현대건축과 현대회화의 관계성 고찰을 통한 환경디자인 연구

Abstract

현대사회에서 급속한 물질문명의 발달은 모든 기존의 구조나 가치를 재편성 시켰고 이는 인간의 삶을 더욱 복잡하고 각박한 환경에 방치시키는 결과를 초래하였다. 시대의 변화에 따른 의식의 전환에 따라 과거 디자인에 의해 만들어진 건축이나 도시환경은 인간의 삶이나 행태와 단절되는 여러 가지 문제점을 노출시키고 있어 이에 따른 해결안이 절실히 요구된다. 과거 모든 영역에 지배적인 영향을 행사해온 모더니즘에 대한 반발로 등장한 포스트 모더니즘 현상은 복합성과 다양성에 가치를 두며 장르간의 경계를 소멸하는 현상이 여러 분야에서 다양하게 나타나고 있다 이에 따라 사회, 문화, 예술의 모든 면에 있어서 과거의 고정적인 이념에서 탈피한 창의적 실험정신을 강조하고 총체적인 시각에 의한 접근이 가능하게 되었다. 이러한 관점에서 현대 미술과 건축의 관계성을 고찰하여 새로운 조형적 개념으로 환경디자인을 접근하려고 하였다. 또한 공간의 특성을 가장 효과적으로 나타내고 공간을 한정하는 빛을 통해 디자인을 구체화하였다. 본 연구의 내용과 구성은 다음과 같다. 제 1장에서는 연구의 배경과 목적, 범위와 방법을 서술하였다. 제 2장에서는 현대건축과 회화의 관계성을 고찰하였다. 우선 사조별로 간략하게 비교해본 후 최근 두 영역의 상호교류와 관계성에 대해 연구하였다. 제 3장에서는 현대회화와 건축의 관계성을 통해 도출된 개념을 빛을 통해 디자인 진행하였다. 빛은 공간을 한정 지우고 성격을 부여하는 역할을 한다. 빛은 다른 건축적 요소보다 공간의 성격을 부여하는데 적극적이며 효율적이다. 빛을 건축공간에서와 미술 두 분야에서 고찰한 후 빛의 회화적 접근인 Light art의 개념을 대상공간에 적용하였다. 제 4장에서는 연구대상을 지하철역사로 선정하고 대상지의 환경분석과정을 거쳐 2,3장에서 도출된 개념을 기반으로 디자인 방향을 설정하였다. 대상지에 적용 가능한 디자인 방안과 패턴언어를 추출하여 각 공간과 공간의 형태에 적용하였다. 지하철역사를 기능적인 측면보다는 형태 지각적 접근으로 디자인 과정을 진행하였다. 위의 과정을 통해 순수 조형예술의 개방성과 실험성을 환경디자인 과정에 도입 적용했을 때 순수한 조형 개념에서 디자인 개념을 이끌어내 디자인 도출을 했을 때 상징적이면서 독특한 환경디자인이 될 수 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. ‘관련예술’과의 밀접한 접촉을 통해서 환경디자인에 새로운 창조력이 이루어질 수 있다는 개념을 보여주었다. 또한 대중은 이러한 공간을 경험하면서 예술과의 커뮤니케이션(Communication)을 할 수 있다. 이러한 공간이 많아질수록 환경의 예술화, 예술의 대중화를 이룰 수 있다. ; The modern civilization changed the social structure and values of the past. This brought much more complexity and inhumanity to people s lives. Entering into the 21st century, people began to realize various problems of modern architecture and urban environment that broke the harmony between the nature and human life. Post-modernism, which emerged as a rebellion against modernism, emphasizes harmony and versatility, and breaks the boundary between genres. In many areas, creative experiments are encouraged and it provides dynamic and creative solutions to social, cultural and artistic problems. Knowing that such trends established the new relationship between contemporary art and architecture, I tried to approach environmental design with a new notion of structure, space and especially lighting that would emphasize the characteristics of a space. The content of this research is as followed: Chapter 1 treats the background, purpose, range and method of the research. It is followed by the second chapter that describes the relationship between contemporary architecture and art. A brief comparison of trends in both fields and their interactions are also covered. In Chapter 3, the role of lighting in the new notion of architecture is introduced. Not only does light define the space, but also it is one of the most active and effective architectural factors that would add characteristics to the given space. Looking into the role of light both in the architecture and in the fine art paintings, the notion of Light Art is applied to the subject matter. Being such, a subway station is thoroughly analyzed in the aesthetic point of view. The result of this analysis and the study in Chapter 2 and 3 propose the new direction of environmental design. The pattern languages and the new design direction are applied to the subject space. The design process focuses on the structure and aesthetics of the subject matter rather than its function. Through the entire research, certain conclusion has arrived that the symbolic and unique environment could be created when the experimentation and openness of fine art was applied to the design process. The combination of artistic trend and understanding popular culture could bring forward the effective environmental design. Experiencing such atmosphere, the public communicates better with the world of art. An effort to make our environment aesthetically beautiful brings people and art closer to each other. Bringing art to the spaces around us delivers art to the spaces inside our hearts.
