이조시대 목가구의 금속장식을 응용한 의상디자인 연구

Abstract

20세기 현대 사회는 고도의 과학기술과 정보혁명의 사회로 표현되어진다. 서구의 조형양식과 방법론이 도입됨에 따라 우리 고유의 전통은 서구적인 것에 밀려 진부한 양식으로 치부되어졌다. 이제 우리 패션은 西歐모드(mode)의 모방만으로는 소비자의 욕구를 만족시킬 수 없을 뿐만 아니라 국제적으로 우리 고유의 전통성을 세계에 인식시킬 수 없다. 그러므로 우리의 패션은 이제 구미 모드의 모방단계에서 탈피하여 우리의 문화환경에 적합한 모드의 정립이 불가피하다. 현재 민속적인 것일수록 오히려 국제 사회에서 인정을 받게 된다는 사실을 자각하여 우리 고유의 전통 선과 모티브를 찾아내고 이를 redesign하여 전통과 현대와의 만남의 길을 모색하려는 창조적 조형활동이 활발히 전개되고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 19세기에서 20세기 초에 사용되어졌던 목가구의 금속장식의 특성을 고찰하고, 이것을 기능적, 장식적 측면에서 형태, 문양 등을 선별하여 작품제작을 함으로써, 복식 디자인에 있어서 전통의 재창조라는 가능성 제시와 함께 한국적 모티브의 표현영역확대에 그 의의를 두고자 한다. 본 연구의 실물작품 8점은 투피스 5점, 원피스 2점, 원피스와 자켓의 앙상블 1점에 조선목가구의 금속장식의 형태를 응용하여 작품성과 상업성을 겸비하고, 민속적인 체취가 품기면서도 국제화시대에 함께 호흡할 수 있는 복식디자인을 시도해 보았다. 이러한 연구 과정을 통하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 전통 모티브의 도입과 제시는 현대의 감각에 맞는 조형활동의 대상이 될 수 있었다. 즉 이조 목가구의 금속장식에서 보이는 절제된 곡선의 미의 현대 복식으로의 응용은 부드러움과 현대의 모던함이 함께 잘 어우려져 전통의 현대로의 다양한 표현 가능성을 제시해 주었다. 둘째, 이조 목가구에 사용되었던 금속장식의 아름다움을 현대 복식에 재구성함으로써, 구미모드의 모방단계에서 탈피하여 우리 고유 모드 정립의 효과를 가져올 수 있었다. 셋째, 전통모티브의 사용은 우리 민족에게 민족문화에 대한 애착과 긍지를 고취시킬 수 있었다. 이상에서 살펴본 바와 같이 복식디자인에 있어서 전통모티브의 도입과 계승발전은 필수불가결하다. 전통의 재창조 작업만이 시시각각으로 다변화하고 있는 국제화사회에서 선도적 역할을 할 수 있는 길이라고 생각한다.;The modern society of the 20th century is expressed as the society of high degree technology and information revolution. According as the Western plastic mode and methodology are introduced, the tradition of our own was regarded as the old-fashioned mode, as it was pushed by the Western thing. Now, our fashion my not satisfy the rarity demand of consumers and it may not make the world recognize the tradition nature of our own internationally, only with the imitation of Western mode. SO, as for our fashion, it is inevitable to establish the mode which is suitable for our culture environment by getting out of the imitation state of Western mode. In the present art circle, by recognizing the fact that the national thing takes on internationality, the creative plastic activity to find out our tradition motive and to try to grope forthe way of meeting of tradition and modern times on the basis of this is being unfloded vividly. So, this study is to place the meaning in the expension of expression range of Korean motive, with the suggestion of possiblity which is the recreation of tradition in the design of dress and its ornaments, by manufacturing the work, through the study of the features, by manufacturing the work, through the study of the features of metal decoration of wood furniture which was used from the 19th century to the early 20th century and through the selection of form and pattern etc. in the functional and decorative side. As for 8 pieces of original works of this study the design of dress and its ornaments which combine artistry and commerce nature and which have national flavor and which can respire together in the internationalization period was tried, by reconstituting with the vision of researcher, after applying the form of metal decoration of Chosun wood furniture to 2 two pieces, 2 one pieces, and 1 ensemble of one piece and jacket which modern females frequently wear regardless of age. Through this study course, following conclusion was obtained. First, the introduction and suggestion of tradition motive were the successful trial, to the extent that they may be the subject of plastic activity which is suitable for the modern sense. Second, reconstituting the beauty of metal decoration which was used in the wood furniture of Yi dynasty in the dress and its ornaments in a modern style could bring the effect of mode establishment of our own by getting out of the imitation stage of western mode. Third, the use of tradition motive may inspire the love and pride about national cultue to our nation. As examined above, the introduction, succession and development of tradition motive are essential in the design of dress and its ornaments. It is considered that only the recreation work of tradition is the way to be able to perform the learning role in the international society which is diversifying momently.
