한국 교회학교 아동의 종교적 사고발달에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 우리나라 교회학교 아동(이하 아동)의 하나님, 예수, 교회에 관한 종교적 사고의 개념이 어떻게 발달하고 있는가를 알아보고, 그것은 성별과 어떤 관계가 있으며, 아동의 종교적 사고발달에 교파가 하나의 영향인으로 작용할 수 있는지를 규명하는 것을 연구의 목적으로 삼았다. 골드만의 연구틀을 사용하여 연구한 분석결과를 바탕으로 내린 본 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 1. 아동의 하나님 개념의 발달에 있어서 하나님의 모양에 관한 개념은 신인동형론적인 개념의 단계에서 초인간적인 개념을 거쳐 상징적인 개념으로 발달한다. 신적 의사소통에 대해서는, 물리적, 신체적 의미의 의사소통 개념에서 비물리적, 비신체적 의사소통의 개념으로 발달한다. 신적 현존에 대해서는, 감각에'근거하여 하나님의 현존을 생각하는 단계에서 신앙과 논리에 근거하여 하나님의 현존을 생각하는 단계로 발달한다. 자연세계에서의 하나님의 활동에 대한 개념의 발달에 있어서 불타는 떨기나무에 대해서는, 물질적이고 물리적인 생각에서 반-물리적인 방법의 개념의 단계를 거쳐서 비-물리적인 방법의 개념으로 발전하고 있다. 갈라진 홍해바다에 대해서는 하나님의 직접적인 간섭의 개념에서, 간접적 영향의 단계로 발전하였다. 하나님의 거룩하심에 대하여 모세가 하나님을 쳐다보기 두려워 한 이유에 대해서는 하나님을 예측하지 못할 두려운 존재로 생각하는 단계에서, 좀 덜 한 정도의 두려움을 느끼는 개념의 단계를 거쳐, 위대한 하나님 앞에서의 인간의 미미함으로 인한 두려움의 단계로 나아간다. 거룩한 땅의 본질에 대해서는 혼란 가운데 있는 단계에서, 물리적 의미의 하나님의 임재와 연결시킴으로써의 거룩한 땅의 본질을 이야기하는 단계로 발달했다. 하나님의 사랑에 대한 개념에 있어서는 하나님의 우주적 사랑을 받아들이지 못하거나 단지 입놀림(verbalism)으로만 받아들이는 단계에서, 하나님의 우주적인 사랑을 받아들이는 단계로 발달한다. 갈라진 홍해바다에 대한 하나님의 활동과 거룩한 땅의 본질에 대한 이해에서는 골드만의 연구결과와 다른 결과가 나타났다. 2. 아동의 예수 개념 발달에 있어서, 그리스도의 인성에 대한 개념의 발달은 그리스도의 외양에 관심하는 단계에서, 기적을 행하는 특별한 능력을 가진 사람으로 생각하는 단계를 거쳐서, 예수의 세상을 향한 선교, 하나님과의 특별한 친밀감에 촛점을 두는 단계로 발달한다. 그리스도의 도덕적 의에 대한 영역에 있어서는, 소년이었을 때의 그리스도에 대하여는 예수의 도덕적 완전성을 생각하는 단계에서, 불완전성을 이야기하는 단계로 나아간다. 그러나 성인이 되었을 때의 그리스도의 도덕적 의에 대하여는 모두가 도덕적 결함이 없었으리라고 응답하였다. 예수가 시험을 거절한 이유에 대한 개념 발달에 있어서는 비개념적 단계에서 권위적 순종의 개념의 단계로 발달한다. 예수의 시험의 의미에 대한 이해에 있어서는, 잘못된 개념을 가지고 있는 가지고 있는 단계에서, 예수의 신적 권능과 시험의 의미에 대한 통찰이 생기지만, 그것을 예수의 미래 선교와는 연결시키지 못하는 단계로 발전한다. 성인으로서의 예수의 도덕적 완전성에 대한 이해와 시험의 의미에 대한 이해는 골드만의 연구결과와 다르게 나타났다. 3. 아동의 교회 개념의 발달에 있어서 교회의 본질에 대한 개념은, 주로 교회의 외부적인 형태와 의식을 생각하는 단계에서 교회의 영적인 기능을 생각하는 단계를 거쳐, 함께 드리는 예배, 성도들의 모임을 생각하는 단계로 발달한다. 교회에 나가는 동기에 있어서는 쾌락적 개념의 단계에서, 관습적 종교적 개념 단계를 거쳐 신앙의 필연적 표현의 개념 단계로 발달한다. 실생활과의 연관에 있어서는 특별한 도움의 단계에서 도덕적이고 영적으로 보다 좋은 사람이 되는 데 도움을 얻고 있다고 생각하는 단계로 발달한다. 4. 아동의 종교적 사고발달과 성별과의 관계에 있어서 하나님에 대한 이해에 있어서는 신적 의사소통에 대한 개념과 하나님 보기를 두려워 한 이유의 개념, 거룩한 땅의 본질에 대한 이해, 하나님의 사랑에 대한 개념에 있어서는 여아의 발달이 남아의 발달 보다 약간 빠른 것으로 나타났다. 예수에 대한 이해에 있어서는 소년이었을 때의 그리스도의 도덕적 의에 대한 개념과 예수의 시험의 의미에 대한 이해에 있어서는 남아가 여아 보다 약간 성숙한 응답을 한 것으로 나타났다. 교회에 대한 이해에 있어서는 남녀에 따른 차이가 발견되지 않았다. 5. 아동의 종교적 사고 발달과 교파와의 관련성에 있어서는 하나님에 대한 이해에 있어서 신적 의사소통의 개념에서는 기장의 아동들이 예장의 아동들 보다 빠른 발달을 보여주었다. 하나님의 모양에 대한 개념이나 신적 현존의 개념, 자연세계에서의 하나님의 활동에 대한 개념, 하나님 보기를 두려워하는 개념, 거룩한 땅의 본질, 하나님의 사랑에 대한 개념에 있어서는 예장의 아동들이 기장의 아동들 보다 성숙한 응답을 한 것으로 나타났다. 예수에 대한 이해에 있어서는 소년이었을 때의 그리스도의 도덕적 의에 대한 개념, 예수가 첫번째 시험을 거절한 이유에 대한 개념, 예수의 시험의 의미에 대한 이해에 있어서는 예장의 아동들이 기장의 아동들보다 좀 더 빠른 발달 단계에 있는 것으로 나타났다. 교회의 본질에 관한 개념의 경우는 예장의 아동들의 기장의 아동들 보다 약간 빠른 단계상의 배열을 보여주고 있는 반면에, 교회에 나가는 동기에 대한 개념에 있어서는 기장의 아동들이 예장의 아동들 보다 약간 성숙한 응답을 한 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 이러한 차이는 교파의 차이에서라기 보다는 개인별 차이에서 연유된 것으로 보는 것이 바람직하다. 본 연구의 결론에 의거하여 후속연구를 위한 제언을 다음과 같이 하였다. 첫째, 피조사자의 연령의 범위를 확대할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 교수와 학습이 충실히 수행되고 있는 교회의 아동들을 엄격히 선택한다면 본 논문의 결과에 대한 정확한 검증자료가 될 것이다. 세째, 아동의 정신 연령과 지능 지수까지도 통제하여 연구하면, 본 논문의 결과에 대해 좀은 보완점이 될 것이다. 네째, 아동의 종교적 사고 발달에 관한 연구에서, 다양한 변인을 가진 후속 연구들이 이루어질 필요가 있다.;The purpose of this thesis is to show how develop the Korean primary school children's religious thought on the subject of "God, Jesus church", which are the major topics in christian religion, and to examine the relation ship between the religious thinking development and the sexual distinction, and to give an answer about whether the ecclesiastical denomination can be vital factor influencing the development or not. To achieve the goal of this study, I used the Ronald Goldman's research frame. The result of this study is as follows. The steps of God concept are as follows : In the concept of deity visualized developes from an anthropomorphic thinking to superhuman, and to symbolic being : In the concept of divine communication developes from an physical, material concept to the non-physical, non-material concept : In the