"안티고네"의 무대의상 디자인 연구

Abstract

연극이 인간의 삶을 표현하는 과정에서 작품속의 사건을 시청각적 매체를 빌어 무대위에 재현하는 예술이라 볼 때 무대 의상은 그리이스 시대 이후 극의 해석을 도와주는 암시적 기능 이외에도 시각환경으로서의 조형미와 표현성을 높여왔다고 하겠다. 무대의상은 일상복과 달리 무대위에서 배우에게 입혀지는 옷이므로 무대의 제요소와 조화를 이루어야 하며 연출자의 작품해석과도 일치하여야 한다. 또한 배역의 성격, 직업, 연령 등의 정보를 제공할 수 있어야 하며 배우가 무대위에서 움직일 때 생기는 선이 시각적으로 극의 내용과 일치하도록 도와주어야 한다. 본 논문은 소포클레스의 「안티고네」를 중심으로 작품의 극적 표현성과 조화 및 해석을 돕기 위하여 무대의 구성요소인 장치, 조명, 분장과 의상에 관한 전반적 이론을 고찰하며 작품의 배경인 그리이스 시대의 복식과 무대의상, 그리고 현대 극장에서의 희랍비극 무대의상을 사진을 통하여 비교하였다. 그 결과 본 연구의 디자인은 그리이스 복식의 기본형인 드레이퍼리(drapery) 의상과 현대적 디자인의 절충을 시도하여 실루엣은 전본 논문은 효율적인 성격분장 과정을 제시하여 무용공연에 있어서 중요한 시각표현매체로서의 무대분장의 방향을 제시하기 위함이다. 또한 그리이스시대 무대의상의 특징적 요소인 가면을 코러스에 착용시켰으며 의상은 단조로움을 피하기 위해 두벌을 디자인 하였다. 색상은 어두운 간색을 사용하여 비극적 분위기를 나타내었으며 소재는 무거운 느낌이 나는 모직이나 우단, 크레이프 면 등을 사용하였다. 이상의 디자인을 통하여 무대의상이 갖는 시각환경으로서의 조형미와 극적 표현성을 함께 나타내고자 하였다.;This study put the purpose on the research of design in the stage costume centering the 'Antigone' by Sophocles. To begin with, therefore, the study have the theoretical investigation about the stage setting, the stage lighting, the make-up and the costume of constituent elements. Also the Greek dress and ornaments of work's background, the stage costume of the tragedy in those days, and the stage costume of Greek tragedy in the modern theater were compared through the photographs. The stage costume unlike the everyday dress is the clothes which the actors wear, so it must balance with all the elements of the stage such as the set, the background and the lighting and have to agree to the work analysis of the producer as well. Moreover the stage costume can supply the informations like the character expression of the actor, the social state, the job, the age and the sex and must aid in order to coincide with the content of drama visually in the lines when the actor moved. The design of this study attempted the compromising between the drapery costume, a base style of the Greek dress and ornaments and the modern design. The general silhouette was made so as to have the nonsymmetry by emphasizing the slant line and the modern design attempted primarily the pattern and the cloth itself. The feature of stage costume in the Greek period can listed the long sleeve, the high-he-eled boots and the mask which can not be seen in everyday dress then the most featured one among them can be seen as the use of the mask. Thus this study put the mask on the chorus costume and then designed the two clothes so as to avoid the monotonousness. In the coloration the tragic atmosphere was presented by using the dark compound colors, and in the materials the woolen fabric, the velvet, and the crape clothe were used, which created the grave and generous mood. This study tries to express the plastic beauty as the visual environment of stage costume and the dramatic expression together through the design mentioned above.
