교사 관심에 의한 수업형태 및 교사-학생의 언어적 상호작용

Abstract

Habermas에 의하면, 인간의 관심은 인간의 지식, 행위 및 언어적 상호작용에 영향을 준다고 한다. 본 연구는 구체적으로 Habermas가 말한 인간의 기술적, 실천적, 해방적 관심에 따라 수업형태 및 교사-학생의 언어적 상호작용이 어떻게 달라지는가에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 본 연구의 가설은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교사의 관심에 따라 수업형태에 차이가 나타날 것이다. 둘째, 교사의 관심에 따라 교사-학생간의 언어적 상호작용 형태에 차이가 나타날 것이다. 연구 대상으로는 이화여자대학교 사범대학 부속국민학교 1학년과 6학년 각 한 학급의 교사와 학생들로 산수과 수업을 관찰하였다. 1학년 교사가 기술적, 실천적, 해방적 관심을 갖고 수업을 차례로 진행하였고, 6학년 교사도 이와 같이 수업을 하였다. 관찰방법은 Flan-ders의 수업 분석법을 이용하여, 연구자가 직접 관찰 및 분석하였다. 연구결과는 빈도 및 백분율을 이용하여 지수를 산출한 후 각 관심별로 비교하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 1 . 1학년의 각 관심에 따른 수업형태, 첫째, 기술적 관심에 의한 수업은, 교사의 질문에 이어 학생의 단순 답변이 뒤따라 나오는 형태로 나타났다. 둘째, 실천적 관심에 의한 수업은, 기술적 관심에 의한 수업과 비슷한 형태로 나타났다. 셋째, 해방적 관심에 의한 수업은, 교사의 질문에 이어 학생의 단순 답변이 있었고, 학생의 답변에 대한 교사의 칭찬 및 격려가 뒤따르는 형태로 진행되었다. 2 . 6학년의 각 관심에 따른 수업형태, 첫째, 기술적 관심에 의한 수업은, 교사의 질문에 어 학생의 단순 답변과 학생의 답변에 대한 교사의 칭찬 및 격려가 주 형태를 이루었고, 교사의 강의 후 질문에 따른 학생의 자발적인 답변이 부 형태를 이루어 진행되었다. 둘째, 실천적 관심에 의한 수업에서는, 교사의 질문에 따른 학생의 단순 답변이 있었고, 학생의 답변에 대한 교사의 칭찬 및 격려 발언이 뒤따르는 형태로 진행되었다. 셋째, 해방적 관심에 의한 수업형태는, 기술적 관심에 의한 형태와 유사하게 나타났다. 3 . 각 관심에 따른 교사-학생의 언어적 상호작용 형태, 첫째, 세 관심의 수업 모두 전반적으로 지시적으로 진행되었으나, 학생의 발언에 대한 교사의 처리는 허용적, 온정적으로 이루어졌다. 둘째, 교사와 학생의 발언 빈도는 기술적 관심에 의한 수업에서 높게 나타났다. 따라서 교사의 계속적 강의 및 질문비도 기술적 관심에서 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 학생의 자기 생각에 대한 자발적인 발언은 해방적 관심에 의한 수업에서 높은 비율로 나타났다.;This study is to investigate teaching patterns and verbal interactions according to teachers interests. Habermas argued that knowledge, actions, and speech actions are influenced by three kinds of human interests; the technical, the practical and the emancipatory interests. Teaching patterns are observed and analyzed in accordance with the three interests respectively. The hypotheses are as follows; 1. Teachers interests will make difference in teaching patterns. 2. Teachers interests will make difference in verbal interactions between teacher and pupil. This study includes the participation of two different classes respectively from first grade and sixth grade of Ewha Demonstration Elementary School. The results are analyzed by Flanders' verbal interaction analysis method. 1. The teaching patterns in the first grade class are as follows: 1) With the technical interest, the teacher gives questions and then the students make short answers. 2) The teaching pattern of the practical interest is same with that of the technical interest. 3) With the emancipatory interest, teacher gives questions, and the students make short answers followed by the teacher's approval. 2. The teaching patterns in the sixth grade are as follows: 1) With the technical interest, in the major patterns the teacher gives questions first and the students make short answers followed by the teacher's approval. And in the minor pattern, teacher gives questions and the students' spontaneous answers follow. 2) With the practical interest, the teacher gives questions and the students make short answers followed by the teacher's approval. 3) The teaching pattern of the emancipatory interest is same with that of the technical interest. 3. The patterns of teacher-pupil verbal interactions as follows; 1) The classes based on the three kinds of interests are all taken with directive instruction. However the teachers treat the students' answers with permission and approval. 2) The frequency rate of the teachers' talking is at the highest point in the technical interest. So the teachers gives lectures or questions continuously. And the frequency rate of the students' talking is relatively high. 3) The teaching pattern with the emancipatory interest derives the Students' spontaneous responses.
