Abstract
This study concerns a methodology for the analysis on the Women's oppression, based on the criticism of the two dominantly existing methodologies. The methods oriticize Marxist feminism that tends to explain the women's problems reductively to the class relation, and it also tries to overcome Socialist teminism which strives to surmount the limit of the former one, but have faild to develop a internally consistent methodology, and the thoroughly conceptualized abstraction. The aim of the these is to step further to show the fundmental limit of the □□□□□□□ In the introduction part, I discuss the signficance of the historical materialism for the basis of the methodology of women's studies. The discussion tries to accept the historical rnaterialism crerstively by both the partial accommodation partial criticism of Marxism from the feminist point of view. In chapter Ⅱ, the Marxist theoretical framework and the central conception to it, for example the production activity the labor, are criticized based on the perspective of the theory of the subsistence production. By the criticism, the women's labor becomes wholly comprehended, and the new critical theory on capitalism can be accommodated. In chapter Ⅲ-A, the theory of the subsistence production is explained, whose theoretical origin comes from German School of the feminist theories. It explains women's oppression under capitalism in terms o f the material relations, based on the belief that the women's situation and the colonial relations are the capital accumulation on the world-wide scale. The theory puts the cause Of women's oppression on the unequal division of labor by sex in the production and reproduction of human life, especilly in the division of the childbearing process. The substence production theory shows the various capitalist, relations of production by analyzing the structural similarity between housewives ,and the small peasantry in the context of capital accumulation, and suggests that, the context of capital accumulation, and suggests that, the relations in the non-wage labor are the cornerstone of these of the wage labor. The perspective tells that the women's problem can be understood neither by adding women into the existing theorectical frameworks and, nor by separating women from it. So it asserts the necessity of the fundamental modification in the existing frameworks. In chapter Ⅲ-B, I discuss both the practical and .theorectical strongness of the subsistence production theory compared to the theories on the informal sector, articulation of the mode of production, the domestic labor debate, and the theory on the reserve army of labor. In chapter Ⅲ-C:, for the fundamental analysis of the relation between the sexual division of Laborand the material base of women's oppression under capitalism, which the subsistence production theory failed in. So I tried to relate organically the family-household system, patriarchal relations, and the sexual division of labor to the capitalist relations of production. Before the conclusion, the complementary discussion is laid. It is on the importance of problem of the human reproduction which not only Marx ,and Engels, but subsistence production theorist did not snalyze sufficiently. In conclusion, the several. facts found through this study suggested. Firstly, an analysis of women's problems should acknowledge the biological sex difference and then analyze the unsymmetry in the relations of production in human and material, and the women's alienation in the unsymmetry, Secondly, the women's oppression and the patriarchal relation on the concrete level can't be analyzed without the deliberate analysis on the abstract level like the anslysis on the mode of procuction. Thirdly, the historical and tbeoretical study on "the family-household system." is required for the analysis of "the domestication of women", labor done in private form, the women's labor in general under capitalism and the relationship among them.;본 논문은 여성 억압의 본질을 규명하려는 시도들 중 특히 여성문제를 계급관계로 환원시켜 분석하는 맑시스트 여성해방론의 한계와 그 한계를 극복하려는 시도로서의 사회주의 여성해방론이 지니는 일련의 방법론에 관한 글이다.
