Metaphor의 공간 연구

Abstract

본 논문에서는 Haley의 Metaphor이론과 이에 대한 Lunsford의 어휘체계를 중심으로 지훈의 공간의식을 밝혀 본다. Haley의 Metaphor (공간)이론은 일상언어의 어휘를 아홉단계로 구분하여 각 아홉단계는 포함관계를 형성한다. 이때 각 층위의 공간성의 좁고 넓음으로 심리 공간이 형성된다. 구체적으로 말하면 인간⊂동물⊂생물⊂사물⊂지구 주위의 것⊂물질⊂에너지를 주는 것⊂우주⊂존재의 순이다. 각 계층간에 한 계층에서 다른 계층으로 이동할 때 metaphor가 발생하는데 계층이동 양상을 추적해보면 공간의식을 알 수 있다. Lunsford는 Haley의 어휘계층을 서술어 중심에서 명사와 서술어로 확대하여 적용의 편리와 그 실용성을 도모했다. 이 같은 metaphor와 공간의식의 결합은 총체적이며 유기적인 연구방법으로, 언어학을 기저로 한 구조주의 방법론에서 세밀하나 부분적이라는 문제점을 탈피할 길을 열어준다. 본론에서는 이 같은 방법론을 지훈시에 적용하여 그 효과여부를 알아봄과 동시에 지훈의 공간의식이 변화하는 양상을 살펴보았다. 추천기 이전의 계열인 「지옥기」와 초기 작품 계열인 「풀잎단장」에서 「山雨集」까지는 공간의식의 축소가 일어난다. 이 두 계열을 구분하는 것은 존재계층으로 「지옥기」에 나타나던 존재계층이 「풀잎단장」부터 「山雨集」까지에는 나타나질 않는다. 그러나 이 두 계열은 모두 인간지향성 의식을 갖고 인간계층이나 동물계층으로 이동한다. 다른 계층들의 속성이 인간화 되는 것이다. 이는 인간존재가 어떤 다른 대상보다도 우위에 있다는 지훈의 의식을 대변해주는 것이다. 「풀잎단장」에서는 禪意識을 바탕으로 공간의 무한확대와 무한축소가 일어나 한계가 소멸된다. 각 계층간의 구별이 없어지고 인간도 생물도 우주도 같다는 등식이 성립된다. 이 시기는 인간우위의 사상을 버리고 禪思想에 의거한 평등의식을 특색으로 한다. 「역사 앞에서」는 존재계층에서 인간계층으로 인간계층에서 존재계층으로의 축소와 확대가 함께 일어나며 다시 인간우위사상으로 복귀한다. 「여운」에서는 축소의식이 다시 나타나고 자연·사물 지향성이 나타난다. 이 시기에는 여러 계층의 속성을 자연·사물화하는 경향이 나타나고 인간계층도 예외는 아니다. 이상의 논의에서 지훈의 시를 Metaphor의 공간적 양상이라는 한 가지 관점에서 고찰하였다.;In this paper, I attempt to verify Ji Hun's consciousness of space by Haley's spatial theory and Runsford's the set of Lexical category. Haley's spatial metaphor classifies the Lexicon of ordinary language into nine levels, by which each forms the relation of involvement, Such relation, which is determined by the scale of each class, causes to form psycholinguistic space. To be concrete I can put following examples, Human c Animate c Livingc Object c Terristrial c Substantial c Energeric c Cosmic c Being. When a class moves to another, metapher is formed by the movement, at this point I can find the consciousness of space by means of examining the movement. Lunsford makes Haley's Lexical class useful and easy in order to apply to the text, which is magnifgied from the set of predicative category to predicative and noun category, The combination of the metaphor and consciousness of space is total and organic methodology, which helps to overcome the problem in structualism, spacific but fragmentary, based or linguistics. In the main subject, I examine the effect and the aspect of Ji Hun's spacial consciousness by applying this method to his poems. In 「Jiocky」, written before the time of recommendation and 「Pulipdanjang 」- 「Sanujip」, written in his early days, reduction of spatial consciousness take place, Each part distnguished by Being class which is indicated in 「Jickgy」, is not indicated 「Pulipdanjang」-「Sanujip.」 But in these two ages, there is human directional consciousness, then other classes transfer to Human or Animate class. Characteristic of other class become humanized, It explains his consciousness which human being is superior to any other being. In 「Pulipdanjang」, there is the consciousness of infinite extension and reduction of space based on Zen, in the result limits of space and each class is god rid of. By which the distinction in each class is disapperared, human and livingand cosmos are the same, This age is characterized by the consciousness of equality based on Zen than of Human beings superiority, In 「Yeocksa Apeseo」 reduction and extension happen at the same time from being class to human class, and reversely. And Ji Hun return to the human superiority. In 「Jeoun」, cot, sciousness of reduction apperars again and apperars nature - objectsdirectional consciousness. In this age character of many classes tend to naturalization-objectivity. Human class is not except, either- Through such argutment I examin Ji Hun's poem in the same way which is the spatial aspect of poetic consciousness.
