종합병원 외래진료부 대기공간의 실내환경 Design에 관한 연구

Abstract

현재 우리나라의 보건·의료분야는 경제력의 향상과 국민보건에 대한 사회적 관심의 증대 및 과학적 의학기술의 발달, 의료보장제도의 정착화등에 의해 보건 의료의 수요가 급증하고 있는 실정이다. 그에 따라 제반 의료시설 및 자원에 있어서 양적인 시설확충과 아울러, 의료환경의 질적인 향상과 목적에 따르는 합리적인 환경조성이 필요하게 됨으로써 기능적 문제의 해결뿐만 아니라 포괄적 의료의 개념에 입각하여, 보다 인간적이며, 완전한 의료환경의 제공이 요구되어지기에 이르렀다. 병원의 제반 물리적·심리적 환경은 하나의 메카니즘을 갖고 다양한 형태의 사용자들의 의식상태 및 행위패턴에 매우 큰 영향을 주고 있으며 특히, 정신적·신체적으로 불안한 상태에 있는 환자에게는 더욱 큰 영향을 주고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 의료의 장으로서 종합병원 외래진료부 대기공간내 메인로비부문을 중심으로 하여 실내환경 디자인 계획을 위한 방안을 제시하고자 하며 이를 통하여 포괄적, 전체적인 관점에서 환경의 문제를 해결함으로써 사용자 모두에게 효율적이며 쾌적하고 심미적인 환경을 제공해 주고자 한다. 즉, 사용자와 제공되는 환경이 하나로 조화를 이룬 이상적인 실내환경의 모델을 개발하여 제시하고자 하는 것으로 이러한 궁극적인 계획목표에 도달하기 위한 본 연구의 진행과정 및 관련요소의 디자인화 특징은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 종합병원 외래진료부 대기공간의 메인로비부문 실내환경상의 사회적, 기능적인 문제제기와 더불어, 이에 따르는 연구목적 및 배경을 밝히고, 연구대상 및 범위를 설정하며, 연구의 진행과정과 디자인 방법을 체계화하였다. 둘째, 본 연구와 관련되는 기존의 문헌과 자료를 다학문적 접근방식에 의해 고찰하며 이를 통해 본 연구를 위한 기본자료를 수집한다. 이러한 이론적 고찰에 의해 종합병원 대기공간의 실내환경의 개념과 특성을 파악하였다. 셋째, 종합병원 외래진료부 대기공간 실내환경개선의 결정요인을 사회적, 기능적, 사용자적 요인으로 세분하여 모든 환경여건들을 조사, 분석함으로써 실내환경개선의 타당성을 밝히며 이 모든 상황들을 수용할 수 있는 합리적, 구체적인 종합병원 대기공간내 실내환경디자인의 기본방향을 모색하기 위한 전제적인 대안으로 삼았다. 넷째, 기존 종합병원 외래진료부 대기공간내 실내환경의 실체를 파악하기 위해 현황을 조사, 분석하였다. 분석방법으로는 병원환경을 구성하고 있는 요소들을 세분하여 기능 및 상호관련성을 사회적, 심리적, 생리적, 환경미학적 측면등 다각적인 측면에서 분석하였고, 분석된 결과를 객관적으로 올바르게 평가하기 위해 환경평가 언어를 사용하여 평가기준을 설정, 이에 의해 종합병원 외래진료부 대기공간의 실내환경의 적합성 여부를 평가하였고 또한, 외국의 현황도 사진으로서 분석하여 본 연구를 위한 참고자료로 삼았다. 조사, 평가, 분석된 결과에 의하면 현재 우리나라 종합병원 외래진료부 대기공간의 실내환경은 대부분 사용자 수에 비해 공간의 절대적인 협소함과 시설적으로도 불충분하며 불합리하고 비현실적인 실내환경으로, 수량적인 의료시설의 팽창에 비해 질적인 변화가 이루어지지 않음으로 인해 적절하고도 풍부한, 포괄적인 의료환경의 제공이라는 병원환경의 본질적이고도 당위적인 목적과는 매우 거리가 먼 실정이었다. 다섯째, 조사된 기존의 문헌 및 자료와 결정요인분석에 따른 실내환경개선의 타당성과 현황분석결과 도출된 문제점을 기반으로하여 디자인상의 개념적 틀을 정립하고 디자인과정의 모델을 체계화시킴으로써 그 개념의 대안을 제시하였다. 즉, 종합병원 외래진료부 대기공간내의 실내환경은 다양한 형태의 사용자의 심리적, 행태적 요구조건과 의료환경의 본질적 의미와 실체에 따르는 기능적 요구조건등을 충족시킬 수 있도록 물리적 요소 및 감각적요소를 이상적으로 합일, 조화시키는 종합디자인의 개념하에 이를 전개시켜 나감으로써 실내환경의 질적인 향상과 목적에 따른 합리적 이상적인 환경을 조성하고자 한다. 여섯째, 종합병원 외래진료부 대기공간내 메인로비부문의 실내환경개선을 위한 디자인 및 그 과정을 통해 얻은 결론으로서, 종합병원 외래진료부 대기공간의 실내환경은 모든 사용자들에게 미치는 영향이 총체적이며, 특히 환자의 경우 환경에 의한 영향이 더욱 지배적이므로 병원에 있어서 인간과 환경사이의 상호작용 및 관련성에 대한 문제해결은 종합병원 환경의 시스템내에서 다양한 여러 요소가 일관성을 지닌 구조적 합일체로서 질서를 이루며 의료시설의 특성인 성장과 변화에도 대응할 수 있는 융통성 있는 디자인개념이 필요하다 하겠다.;As the demand for better health and medical service increases rapidly due to economic growth, expanding medicare and growing social interest in national health, the improvement of medial environment as well as the expansion of medical facilities and resources appears to be inevitable for a hospital. Viewd from the concept of a comprehensive medical care, hospitals are naturally required to creat a more human and complete medical environment. In this respect, hospital environment is a mechanism which influences various types of users' emotion and behavior. Especially, a patient in mentally and physically unstable health is subjected to be affected by it much greater than anybody else. The purpose of this thesis is to propose and ideal interior environmental design for the main lobby as a place of medical care in general hospitals, and to help them provide an effective, comfortable and esthetic environment for all users through this design concept. In other words, this research is aimed at developing and presenting an ideal design model for interior environment so that an environment created by it may be in harmony with users. The following is the framework of this thesis : 1. In the first place, this part raises the interior environmental problems over the main lobby area of general hospitals in the social and functional aspects, and then explains the aim and background of this thesis. The object and range of this research is also limited and set up here. This part systemizes the process and design method of the research. 