조각褓의 造形性을 응용한 복식디자인 연구

Abstract

There has become to appear today various forms and so many a different expressional attitude in the art which has suffered so great changes paralleled by the vicissitude of time and society. In fact, throughout the time of earlier twenty century, there has been continuing movements to demonstrate newer forms of plastic art; the field of design, since Bauhaus, has become to take a status as a part of art; and, the fashion is now gaining a growing general recognition that it may be a mirror of time that expresses the thoughts and emotions of the people who live in that age. Also in clothing, inclination toward th formativity which involves a spirit of autonomy in creative activity has been continuously maintained, together with trends to the aesthetic function creatively represented on basis of general aesthetic impacts, one step forwarded from the older trend only focusing on the very function of simple fit-wearing. Aesthetic function in expression especially viewed from the perspective of individsuality has become to gain a great interest in the art of clothing, and, in order to fullfill this ask for strong indivisuality, the fashion designer in many a field has tried to get creative ideas. The motive of this study that paid its fundamental frame of creation onto tradition was traced from the Chogakbo, a folk art article of the period of Yi-Dynasty. First, the concept of Bojaki was grasped from general investigations into it, and, then, an analysis of it into elements of design, i.e., line, form, quality and color etc., has been conducted, then, a theoretical background could be successfully established upon the ground of helpful materials for reference that included 148 pieces of historical materials collectively recorded in "Yetbojaki ( olden Bojaki ) among the collective articles of Mr. Huh-Dongwha, related literaries, and preceding studies. To sum up. aesthetic characteristics and values illuminated from this research into 'chogakbo' was finally employed so as to be applied to the design of dress and its ornament. The interest upon those which are traditional that is recently arising in the field of designing in the Korean dress and its ornament has showed, in its most cases, a tendency that has simply succeeded styles or decorations appeard in historical remains, but it may now be said that "tradition finds its meaning not in mere following in olden days' footsteps but when it is newly recreated in conformity to this day. Also, a recomposition of the dress and its ornament which has a pertinent of traditional culture as its motive, incidentally, should be practised within the real where aesthetic feelings of it may be commonly recongized by the moderns. Total 4 pieces of actual works were made, and they were made of silk, ramie and polyester fabrics. Additional 4 pieces aesthetic values on Chogakbo in illustration. Elements pursued and expressed through working may be simply said as follows - Recomposition of the dress and its ornament with potential applicability of the aesthetic values which can be found from the olden Chogakbo and transformed into modern style. - Pursuit of traditional charm in modern dress and its ornament designing.;오늘날 시대와 사회의 변천에 따라 많은 변화를 거쳐온 예술은 다양한 형태와 함께 여러표현방식을 띠게 되었다. 20세기 전반에 걸쳐 새로운 형태의 조형예술을 정립시키는 운동은 끊임없이 이루어져 왔고, 바우하우스이래 디자인 분야는 예술의 한 부분을 차지하게 되었으며, 의복은 그 시대를 사는 사람들의 사고와 느낌을 표현해주는 시대의 거울로써 그 중요성이 인식되고 있다. 의복에 있어서도 단순한 착장의 기능에서 한 걸음 더 나아가 미적충동을 바탕으로 미적기능을 살리고 창조의 자율성을 갖는 조형성의 지향을 추구하게 되었다. 개개인의 표현의 미적 기능은 복식예술에 있어 큰 비중을 차지하게 되었으며, 이러한 개성미의 추구를 충족시키기 위하여 복식 디자이너는 여러분야에서 독창적인 아이디어를 얻으려고 노력하였다. 본 연구는 창조의 기초를 전통에 두고, 그 모티브를 조선시대 민예품인 조각보에서 찾으려고 하였다. 먼저 보자기에 대한 일반적 고찰을 통해 보(褓)의 개념을 파악하고 민보(民褓)의 대표적 양식인 조각보를 선, 형태, 재질, 색채등 디자인 요소로서 분석하였으며 연구의 자료로는 허 동화氏의 소장품중에서 「옛□□기」에 소록된 148점의 사료와 관계 문헌 및 선행연구를 참고로 이론적 배경을 정립하였다. 그리하여 조각보를 통해본 전통미에서 유출해낸 미적특징과 가치들을 복식디자인에 응용해보고자 시도하였다. 한국 복식디자인 분야에 있어 근간에 일어나고 있는 전통적인 것에 대한 관심은 대부분의 경우 역사적 유물속에서 나타난 양식 혹은 장식을 답습하는 경향을 나타내었으나, 전통은 옛것의 답습이 아니라 조상들의 훌륭한 얼을 본받아 오늘에 재창조 하는 것이다. 또한 전통文化를 모티브로 한 복식의 재구성은 현대인이 공감할 수 있는 미적감각속에서 이루어져야 하는 것이다. 실물제작작품은 총 4점이며, 실크, 모시, 노방, 폴리에스테르 등의 소재로 만들어 보았고, 기타 4점은 일러스트레이션으로 조각보에 나타난 조형미의 응용확장을 표현하였다. 작품제작을 통해 표현하고자 하는 요소는 다음과 같다. 1. 조각보의 조형미중 면분할과 색채를 현대적으로 응용한 복식의 재구성. 2. 현대 복식디자인에 있어서 전통미의 추구
