Debussy의 Preludes 제1집에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 필자의 석사과정 이수를 위한 졸업 연주회의 연주 곡목 중 C. Debussy의 Pre´ludes Ⅰ에 대한 연구이다. 인상주의 음악이란 풍부하고 다양한 화성과 음색으로 분위기를 불러 일으켜, 묘사적인 인상을 창조하도록 만들어진 음악이다. Claude Debussy(1862~1918)는 인상주의의 대표적 작곡가로, 그의 독특한 인상주의적 특징은 피아노 음악에서 잘 나타난다. Debussy는 화성, 음계, 조성, 선율, 형식에서 새로운 기법을 사용하였다. 즉, 2, 4, 6, 7음 등이 가해진 부가화음, 증·감음정의 사용, 2도, 4도로 구축되는 불협화음, 병행 음정의 연속적인 진행, 해결없는 7도와 9도화음 등의 화성과 온음음계, 5음음계, 반음계, 합성음계 등을 사용하여 그의 인상주의적 특징을 잘 표현하고 있다. Debussy의 피아노 작품 중 특히 1910년과 1913년에 각각 작곡된 Pre´ludes Ⅰ, Ⅱ는 위에서 열거한 그의 독창적이고 다양한 작곡기법을 통한 인상주의 색채가 짙게 나타나는 대표적 작품이다. Debussy는 24곡의 전주곡을 작곡했는데 각기 1집에 12곡, 2집에 12곡씩 수록되어 있다. 24곡이란 숫자가 말해주듯 F. Chopin(1810-1849)의 전주곡을 염두에 두고 작곡했으나, 각곡의 조를 지표로 배열한 Chopin의 생각을 사용하지 많았으며 즉흥성이 요구되는 극히 자유로운 형태로 24곡이 적어졌다. 이곡들은 특별한 분위기, 섬세한 뉘앙스, 음악적 음형들을 지닌 2∼3분대의 짧은 곡의 모음이다. 그리고 각곡의 끝에는 표제를 써 넣었다. 인상주의의 창시자인 Debussy는 새로운 기법을 도입, 발전을 가져와 종래의 음악적 언어와는 다른 혁신적인 표현 방식으로 20세기 음악의 주류를 이루는 거의 모든 작곡가들에게 영향을 미쳐 현대 음악의 기반을 마련하였다.;This thesis is attempted to analyze and study C. Debussy (1862 ~ 1918)'s Preludes I, which the work among the repertoire performed in recital for graduate. Impressionistic music preduces an atmosphere and creates depictive impression because it is rich and various in harmony and tone-color. Claude Debussy is the representative impressionistic composer, and his works of piamo show well his impressionistic distinction. Debussy used harmony, scale, tomality, melody and form by new method, and he expressed his impressionistic feature by using following technique added-note chords to which 2nd degree tone, 4th degree tone, 6th degree tone, 7th degree tone etc are attached, augmented, diminished interval, discord made up of 2nd degree tone and 4th degree tone, constinuous motion of parallel interval, harmony of 7th degree tone and 9th degree tone with no solution, whole-tone scale, pentatonic scale, chromatic scale, synthetic scale. Especially, Pre´ludes book Ⅰ and Ⅱ, which Debussy composed by his peculiar and various methods of composition in 1910 and 1913 respectively, are the representative works that have strong impressionistic color 「Pre´ludes Ⅰ」 is composed of 12 pieces. Each piece, 2 or 3 minutes short, does not have the same theme and form and has a title in the end of it. Debussy, the originator of Impressionism, developed the music by introduction of new method which, conceptually, is absolutely different from the former musical lauguage. Consequently, his new method had influence upon almost all composers who are the main current of 20th century's music. and formed the basis of modern music.
