C. Franck의 <Prelude, Choral and Fugue>와 M. Ravel의 <Miroirs>중 Une Barque sur l'oce´an, Alborada del gracioso에 관한 연구

Abstract

C. Franck (1822-1890)는 후기 낭만시대의 프랑스 기악 음악 특히 건반음악의 발전에 크게 공헌한 작곡가로 J. S. Bach의 영향을 받아 Prelude, Choral and Fugue 를 작곡하였다. 이 곡은 순차 하행하는 반음계의 선율이 각각 Prelude, Chorale 과 Fugue에 나오는 순환기법을 사용함으로써 곡의 전체적인 통일성을 부여하고 있으며 Prelude 와 Fugue사이에 Choral을 집어넣음으로써 곡의 구조를 확대시켰다. 대위법적 작곡기법에 의한 대선율의 사용, 동형 진행, 리듬의 확대와 축소, 주제의 전위의 사용과 함께 반음계적 진행, 7, 9화음의 사용, 이명동음전조와 자유로운 전조를 통해 고전주의적 구조안에서 낭만주의 수법을 사용한 곡임을 알 수 있다. 프랑스의 인상주의는 바그너를 중심으로 한 독일 낭만음악에 대한 반동으로 러시아의 민족주의와 함께 19세기 말에 생겨났으며 인상주의의 가장 큰 특징으로는 기능적 화성의 파괴를 들 수 있다. M.Ravel(1875-1937)은 인상주의 음악의 창시자인 C. Dedussy (1862-1918)와 동시대 작곡가였으나 그의 인상주의 기법과 함께 고전주의적인 형식을 사용하여 자신만의 음악세계를 구축하였다. 1905년에 작곡된 거울 (Miroirs)은 그의 작품들 중 인상주의적 특징이 잘 나타나는 곡으로 5곡으로 되어있으며 거울에 비친 사물을 객관적으로 묘사하려 했다. 제 3곡인 대양의 조각 배(Une Barque sur 1'oce´an)는 9화음의 아르페지오와 단편적인 리듬이 주된 요소가 되고 제 4곡인 어릿광대의 아침노래 (Alborada del gracioso)는 Ravel의 무곡에 대한 관심을 보여주는 곡으로 스페인적 리듬과 선율이 사용되었다.;C. Franck (1822-1890), a musician made a great contribution to the development of French instrumental music especially Keyboard music in the late Romanticism, composed for piano <Prelude, Choral and Fugue> with effect of J. S. Bach. This tune was chracterized by overall unity on the basis of Cyclic Techniques which is consist of choromatic melody with conjunct downward motion at Prelude, Chorale and Fugue. Franck enlarged the structure of tune by adding between Prelude and Fugue& has Classical form with contrapunctual composition technique, for example sequence, rhythm enlargement, rhythm curtailment, inversion of subject and Romantic technique such as Chromaticism, the 7th, 9th chords enharmonic and free modulation. In the late 19th century, the Impressionism in France took place reactively to German Romanticism centering on Wagner with the Nationalism in Russia. And the most important characteristic is the Destruction of the Functional Harmony. M. Ravel (1875-1937) was a contemporary with C. Debussy (1822-1918) who initiated the music of Impressionism. But he established original music world by the Classical form with Debussy's technique of Impressionism. <Miroirs> which is composed of 5 pieces in 1905 is well showed the characteristic of Impressionism among his works. No.3 「Une barque sur l'oce´an」 formed with main material, arpeggio of the 9th chord and fragmentary rhythm. No.4 「Albarada del gracioso」 is the piece which showed Ravel's interest of Dance rhythm and has Spanish rhythm, melody.
