타피스트리의 색채표현에 대한 연구

Abstract

Fiber which didn't have aesthetic meaning and was used only for decoration and practical use is now used as materials of the new type of art - fiber arts. Fiber arts is a particular field of the formative arts, expressing artists' personality and sense of beauty and established the new concept of art. Though in modern fiber arts 3-dimensional Types such as soft sculpture appears, I made tapestry by using traditional level weaving technique. In this process I recognized the importance of color effect and thought that effective use of color made a color and lively work. So, before making a work I studied on the concept and pecularity of tapestry as theoretical background and considered the visual mix of color in tapestry. Tapestry, which is different from pictures, expresses the formativity by physical materials. Also, since it uses similar technique to the Pointillisme of Neo-Impressionism, I studied the theory of color of Neo-Impressionism in the first place , approached to the constituent of pictures, and made tapestry. In my work I intended to interprete objectives with a view of subjectivity. For this, 1 expressed lively atmosphere by the effect of repeating horizontals and color. I got different touch from that of a brush by duplicating color yarn and aimed at expressing original color and describing objects clearly.;과거에는 예술로서 미학적 의식을 지니지 못하고 단지 장식적이고 실용적 범위에 그쳤던 섬유가 오늘날에 와서는 미술의 새로운 형식인 섬유예술의 재료로 사용되었고, 섬유예술은 작가의 개성과 미의식을 표현하는 조형예술의 특수한 분야로 그 새로운 가치개념을 수립하게 되었다. 현대 섬유예술에 있어서는 새로이 도입된 섬유조각(Soft Sculpture)등 3차원적인 형태들이 많지만 본인은 전통적인 평직기법에 의한 타피스트리 작품을 제작하였는데, 이러한 작품제작과정에 있어서 무엇보다 색채효과의 중요성을 인식하게 되었으며 색채를 효과적으로 사용하기만 한다면 작품이 더욱 명확하고 생동적으로 표현되어 질 수 있다는데 관심을 갖게 되었다. 따라서 본인은 작품제작에 앞서 이론적 배경으로 타피스트리의 개념과 특성을 알아본 후 타피스트리의 특성인 색채의 시각적 혼합에 대해 고찰하였다. 즉, 타피스트리는 회화와는 달리 재료가 가지고 있는 즉물적 실체성을 통해 조형성을 나타내며 또한 타피스트리 색채표현은 신인상주의의 점묘법과 유사한 기법을 사용하고 있으므로 신인상주의의 색채이론에 대해 알아본 후, 회화의 구성요인에 접근하여 타피스트리 작품을 제작하였다. 작품의 내용은 대상을 주관적인 시각으로 해석해 보려는 점에 그 의도를 두고 작품을 제작하였는데, 그 방법으로 거듭되는 수평선의 효과와 색채를 통해서 생동하는 듯한 느낌을 잡아 표현하였으며, 타피스트리 작품제작과정중 색사의 중첩된 색감속에서 붓으로 그리는 효과와는 또 다른 터치를 얻을 수 있었고 이러한 터치를 통하여 독자적인 색채감각과 확실한 묘사력으로 미적대상을 표현하려 하였다.