2. By means of multi-disciplinary approach this part surveys the published books and materials concerned with the subject of this thesis, and collects basie materials for this research from them. The concepts and characteristics of the interior environment of general hospital's main lobbies are defined from the theoretical surveys. 3. In this part, all the environmental factors to determine the improvability of main lobbies are divided from the social functional and user's point of view and then analyzed. The survey, therefore, suggests alternatives for environmental improvement seeking a reasonable and concrete direction of interior environmental design for those waiting spaces. 4. The present situations of the interior environment of general hospital's main lobbies are investigated and analyzed in order to exactly understand the problems concerned. The method of analysis is to divide the components of hospital environment into several groups, and then analyze the functions and inter-relationship of them in the aspects of socialogy, psychology, physiology and environmental esthetics. The evaluation criteria introduced in this part have been set up for the objective and correct evaluation of the analysis results. Whether the interior environment of a main lobby is acceptable or not depends on these criteria for which an environment evaluation language is used. This survey also studied cases of foreign countries by analyzing some photographs referential materials. Analysis shows that most of the interior environments of general hospital's main lobbies in Korea are so narrow and irreasonable that they do not provide an appropriate and abundunt medical environment for users. This means they should make a qualitative change in medical environment as well as quantitative expansion in medical facilities in pursuit of their essential and original purpose of existence. 5. In this part, the problems found in the hospital environments are analyzed and synthesized so that an ideal model of design process may be established. That is, introducing the concept of comprehensive design, which ideally unites the physical factors and the emotional ones together, into hospital environment, we can achieve an ideal medical environment which is qualitatively improved in accordance with its essential goals. 6. The conclusion from the proposed design and its process to improve the interior environment of general hospital's main lobbies is that the hospital environment has an overall effect upon its users and even an absolute effect especially upon patients. Therefore, a flexible design concept, a structural combination with its various elements in consistency and harmony, is required to be developed so as to solve the problems concerning the interrelationship between man and environment in hospital. It should be one that can be adjustable to the change and expansion of medical facilities.
