한국 전통담의 조형미를 응용한 현대 복식 디자인

Abstract

21세기를 눈앞에 두고 세계의 문화는 급속한 변화의 추구 및 자유를 구가하고 있다. 고도의 과학 기술에 의존하면서도 반 산업주의적 특성을 가지며 인간의 개성과 감성을 존중하고, 다양함을 추구하는 등의 새로운 생활양식이 나타나고 있다. 오늘날 세계속에서 일어나고 있는 이러한 급속한 변화는 우리의 전통문화가 서구의 것에 밀려나 주체성을 상실할 위기에 처해있는 지금, 하나의 돌파구로서 '민속적'이라는 패션의 주제를 제공한다 그리하여 우리의 복식영역에 있어서는 가장 민속적인 미를 위하여 과거의 미를 모티브로 택하여 디자인하는 경향이 두드러지고 있다. 이때의 '미'란 단순히 과거에만 존재했던 것이 아니라 과거와 현재를 거쳐 미래로까지 이어갈 전통미이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 전통미를 표현하는 모티브를 모색함에 있어, 우리의 삶속에서 흔히 접하면서 외부에 대해 인간을 보호하고 인간을 심리적으로 안정시키는 담의 이미지를 선택하여 이를 현대화시키고, 복식을 통한 전통미의 창조적 가능성을 제시하여 복식 디자인의 표현 영역 확대에 그의의를 두고자 한다. 본연구를 위한 이론적 배경으로는 먼저, 한국의 전통담에 대해 그 의미와 역사, 종류 및 조형미, 특성 등을 문헌을 통해 알아보았다. 그리고 전통담이라는 모티브를 포함하는 더 큰 의미의 전통미에 대해 알아보고 현대 복식에 나타나는 조형적 특성을 분석해 봄으로써 이와같은 맥락하에서 현대 한국 복식에 나타난 전통미를 분석해 보았다. 우리의 전통담은 소박하고 담백한 우리의 전통 미의식을 그대로 표현하고 있어 현대복식에 나타나고 있는 특성들과 아울려 복식디자인에 좋은 모티브가 되었다. 작품제작은 이론적 고찰을 통해 나타난 전통담의 조형성과 이미지를 현대적 감각에 맞게 재창조하여 실물 6점과 일러스트 2점으로 총 8점을 제작하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 담에 대한 고찰을 통해 우리민족의 내면세계에 잠재되어 있는 미에 대한 의식과 조형성을 규명하였다. 둘째, 담이라는 전통적 모티브를 복식디자인에 응용함에 있어 단순히 모방하여 그대로 사용하는 단계를 넘어 그 미적 특징을 재창조하고 그속에 내재된 미적 가치를 표현하고자 시도하였다. 셋째, 전통적 모티브를 사용하더라도 현재의 감정, 정서, 시대상에 맞게 재창조함으로써 현대적 감각에 부응하는 복식디자인의 가능성을 제시하였다. 넷째, 담이라는 하나의 모티브로, 실용의상에서부터 미술의상으로까지 다양한 표현 가능성을 제시하였다. 다섯째, 담을 응용한 현대 복식디자인을 통해 전통미가 제시하는 창조적 가능성을 새롭게 인식하여 우리의 정신적 주체성을 회복하는데 의의를 둔다. 이상의 결과에서 복식에 있어서 전통미의 표현은 우리에게 우리의 것에 대한 자긍심을 심어주며 새로운 창조를 통한 복식미의 개발을 시도하였다.;With the twentieth century just ahead the culture of the world has been eulogized the pursuit of the rapid change and the blessings of liberty. And a new mode of life that has the features of anti-industrialism, which are a respect and diversity of ail individuality, has appeared. In these days such a change in the world provide a new theme of the folk in fashion design as a breach when our traditional culture is faced with a crisis to lose the subjectivity due to popularization of Western culture. Soul our fashion design there has been a growing tendency that design the most past aesthetic as a motive for the most folk aesthetic. The aesthetic above mentioned is a traditional aesthetic that will persist from the past to the future. The purpose of this study is to modernize the image of the traditional wall which protect him or her from the outside and put him at rest, and to expand an area of expressing the motive in a fashion design by presenting the creative possibility of the traditional aesthetic. The theoretical background of this study is based on the research of literature relevant to the meaning, the history, the kind, the formative aesthetic, and the features of the traditional wall, and the analysis of the formative features and traditional aesthetic which are shown on the modem fashion and the modern korean fashion, respectively. In process of work production it had been made six pieces and two illustration of works by applying the new image which has been reorganized based on the image and modeling of the traditional wall. The results of this study are as follows: First, it can be shown the traditional aesthetic sense and modeling of Korean by investigating the traditional wall. Second, it has made an attempt to re-create and express the aesthetic features and worth of the wall as traditional motive in fashion design. Third, it is possible the fashion design that is suitable for modern sense if we re-create the traditional motive according to the modern aesthetic feelings' and the phases of the times. Forth, this works would present the possibility of the various expression from a practical clothes to Art-to-wear. Fifth, it would provide an aid for the recovery of our subjectivity to recognize the creative possibility which is suggested by the traditional aesthetic through the modern fashion design. As standing above the expression of the traditional aesthetic in the fashion design would present the pride of ours to us and make the future of fashion design rich through the new creation.
