음율의 시각적 이미지를 사진으로 표현하기 위한 기법 연구

Abstract

1839년 사진 발명의 공식 발표 이후, 그 역사와 예술성은 많은 사진제작자들에 의해서 변천, 발전되어 왔다. 20세기에 들어서면서 사진은 본격적으로 현대적인 시각을 나타내기 시작하였는데 단순히 순간적인 현실을 기록한다거나 시각적인 미를 추구하는 것과는 달리 작가의 개성이 뚜렷한, 만들어진 사진이 등장하게 된다. 이러한 사진들의 특징은 여러가지 기법과 실험을 통해 다양한 이미지를 추구한다는 점이다. 본 연구는 이와 맥을 같이하여 사진을 통한 여러가지 표현 방식으로 소리가 갖는 시각적 형상을 나타내려고 한다. 그것은 우리가 눈으로 감지 할 수 없는 추상적인 소리, 그 중 음율과 리듬이 있는 악기의 소리를 꼴라쥬와 이중 혹은 다중 촬영의 기법을 통해 시각적 이미지로 나타내려는 의도로 제작된다. 꼴라쥬한 모노톤의 흑백사진과 칼라로 촬영한 악기의 형태및 질감이 한 필림상에서 이중으로 교차되는 효과에 의해서 공간감과 동시성을 함께 느낄 수 있다. 다양한 표현방식의 시도라는 면에서 본 작품과 유사한 성격을 갖는 작가들 즉, 멀티플 이미지의 사진을 제작하는 데이비드 호크니, 파노라마식 구성의 루카스 사마라스, 다중 인화 세계를 마련한 제리 율스만의 작품 경향을 분석하여 본 연구제작의 미적인 토대를 밝히려고 한다. 또한 10점의 작품을 제작하면서-이중촬영시의 노출 적정량, 조명의 위치 및 종류, 악기 특성에 따른 카메라의 위치등-실질적으로 경험한 방법 위주로 이론적인 설명을 하고자 한다.;Since the invention of photograph was announced in 1839. its history and beauty concepts have been tremendously changed to develop by many producers. Beside the pictures had been considered as a means of recording main events or seeking for the visual beauty for a while, the new type of photograph came up in 20th century representing an unique personality of makers. what we called, 'made pictures'. Major characteristics of these art works are pursuing somewhat different kinds of image through various methods and experiments to present. My work is also based on these ideas mainly dealing with the visual expression of sound through many experimental photographs. I focus on the abstract sound we cannot feel, especially the instrumental sound containing a melody and a rhythm. In my works, I intend to generate it as a visual image by the collage, overlapping, and multiple overlapping. You might have the space idea and synchronism with my photographs of instruments taken by monotone color of collage. I use a crossing effect of instrumental shape and touch on a film to show these concepts. And as a study of various ways to present pictures, I analyze the trend of many works and beauty concepts made by other similar producers, such as David Hockney - multiple image photographs, Lucas Samaras - a panoramic view, and Jerry Uelsmann - multi printing technique. I herewith exhibit my ten pictures to present the theoritical explanation on the basis of practical methods I experienced in the job performance, for example, the right amount of exposure for overlapping, the lighting position and its kinds, the right position of camera for the instrument, and so forth.
