패각(貝殼)의 조형성을 응용한 복식디자인

Abstract

The nature has the perfection beyond human ability and the infinite beautiful order. The desire for order is nitrinsic characteristic of human and human being has observed the nature in the formative point and searched the characteristic of its pattern and its orderliness. Designers pursuing the new visual inspiration continously obtain much inspiration by studying the various formative factor and aesthetic order of nature. The nature has been applied diversely as the motive of design changing its expressive pattern to fashion design which takes the human body as the medium of art expression. In this research, the formative factor of a shell in the patterns of nature having the rich touch and the change of rhythm of line and its repetition was analyzed and selected as the motive of a work and with this base the shell image was expressed with art fabric united slash technique and shirring technique. The purpose of this research is to represent the material and shillouette of new fashion design by examining the magnification of expressed image of shell and the intrinsic beauty of nature positively and attempting the possibility which can expresses the visual effect of surface of fashion and its pattern. In the content and method of this research, as its theoretical background the common characteristic and formative nature of a shell was examined and the manufactures and fashion design according to the expressive pattern of formative factor of shell were collected as reference work and examined and sinthesized for the application of this. And also, for the effective expression of a shell the conception and art fabric the conception which is proper for the fashion expression were investigated and its characteristic was analyzed through the references and collected photographies of works. On the basis of this, the 8 works introducing the unique expression of shell touch and its pattern to fashion design by art fabric united the slash technique and shirring technique were manufactured. The sinthesis of results of this research is as follows : First, it was found that the formative characteristic of a shell is proper for the expression of the tecture of cloth and fashion shillouette as the rich touch and the repetition with various of linear rhythm is composed organically. Second, the expression pattern shown in the process of examination of the work applied with formative nature of a shell was reappeared and applied in the plane dimension usually and the formative recognition of three dimensional surface effect of fashion material was not raised. Third, the unique expression method of slash technique united with shirring technique could pursue the independent formative nature of fashion expression through art fabric of recomposition of visual image of a shell in clothing fashion. Fourth, the gradational change or similar or opposit colors by dyeing and its contrast of brightness and color could compose theree dimensional expression of art fabric and space feeling of its surface effectively. In this research, as the only the shell among natural creatures was studied because of lack of relievable surface effect in the process of application of natural formative property to fashion design, the various study of art fabric and shillouette with various application of natural material should be carried out further. And though this research was limited to hand-craft technique, the research of technique for theree dimensional surface treatment of art fabric which can be produced in large amount should be carried out.;자연은 인간의 능력을 초월하는 완벽성과 무한한 미적 질서를 갖고 있다. 질서에 대한 욕망은 인간의 근본적인 특징이며, 인간은 조형적인 관점에서 자연을 관찰하고 형태의 특성과 법칙성에 관하여 탐색하여 왔다. 새로운 시각적 영감을 끊임없이 추구하는 디자이너들은 자연에서 발췌한 다양한 조형요소 및 미적 질서를 연구함으로써 많은 영감을 얻을 수 있었다. 인체를 예술표현의 매개체로 삼는 복식디자인에 있어서도 자연은 디자인의 모티브로서 표현양상을 달리하면서 다양하게 응용되어왔다. 이에 본 연구는 자연의 형태 중 풍부한 질감과 선적인 리듬의 변화와 반복성을 가지고 있는 패각(貝殼)의 조형적인 요소를 분석하여 작품의 모티브로 선택하고 그것을 바탕으로 슬래쉬기법과 셔링기법을 결합한 아트 패브릭(Art Fabric)을 이용하여 패각의 이미지를 표현하였다. 패각이 갖는 표현 이미지의 확대와 자연미의 본질을 적극적으로 탐구하고 복식의 시각적 표면효과 및 형태에 대한 표현의 가능성을 시도함으로써 새로운 복식디자인의 소재 및 실루엣을 제안함에 연구의 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 내용 및 방법은 이론적 배경으로서 패각의 일반적 특징 및 조형성을 알아 보았고 이를 응용하기 위하여 패각의 조형적 요소의 표현양상에 따른 제품 및 복식디자인을 참고작품으로 표집하여 종합검토하였다. 또한 패각의 이미지를 효과적으로 응용하기 이용하여 복식소재로서 아트 패브릭에 대한 개념과 현대복식디자인에 응용된 특징을 문헌 및 자료사진으로 표집된 작품들을 통해서 알아 보았다. 이를 토대로 슬래쉬기법과 셔링기법을 결합한 아트 패브릭을 이용하여 패각에 대한 독특한 질감표현 및 형태를 복식에 도입한 작품 총 8점을 제작하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 종합하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 패각의 조형적 특성은 풍부한 질감과 선적인 리듬의 변화 반복성 등이 유기적으로 구성되어 있어 직물의 텍스츄어 및 복식실루엣으로 표현하기에 적합한 모티브임을 알았다. 둘째, 패각의 조형성을 응용한 작품을 검토하는 과정에서 의상에서 보여주는 표현양상은 대부분 평면적인 차원에서 재현 및 응용한 것이 많았고, 의상의 소재로서 입체적인 표면효과에 대한 조형적 인식이 크게 부각되지 않았다. 세째, 패각의 시각적 이미지를 복식에 재구성하는 과정을 통하여 셔링기법과 결합한 슬래쉬기법의 독특한 표현방법은 독특한 질감에 대한 복식표현을 가능케 함으로써 아트 패브릭을 통한 독자적인 조형성을 추구하게 하였다. 네째, 염색에 의한 유사색 혹은 보색의 점이적인 변화와 명도 및 색상대비는 아트 패브릭의 입체적인 표현과 표면의 공간감을 효과적으로 조성하였다. 본 연구에서는 자연물의 조형성을 복식에 응용하는 과정에서 부조적 표면효과의 부족을 느껴 자연물 중 패각에 대해서만 연구가 이루어졌으므로, 앞으로 다양한 자연의 소재를 응용하여 새로운 복식 소재로서 아트 패브릭 및 실루엣이 대한 다각적인 연구가 계속되길 바란다. 또한 본 연구는 수공예적인 테크닉에 국한되었지만 기술적인 면에서 대량 생산될 수 있는 아트 페브릭의 입체적인 표면가공에 대한 연구가 이루어졌으면 한다.