concept of divine presence developes from depending on the senses to depending on belief, faith, and logic : In the concept of God's activity in the burning bush evevt developes from an materialistic explanation to semi-physical explanation to non-physical explanation :In the concept of God's activity in the waters divided developes from the concept of physical, direct way to indirect : In the concept of the fear of looking upon God developes from the fear of the primitive level to a lesser degree based on rational reason, and to guilt feelings aroused by contact with the divine : In the concepts of the nature of the holy ground developes from much confusion to the concepts of the holy, dependent on God being present in a physical sense, and to the concepts of the holy, dependent on God being present in a non-physical sense : In the concept of divine love developes from an rejecting universal love or accepting it at only a verbal level to accepting it. The difference between the result of this thesis and it of Goldman's study is in the understanding of the concepts of the waters divided the nature of holy ground. The steps of Jesus concept are as follows : In the concept of the person of Christ developes from the concepts of Jesus as a good, helpful or devout man to as a miracle worker, and to the concepts of Jesus' mission for the world or his nearness to God : In the concept of Christ's moral righteousness as boy developes from the concept of moral perfection to imperfection. But in the concept of Christ's moral righteousness as man, all student answer perfection of it : In the concept of temptation developes from the stage as a non-conceptual stage, to the concepts of authoritarian obediance, and to the concepts of purpose and power. The difference between the result of this thesis and it of Goldman's study is in the understanding of the concepts of the Christ's moral righteousness as man, and the temptation. The steps of church concept are as follows : In the concept of the nature of the church developes from a stage of thinking external features of building or ceremonies, to a stage where the spiritual function of the chuech is seen more clearly, and to a stage where corporate worship is seen as major function of the church : In the concept of motives for churchgoing developes from the pleasure concepts, to the conventional religion concepts, and to concepts as an inenitable expressin belief : In the concept of the helpfulness of churchgoing developes from the 'specific help' stage, to the concepts focused on becoming a better person, morally and spiritually. As to the relationship between children's religious thinling development and sexual distinction, I concluded that the girls are a little faster than boys in the concepts of divine communication, the fear of looking upon God, the nature of holy ground, divine love : the boys are a little faster than the girls in the conceps of Chirst's moral righteousness as boy, the meaning of temptation : they are equal in the concepts of church. As to inter-relationship between religious thinking development and ecclesastical denominations, I concluded that children, attending in the church of Ki Jang(Korean christian presbyterian church ) denomination are faster than the children, attending in the church of Ye Jang(Korean Jesus' presbyterian church) denomination in the concepts of divine communication, motives for churchgoing : children, attending in the church of Je Jang denomination are faster than the children, attending in the church of Ki Jang denomination in the concepts of the deity visualised, divine presence, God's activity in the nature world, the fear of looking upon God, the nature of holy ground, divine love, Christ's moral righteousness as boy, the meaning of temptation, the nature of church. But this differences are to be not from denominational differenced of the church in which they are attending, but from the difference of individual ability in other part.
