 제시하고자 한다. 나아가 복식에 있어서 합리적이고 새로운 표현 영역의 확대와 함께 경쟁력 있는 부가가치를 부여하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 내용과 방법은 이론적 연구로서 다기능성 복식에 대해 문헌을 토대로 복식사적으로 고찰하여 그 개념과 기원, 출현시기를 살펴보고 특성에 대해 정리하였으며, 현대 복식에서 다기능성 의복의 사례가 되는 작품을 문헌과 실물 자료사진을 토대로 제시하고 유형별 분석을 하였다.또한 본 연구의 작품제작에 기본이 되는 패스닝 시스템에 대해 문헌을 토대로 한 이론적 고찰과 현대 복식에 적용된 사례를 문헌과 실물 자료사진을 토대로 수집하여 분석하였다. 상기의 연구를 토대로, 패스닝 시스템을 이용한 다기능성 복식을 디자인해 총 8점의 작품을 제작하였고 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 다기능성 복식은 형태와 실루엣, 디테일의 변화 또는 개별적 아이템으로의 변화가 가능하여 미적 측면에서 여러 벌의 효과를 창출할 수 있으므로 현대인의 복잡하고 다양한 욕구에 부응할 수 있어 이것이 바로 시장에서 경쟁요소가 될 수 있는 가능성을 확인하였다. 둘째, 다기능성 복식은 길이와 폭, 디테일의 위치, 착탈 여부 등의 변화가 가능하며 이는 착용자의 의지에 따라 변화시킬 수 있으므로 기존의 복식의 개념에서 벗어나 다양한 스타일을 직접 연출할 수 있는 "참여"개념의 복식임을 확인할 수 있었다. 셋째, 패스닝 시스템은 다기능성 복식이 기능을 수행하는 데에 있어 조작에 용이성을 주며 각 패스너에 따라 다양한 표현이 가능하였다. 또한 분리된 부분에 보여지는 패스너는 그 종류에 따라 재질적 효과를 줄 수 있을뿐 아니라 사용된 패스너의 색도 소재와 배색되어 조형적인 시각적 효과가 발생함을 알 수 있었다. 넷째, 네오플렌 소재는 본딩 처리로 리버시블의 특성을 잘 표현할 수 있었으며 내구성이 뛰어나 패스너의 조작시 형태가 변형되지 않는다는 장점과 불필요한 시접 정리로 인한 마감이 필요 없으므로 다기능성 복식의 표현에 적합하였다.
