타피스트리와 자수의 특성에 대하여

Abstract

현대에 이르러 모든 예술분야에 있어 이념적 분열 상태에서 종합화 에로 지향해야 한다고 생각한다. 섬유예술에 있어서도 자수, 직조, 매듭, 편물, 염색등의 여러분야로 분화 되는데 특히 직조와 자수가 따로이 구별되어 존재하여 설수 없는 창작예술 작품의 차원에서 제작하여 새로운 쟝르를 전개 시키고자 하였다. 타피스트리와 자수는 분리 할수없는 유기적 관계에서 각자의 조형적 특성과 가치를 접합하여 타피스트리만으로는 표현될 수 없는 보다 다른 차원을 이룩하고자 하였다. 역사적으로 미루어보아 고대의 타피스트리와 자수는 예술성 보다는 실용성 위주였고 재료나 기법 면에서 많은 제한을 받았다. 인간의 의생활 주생활과 관계있는 실용성에서 부터 시작하여 중세에는 왕실과 귀족을 중심으로한 장식적 기능을 거쳐 오늘날의 감상의 대상으로 조형적인 기능을 시도하기에 이른 것이다. 본 논문에서는 섬유예술의 중요한 몫을 차지한 타피스트리와 자수와의 결합에 있어 새로운 조형미를 발견하고 우리문화의 전통과 멋을 현대의 생활감정에 맞게 되살리고자 색감과 재료의 질감 표현에 노력을 기울였고 두 분야의 특성을 나타내고자 했으며 앞으로의 산업화 양산(量産)의 전망을 펴 보고자 하였다. 도처에 있는 그 자체로는 평범하고 별 의미가 없는 소재와 현대산업이 제공하는 새로운 재료들을 놓고 이론적인 지식과 더불어 능숙한 테크닉을 연마하여 지적이고 창조적인 하나의 예술작품으로 승화시킬때 이것은 우리의 생활에 즐거움과 정서를 더하여 줄 뿐만이 아니라 현대미술 속에서 앞으로 두드러진 새로운 조형예술로 발전되는 것이다.;In the present day, it is considered that all the fields of arts have to head toward the composit art from the ideological dividing situation. In fabric art, it is also divided in various techniques; embroidery, weaving, knotting, knitting and dying, and especially, the weaving and embroidering are divided separately and they are made in the dimension of the works of creative art which be unable to exist together and to take a new turn. The tapestry and embroidery, in the organic relation which be unable to be divided, and its own plastic characteristics and values be binded and aims to get one more higher dimension which can't be manifested in only tapestry. Tracing historically, the ancient tapestry and embroidery have been put first in importance to the practicality than the artistry and they were subject to restriction anyhow in the materials and techniques. Beginning the practicality related to the clothes and shelter living of the human-being, through the decorative functions for the royal court and the nobilities in the Middle Ages, in the present days, it becomes plastic function as the object of appreciation. Therefore, this thesis aims to find a new plastic beauty in the binding the tapestry and embroidery which take a important portion of the fabric art, and to make a effort for the color sense and quality of material to restore fitting to modern living feeling for the tradition of our culture and taste, and try to open the future prospect of the industrialized mass-production. With the material plain and meaningless as itself in everyplace and new material furnished by the modern industry when they are bettered as an intellectual and creative work of art with the theoretical knowledge and expert techniques, it will add us the pleasure and feeling in our living, and also the development of a new and outstanding plastic art In the modern art in the future.
