학교 도서관 Public Relations에 관한 연구

Abstract

In the field of education, it is necessary for the students to use a library for their learning. Putting the materials in a library to practical use cam lead the school education to success. Therefore, a school library can be used as a center of a school education. This thesis investigated actual condition of the Public Relations of 30 school libraries and 89 teachers’ and 943 students’ knowledge of the libraries in order to find out the effective Public Relations of a school library by using the questionnaire. As a result, first, the regular library education plan should be prepared for the whole students. When the plan is managed as a regular lesson, the guidance of reading and using a library can be effective. Second, in spite of a librarian's most effective service of a teacher's educational activities, a librarian just lend books to the teachers. Third, due to the 'teacher-text-lecture-memorizing" education, most of the teachers rarely recommend the students to use the books in the library. So the library education is necessary for the teachers. Fourth, the reason why teachers do not use a library is the insufficiency of the materials in the library. So more materials must be kept step by step and in balance. Fifth, the gazette of a library, the publication, the exhibition of books, the school broadcasting, and the bulletin-board should be used for the activities of Public Relations of a school library to the utmost. For the development of a school library, we should illuminate the programs of Public Relations. Nevertheless, librarians themseleves are lacking in understanding about the development of them. Librarians should be trained and library science education is necessary. For the development of the program, adequate policy and budget should be preceded. It is necessary for the Education Authorities, the Board of Education, and the association of libraries to hold the service training about the Public Relations of a school library and award those with excellent achievements.;교육현장에서 도서관이용은 학습활동에 필수적이며, 도서관자료를 효과적으로 활용함으로써 학교 교육을 성공적으로 이끌어 갈 수 있다. 그리하여 학교 도서관은 학교 교육의 중심센터로서의 구실을 다하게 될 것이다. 본 논문은 효과적인 학교 도서관 Public Relations 방안을 모색하고 연구하고자 89명의 교사와 943명의 학생을 대상으로 질문지법을 사용하여 도서관에 대한 인식도와 이용실해를 파악하고 또한 30개의 학교 도서관을 대상으로 Public Relations실태를 조사하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 전교생에게 정기적으로 실시할 수 있는 도서관 교육계획이 마련되어져야 하며 정규적인 학과목 시간으로 일원화될때 비로서 정보화시대에 따르는 독서지도와 이용지도의 실효를 거둘 수 있을 것이다. 둘째, 사서교사가 가장 큰 효과를 기대할 수 있는 서비스는 교사의 교육 활동을 도와주는 일임에도 불구하고 현재 학교 도서관의 교사에 대한 봉사로서는 도서대출요구에 응하는 것에 불과한 실정이다. 세째, "교사-교과서-강의-암기" 교육으로 인하여 대다수의 교사들은 학생들이 도서관의 책을 찾아 보도록 권장하는 교수방법에 대한 인식이 부족하므로 교사에 대한 도서관 교육이 필요하게 된다. 넷째, 교사들이 도서관을 이용하지 않는 가장 큰 이유는 도서관의 자료가 부족한 것으로서 단계적이고 균형 있는 자료의 확충이 요구된다. 다섯째, 도서관보 및 간행물, 도서전시회, 교내방송, 게시판을 이용한 학교 도서관 Public Relations활동에 적극적인 노력이 기울여져야 한다. PR프로그램에 주의를 기울이는 것이야 말로 학교 도서관 발전에 하나의 지름길이 되는 것임에도 불구하고 사서교사 자신이 이에 대한 인식이 매우 희박한 실정이다. 도서관학 교육이나 사서교사들의 연수를 통한 인식의 고취가 필요하며 프로그램을 위한 정책의 배려 및 예산의 강력한 뒷받침이 선행되어야 한다. 문교부나 교육위원회 그리고 도서관협회 등에서 도서관 PR 연수대회등을 개최하여 우수사례를 시상하는 방법이 모색되는 것이 바람직하다.
