Tapestry의 재료와 질감표현에 관한 연구

Abstract

In modern art, fiber arts has gone object of concern as the artistic medium which has limitless potential powers because of magnification of material and possibility of its medium. Fiber arts takes off material and form which have kept the fixed conception of art previously, then it was played important role that it is enlarged modeling sympathy as new material and skill, which can free imagination. Therefore, as the expression of fiber arts, the understanding and study of the material became important subject above all. As modeling expression of a work of fiber arts by new material of modern fiber arts, this theory was regarded as the purpose of study which is attempt of creative and original method. Also as production of works, it was tried to get new recognition on the modeling space through works of irregular form which is leading visual space magnification of plane, through this irregular form, it was attempted work which is drawn feature of human nature as pursuing fundamental life, and which is tried to give depth of life. Such as free creative subjectivity, in the process of fiber work expression, it was reached the following result. First, texture is the most important expressive factor, and author must express compositively both original character of material and suitable method. Second, in order to produce creative and original fiber work, there needs absolutely various skill and reform of method, development of new material. Third, I think that fop peculiar and creative value, it is inquired into mental subject of inner process successively, then, when external expression skill and value of internal mind is harmonized without fear or favor, it can make a work of fiber arts of true meaning.;현대미술에서 섬유예술이 무한한 잠재력을 지닌 예술적 매체로서 관심의 대상이 되어온 것은 재료의 확대와 그 매체가 지닌 가능성 때문이었다. 섬유예술은 종래에 고착된 예술의 개념이었던 재료와 형식을 탈피가 새로운 재료와 기법으로 자유로운 상상력을 펼 수 있는 조형적 공감대를 넓혀주는 중요한 역할을 하였다. 그러므로 섬유예술을 표현하는데 있어서 재료의 이해와 연구는 무엇보다도 중요한 과제가 되고있다. 또한 작품제작에 있어서도 평면에서의 시각적 공간 확대를 유도하는 부조적 형태의 작품으로 조형적 공간에 대한 새로운 인식을 얻고자 하였으며 이 부조적 형태를 통하여 근원적인 삶을 추구하는 인간의 본연의 모습을 그리고 삶의 깊이를 부여하려는 작업을 시도하였다. 이를 위하여 더욱 다양하고 새로운 소재 개발의 필요성이 인지되고, 따라서 섬유예술가들은 우선 자신이 구현하고자 하는 이미지 전달을 위한 재료를 선택하고 그 재료에 합당한 표현을 창출해 내는 것이 매우 중요한 일이 된다. 따라서 본인은 현대 섬유 예술작가들이 서로 다른 섬유재료를 가지고 시도한 작품을 분석하고 형태와 재료의 조화를 조감하여 보며, 면사를 이용한 Tapestry의 질감표현을 위한 작품을 시도하였다.
