키네틱 아트를 응용한 복식디자인 연구

Abstract

현대복식은 팝 아트(Pop Art), 초현실주의, 입체주의, 포스트모더니즘(Postmodernism), 데콩트리데(De´contracte´), 키네틱 아트(Kinetic Art)등 그 시대를 풍미한 다양한 예술양식과의 결합을 시도하였다. 키네틱 아트는 산업혁명 이후 출현한 기계와 예술과의 결합을 최초로 시도하였으며, "움직임"의 실제성을 조형예술에 도입한 미술양식이다. 또한 현대복식은 그 표현욕구의 다양화로 복식에 있어서의 "움직임"의 도입을 시도하게 되었다. 이에 본 연구의 목적은 키네틱 아트의 표현방법 중 모빌을 복식조형에 도입하여 복식에 있어 장식적인 화려함을 표현하고 구조적 형태를 이용한 리드미컬(rhythmical)한 동적효과와 4차원적 공간감을 표현하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 키네틱 아트의 미술사적 의미와 다양한 표현방법들을 연구 분석하고, 그것을 바탕으로 복식조형에 있어서 모빌의 실제적 움직임과 시간성이 도입된 4차원의 공간감을 도입하여 복식에 생명력을 불어넣코자 하였으며, 현대복식의 다양한 표현욕구에 부흥하는 새로운 복식디자인의 모티브를 개발하는 데 있다. 본 연구의 내용 및 방법은 이론적 배경으로써 키네틱 아트의 형성과 특성을 문헌을 통하여 고찰하고, 그 표현방법을 분류하여 각각의 특성과 대표적 작가, 작품에 대하여 모빌을 중심으로 연구하였다. 또한 모빌을 응용한 현대복식작품의 조형적 특성에 대하여 참고작품을 표집하여 분석하였다. 이러한 이론적 배경을 토대로 모빌의 동적효과와 4차원적 공간감을 복식에 도입한 작품 총 8점을 제작하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 종합하여 보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 복식에 있어서의 모빌의 도입은 복식 자체의 리드미컬한 동적효과로 복식에 생명력에 불어 넣을 수 있었다. 둘째, 기하학적 형태의 모빌은 인체의 움직이는 속도와 보는 각도에 따라서도 형태가 변형되는 4차원적 공간감을 얻을 수 있어 현대복식의 다양한 표현욕구에 부응하는 현대적인 복식디자인을 표현하는 모티브이다. 셋째, 복식에 응용한 모빌은 구조적인 복식구성에 의한 다양한 형태표현 및 장식적 역할을 하였다. 넷째, 모빌에 사용한 합성수지는 가볍고 부드러우며 탄성과 조형성을 갖추어 복식의 미적, 실용적 기능에 적합하였다. 본 연구에서는 키네틱 아트의 표현방법 중 모빌을 응용한 복식디자인에 관해서만 이루어졌으며로, 앞으로 빛에 의한 시각적 효과를 표현한 복식디자인, 소리의 감지에 의해 형태가 변형되는 복식디자인, 또는 모터나 전기동력을 이용한 복식디자인 등의 연구로 키네틱 아트를 응용한 복식디자인에 대한 다각적인 연구가 계속되기를 바란다. 또한 모빌을 응용한 복식디자인은 아동복 디자인에 적합한 디자인 모티브로 앞으로 이러한 방향에의 연구가 이루어졌으면 한다.;With the advent of 20th century, contemporary fashion design made an attempt to combine with the diverse modes of fine arts, such as Pop Art, Surrealism, Cubism, Postmodernism, De´contracte´, Kinetic Art and the like which pervaded at that time. Kinetic Art for the first time ventured to join together the arts and machine civilization that turned up since the Industrial Revolution, and introduced the reality of "motion" in the formative arts. Besides contemporary design tried to introduce the motion in fashion design out of the desire for expression of diversity as well. Accordingly, in this study the introduction of mobile in fashion design among the expressions of Kinetic Art is tried and aims at expressing the feeling of four-dimensional space and rhythmic effect of dynamism. The purpose of this study is to investigate the various methods of expression and the meaning of Kinetic Art in the history of fine arts, on that basis, to instill vitality into fashion design, introducing the real motion of mobile and the feeling of four-dimensional space time is annexed to in the formation of fashion design. The contents and the method of this study is that as theoretical background, the formation and the characteristic of Kinetic Art were investigated through literatures, the methods of expression was classified and studied concerning respective characteristic, representative authors and their works primarily on mobile, and referential works were sorted and analyzed as to the formative property of contemporary fashion designs that applied mobile. On the basis of this theoretical background, eight works in all that introduced the feeling of four-dimensional space of dynamic effect of mobile in designs were produced. The summary of the results of this study is as follows. First, the introduction of mobile in fashion design could instill vitality into design in virtue of rhythmic effect of dynamism. Second, presenting the feeling of four-dimensional space on the ground of the variation of form according to moving speed of the human body and the angle on the garments, mobile of geometric form is the motive that expresses new style of design satiating various desires for expression in contemporary fashion design. Third, mobile applied in fashion design played the role of diverse morphological expression and ornamentation by structural design construction. Fourth, being light, elastic and formative, synthetic plastics used as mobile were suitable for aesthetic and practical function of fashion design. Because in this study fashion design which applied only mobile among the expressions of Kinetic Art, after this is the investigation of fashion designs that express optic effect by light, vary forms sensing sounds, or use electric power and diversified studies on fashion design which applies Kinetic Art can be continued. And after this, studies based on this one are expected to be continued on design motives suitable for children's clothing design appling mobile.
