학교예배를 통한 청소년의 회심(回心)에 관한 연구

Abstract

청소년기는 신체적인 면, 인지적인 면, 도덕적인 면, 신앙적인 면에서 많은 변화를 겪는 시기라고 할 수 있다. 신체의 급격한 변화와 함께 인지적 발달을 경험하는 청소년들은 복음에 대해 좋은 반응을 보이는데 이는 청소년기에 종교에 대하여 많은 관심을 가지기 때문이다. 많은 연구조사에 의하면 이 청소년기에 회심하여 그리스도인이 된 비율이 다른 발달단계에서 보다 월등히 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 가치관을 형성하며 삶의 의미와 목적에 대해 고민하는 시기이기도해 불안정함과 동시에 많은 변화의 가능성을 안고 있는 때이다. 이러한 청소년기에는 이루어야 할 과제가 많은데 그 중에서도 자신의 정체성을 형성하는 것이 가장 중요하다. 이때 기독교 학교에서의 예배는 학생인 청소년들에게 회심의 기회를 제공함으로써 건전하고 바른 정체성을 찾도록 도울 수 있어야 할 것이다. 회심을 통하여 인간은 하나님과의 변화된 관계를 갖게 된다. 즉, 하나님으로부터 죄사함의 은총을 입어 의롭다 함을 선언 받은 상태이기 때문에 자신을 수용할 수 있게 된다. 그리하여 모든 자기 증오, 자기 경멸, 자기 부정은 사라진다. 그리고 잃어버렸던 정체감을 되찾아 삶의 목적이 변한다. 또한 회심을 통해 새로운 성품을 소유하게 된다. 새로운 성품을 소유하게 되면 삶의 방식이 매우 달라지게 된다. 다른 사람들에 대한 새로운 사랑을 나누게 되고, 새로운 인생관으로 사물을 바라보게 되고 새로운 삶의 원리로 판단함으로써 행동에서 변화를 경험하게 된다. 이러한 회심은 정체성을 형성해가는 청소년들에게 긍정적인 영향을 줄 것이다. 본 논문은 학교 예배와 청소년의 회심에 대한 이론적 고찰을 통해 청소년 회심의 중요성에 대해 논하고, 현행 기독교 학교에서 드려지는 예배에 대한 실태 분석과 학생들의 회심 경험을 조사하여 학교 예배를 통한 회심의 가능성을 연구하였다. Ⅰ장에서는 기독교 학교에서 행해지는, 기독교 교육의 하나로서의 예배의 중요성과 학교 예배의 특수성을 제시하였다. 또 회심이 많이 일어나는 연령을 청소년기라고 보고, 이들을 구성원으로 하는 학교 예배를 통한 회심의 필요성을 언급하였다. 아울러 보다 많은 회심을 일어나게 할 수 있는 예배가 요구됨을 지적하였으며, 본 연구의 방법과 제한점도 서술하였다. Ⅱ장에서는 학교 예배와 청소년기의 정체성 형성을 비롯한 청소년의 여러 특성들에 대해 기술하였다. 또한 회심의 의미 고찰과 함께 회심을 그 내용에 따라 4가지로 분류하였으며, 이로써 학교 예배와 청소년 회심의 관계에 대해 추론해 보았다. Ⅲ장은 학교 예배를 통한 청소년의 회심에 대한 실태와 가능성을 알아보기 위해 서울 시내 감리교계 중학교 4개를 중심으로 조사하였다. 설문을 통해 학교 예배의 현황을 알아보고, 예배를 통해 청소년들에게서 나타나는 회심의 유형과 정도를 분석해 보았다. Ⅳ장에서는 본 논문의 요약 및 실태 분석을 통해 발견한 청소년의 회심을 가능하게 하는 학교 예배에 대한 제언으로 마무리하였다. ; The adolescent experience lots of changes physically, cognitively, morally, and religiously. The adolescent, experiencing the cognitive development with drastic physical change, respond to the Good News, too. Many researchers have said that the percentage of conversion in the adolescence is much higher than any other period. The adolescent have an interest in religion. Because they wonder about the meaning and purpose of life, this period is unstable as well as open for the change. The adolescence is the period for the identity formation among many developmental stakes. Worship in mission schools can help them to find the proper identity by giving them the chance to conversion experience. By the way, people get new relationship with God through conversion experience. Because they are regarded as righteous by God s grace, they can accept their own new identity. They can remove self-hatred, self-contempt, and self-denial. By redeeming their lost identity, they have the changed purpose of life. Secondly, with new personality they have the new attitude of life. They share their love for others, see the world with new meanings of life, experience the behavioral change with new principles of life. This kind of conversion experience can give positive influence for the adolescent who are establishing the new identity. This thesis is an attempt for the discussion of the importance of the adolescent s conversion experience. It reviewed the literature on the school worship and their conversion experience. By conducting the question are this thesis tries to find the patterns of the adolescent s conversion experience through school worship. In chapter Ⅰ, the importance of worship and the idiosyncrasy of school worship is suggested as a means of christian education in mission schools. The adolescence is regarded as a period for the conversion experience. And the necessity of the conversion experience through school worship is mentioned. It is also pointed out that the worship which can be the means for conversion experience be needed. The research method and its limits are also mentioned. Chapter Ⅱ is about school worship and the adolescent’s idiosyncrasy and their identity. The meaning of conversion experience is reviewed. Their conversion experience are categorized in four ways according to its contents. And the relationship between school worship and their conversion experience is reviewed. Chapter Ⅲ is about the research result conducted in four methodist mission schools in Seoul. The patterns and levels of their conversion experience is analyzed. In chapter Ⅳ, the summary of the thesis and its implications for school worship for the adolescent’s conversion experience is suggested.
