Abstract

現代 美術의 출발점은 現代 美術의 본질을 규정하는 관점에 따라 다르게 정해질 수 있으나 20C 초기부터 시작된 美術의 전반적인 抽象繪畵 경향을 現代 美術과 그 表現의 출발점으로 보며 이후 새로운 이즘(ism)과 운동의 연속으로 이어진다. 제 2 차 세계 대전 후 야수파, 입체파, 미래주의 超現實主義로 이어지는 복합적인 요소를 모두 포함하는 抽象表現主義가 태동하게 된다. 抽象表現主義는 입체파에 대한 반발의 극복과 表現主義와 超現實主義를 이해하는 태도 속에서 나타났으며, 內的 必然性과 畵面의 自發的 卽興性을 중요시하는 Action-painting으로 전개된다. 60년대에 이르러서는 Pop art, Kinetic art, Object art로 이어지며 70년대에는 색·형·화면의 깊이가 감소되어 平面化된 畵面으로 되는 미국의 Minimal art, 유럽의 Support/Surface등의 繪畵的 경향으로 구체화 되기에 이르렀다. 이러한 繪畵의 다양한 상황 속에서 本人은 抽象表現主義에 관심을 갖게 되어 作品 製作을 통하여 삶의 經驗 속에서 접하는 自然의 이미지 또는 心理 상태와 이에 대한 感情의 조화 속에서 이루어진 內面世界를 自由意志의 行爲에 의하여 統合시키며 이에 따른 方法論으로 內的必然의 行爲와 물감의 유동성과 우연의 효과를 통하여 表現하고자 硏究에 임하게 되었다.;The purpose of this study is to provide a beneficial foundation which can help our understanding about the coincident work. For this, a larger part of the paper was paid to reviews in the general trend of modern painting, and, then, which was followed by some elucidative statements pertaining to the work. For short of the contents reviewed, first, the fountainhead of modern art is viewed as started with the general tendency of abstraction began from early 20th century, though it may be defined differently according to the various viewpoints by which the true nature of modern art is defined. From this tendency toward abstraction, at last, it was encountered to the appearance of the abstract-expressionism which ranged over such sequential elements that would include Fauvism, cubism, futurism and surrealism, and, then, again, abstract-expressionism further developed into Action-painting. Again, getting to the 60's, those modes like Pop art, Kinetic art and Object art, ud, then, in the 70's, Minimal art, Support/surface and so on have expressed their own traits of variety. In this variegated field of painting, especially from a standpoint of abstract-expressionism, the work has pursued to integrate and express, by the action of the free-will, the inner worlds which are constituted in the 'image of nature', 'psychological conditions' encountered in everyday experiences, or in the 'harmony of passion', hence, methodologically making use of such elements that may be expressed with the words: "action of inner-necessity", "fluidity of color". and "effect of accident."
