작업환경 개선을 위한 환경색채 디자인에 관한 연구

Abstract

Environmental color can be understood on the basis of the man-environment relationship as an element of preserving the aesthetic value, and is connected with the human' s survival and safety. In social-cultural respect, it is a part of the environmental issue connected with the using of color. In this study, it was intended to control the environmental information for changing into the positive environment and behavior in the framework of the man-environment relationship, by dealing with the issue of environmental color. The assumption underlined for the study was that positive behavior and psychological satisfaction of human can be achieved by controling the environmental color that has an important effect on behavior, thought and mentality of man-work-environment relationship. The aim of this study was to improve the quality of human life and to humanize the environment at work by the color design. The process of environmental color design was as follows ; 1. The aim, range and object of this study were defined and the method was described. 2. The effect and function of environmental color were suggested on the basis of its concept. ^(*)Environmental color was defined as the social-cultural issue in the frame of man-environment relationship, by understanding environment as the information system. ^(*)The perception of environmental color and characteristics of color can be examined closely through Gestalt Theory. Environmental color has an effect on man continuously, so, health, safety and work of man can be influenced by color. Environmental color performs the aesthetic function, such as efficiency, symbol, and identification by the effective using of environmental color. 3. Environmental color problem was examined more closely in the socialistic view and the actual problem of environmental color was suggested by the investigation into factories. ^(*)7 companies were selected to examine the present condition of color. The investigation was done by the division of surface color, figure-ground relationship and functional usie of color. The results of investigation was indicated by the Munsell Notation. The present color condition was evaluated as the monotonous, unfit for working, and uncertain information system that information flow was not effective. Therefore, it was unfit for working, exerts bad effect on safety and efficiency, contains ambiguity and uncertainty of environmental perception, and makes it impossible to have the good visual and psychological experience. 4. A device of environmental color design was suggested on the basis of references, theories and problems investigated, by the course of reasonable design process. ^(*)The concept of design was defined as a purpose generating system that controls and generates the environmental information system, and the process of forming concept was systematized. ^(*)The object of this study was selected, and the characteristics of object and work flow structure was examined. The content of color investigation was analyzed and the problem was described. ^(*)The plan and aim of environmental color design were suggested as a whole. Based on the theory of Judd and Birren's color harmony and British Standards Institution's Framework for color co-ordination for building purpose, the environment color design alternatinve was suggested. ^(*)The environmental color design was suggested to be a clear and obvious information flow system. The validity of this design was evaluated whether it had the functional-aesthetic fitness. The design design was evaluated to be fit 5. The environmental color was an effective element to generate and preserve the positive behavior. Therefore, induction of environmental design in company exerts an effect on work, and the fact that it can improve the health, safety, efficiency, communication, and aesthetic experience was confirmed. The environmental color is the effective media to make a qualitive stability of environment, and the indispensibility and value of this kind of study has to be acknowledged.;환경색채는 인간-환경 관계를 바탕으로 이해되며 인간의 생존과 안전에 직결되고 미적가치를 지키는데 필요한 요소로서 사회·문화적 차원에서 보아 색채사용과 관계있는 환경문제의 한 부분으로 정의된다. 인간은 막대한 색채 정보속에서 생활하고 있으면서도 그 가치의 중요성에 무관심한 것이 사실이다. 그러나 색채는 환경정보로써 작용하여 인간의 생리·심리·사고에 영향미치므로 그 중요성이 더욱 강조된다. 따라서 환경색채는 환경문제로서 이해되며, 이러한 환경문제에 대한 포괄적 계획과 창조의 과정인 환경색채 디자인은 인공적 환경으로서의 도시의 질과 가치라는 측면에서 중대한 의미를 지니며, 환경의 양적 팽창에서 질적 안정화로의 전환기에서 필연적으로 요청되는 시대적 요구라고 생각된다. 본 연구에서 대상으로 선정한 산업체 작업환경은 성장만을 지나치게 강조해온 사회적 맥락속에서 무관심하게 방치되어 왔다. 그러나 회색의 기계적 환경은 인간의 소외를 결과 짓게 하며 창의적이고 목적적인 인간행위에 저해 요인으로 작용하게 된다. 따라서 인간적이고 긍정적인 환경을 조성하는 것은 근로자의 쾌적한 작업환경을 위한 산업복지의 일부 일뿐 아니라 작업능률향상을 위한 긍정적인 투자의 일부로 생각될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 인간-환경 관계라는 틀 아래에서 환경색채를 다룸으로써 긍정적인 환경적·행위적 변화를 기대하는 환경정보의 조절을 목표한다. 본 연구는 인간 행동과 사고·심리에 중대한 영향을 미치는 환경색채의 조절, 즉 환경적 정보 조절을 통하여 긍정적 행위와 심리적 만족을 얻어낼 수 있다는 가정에서 출발한다. 이 연구의 관심사는 인간- 작업수행 -환경 관계를 둘러싼 환경색채 디자인에 있으며, 그 목적은 작업환경의 인간화와 인간생활의 질적 향상에 있다. 이와같은 환경색채 디자인 과정은 다음과 같다. 1. 연구의 목적과 범위를 규정하고 방법을 기술하였다. 2. 환경색채의 개별 설정을 바탕으로 그 영향과 기능을 살펴보았다. · 환경지각의 게쉬탈트 이론을 고찰하였고, 환경색채는 인간의 건강·안전·작업수행에 영향 미치므로, 그 영향을 효과적으로 이용하면 치료·안전· 능률·상징·동일시·미적 가치등을 고양시키는 기능을 수행한다는 것을 확인 하였다. 3. 사회적 문제의 하나로서 제기되는 산업체 작업환경의 현황을 조사하여, 현재의 환경색채 상황을 파악하고 분석하고 문제점을 도출하였다. · 산업체의 작업환경색채 현황을 알아보기 위하여 7개사를 선정하고, 색채조사를 실시하였다. 조사는 표면색에 대하여 실시·분석하였고 먼셀표시법에 의거 표기하였다. · 조사된 결과는 단조로움, 작업에 부적합, 정보유통이 원활하지 않은 불확실한 정보체계로 평가되었다. 따라서 작업에 부적합하고, 안전과 능률에 나쁜 영향을 주며, 환경지각의 모호성·불확실성을 가중시키고, 바람직한 미적·심리적 경험을 불가능하게 하는 문제점이 도출되었다. 4. 조사된 문헌자료와 이론적 배경을 바탕으로 합리적인 디자인 과정에 따라 현황의 문제점을 개선하는 환경색채 디자인 안을 제안 하였다. · 정보 체계로서의 환경을 조절하는 디자인 개념을 정의하고 그 과정을 체계화 하였으며, 대상의 작업유통 구조를 파악하고 환경색채의 문제점을 서술하였다. · 쥬드와 비렌의 조화론을 기저로 영국 표준 연구소의 건축적 목적을 위한 색채 코오디네이션 기준을 설명·제시하고 이에 따라 명료하고 확실한 정보유통체계로 계획한 디자인안을 제시하였다. · 이 계획과정은 사회적 관련·행동의 지원·상징적 동일화 측면에서 기능적이고 적합함으로 평가되었다. 5. 환경색채는 긍정적 행동을 조성·유지하는데 큰 영향을 미치는 요소이며 따라서, 산업체에서의 환경색채 디자인 도입은 작업자의 작업수행에 영향미쳐 건강·안전·능률·코뮤니케이션, 미학적 경험을 증진시킬 수 있음을 확인하였다. 환경색채는 환경의 질적 안정화를 달성할 수 있는 효과적인 매체이며 그 연구의 필요성이 증대되고 가치성이 인정되어야 한다.
