다문화주의에 기초한 전통미술문화 교육프로그램 연구

Abstract

A long time proper pride of our nation that has been emphasized pedigree and tradition as a singular nation is one of precious that has to be conserved even though rapid growing of the modern civilization has been making the distance narrow of regions and cultures on earth. Under these present circumstances that a number of emigrant or sojourner in foreign countries increase rapidly in the wave of global, overseas Korean might be a part as a diplomatist and a publicist, they are also an important human resources that can influence the future of our nation as a supporter for growing state economy. Even though they have learned another languages and cultures in the actual places, they are the spearheads for globalizing of our nation who have intense patriotism. Residential area of overseas Koreans has expended into several countries with increasing the number of them and their living patterns have been various and different from our nation character. It tells us what it needs absolutely to replenish them our mother tongue and our culture for keeping the cultural homogeneity against the circumstantial alteration of the social cultures. Our government has a duty to help them for living in other countries with the self-confidence and the identity as a Korean. The education of national identity for them must be considered as an important issue as well as the education for domestic people. Especially, the development of the curriculum for overseas Korean children who exposed to multi-cultures and be able to assimilate it quickly is more important. The purpose of this research is to study and present a way, as a task of Art Education, what sort of viewpoint we have to have about the Education of National Identity for overseas Korean children. This study has inquired the educational value of traditional art on the multi-cultural point and how much this sort of education be able to influence them for the inspiration of national identity, also presented the way of the education which considered actual circumstances after analyzing the seventh curriculum under the multi-cultural point and observe the improvement of national identity of overseas Korean children with understanding our culture. It could be summarized the result of the study like following. As a first, overseas Korean children are exposed to various circumstances that can forget easily our nation culture and they need some kind of educations for inspiring their national identity on the multicultural tradition to prepare their wholesome life in the future with the self-confidence as a Korean. Second, the education of traditional art in multicultural circumstances let us have the cultural identity based on a relative concept of cultures with understanding cultures of other countries, it has to be developed as a creative tradition that improve as a particular art of Korea and be able to globalize it. Third, through teaching the lesson, they who taken it could have a lot of interest and improve the self-confidence about our traditional culture, could know the difference against other countries’ cultures and also could experience that way how their life would be able to be made cheerfully by modernize our traditional culture. But the route, getting touch and learning our culture, is limited than those children’s interest and understand to their parents, Korean school and Korean language school. So, it has serious possibilities forgotten our culture or identity if they would not study in that kind of educational institutions or would stay for a long time in other country. To supplement it, flexible curriculum researches that they would be able to modify it for their situation, as a different one from domestic, are demanded with financial support at the level of government. It needs the application plan of teaching media like multimedia data for traditional music and art education, and the instruction at a viewpoint of multi-culture at the actual place by teachers. It also demands publicity activities about the necessity of national education in the society of overseas Korean. The result of this research would be applied, as a data, to practice the national identity education through the activities of the traditional art and as a method for restoring the identity from confused mind. It has to be studied at following one because of the insufficient preceding study data yet. Through the result of this study, we could see the high response and the educational effect of learner about the application of visual-audio data that based on internet multimedia data what can get the information easily without any restriction of the time or the places. So, it would has to be studied through following researches what the teaching method with ICT(Information & Communication Technology) for overseas Korean children who it is difficult getting in touch our traditional culture easily or directly.;단일 민족 국가로서 혈통과 전통을 강조하여왔던 오랜 민족적 자긍심은 급속한 현대 문명의 발전으로 이미 글로벌화 된 지구촌의 지역과 문화 간의 간격이 좁아지고 있는 상황에서도 반드시 지켜야 할 소중한 것이며, 세계화의 흐름 속에서 해외로 이주 하거나 체류하는 수가 급증하고 있는 현실에서 재외동포는 조국의 외교관이며 홍보원 역할을 하고있고 조국의 경제발전의 지원자로 한민족의 장래에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 중요한 인적 자산이다. 그들은 현지 언어와 문화를 체득하고 있지만 모국에 대해 애국심이 강한 우리 민족의 세계화 첨병이라고 할 수 있겠다. 재외동포의 거주지역이 세계 각국으로 늘어나면서 그들의 수적인 증가와 함께 이들의 생활양식이 다양화, 이질화 되고 사회 문화적인 환경변화에 따라 문화의 동질성을 유지하기 위한 모국어와 모국문화의 보급이 요구 되고 있다. 우리정부는 이들이 한민족으로 자부심과 정체성을 갖고 살 수 있도록 도와줘야 할 의무가 있다. 그들을 위한 민족 정체성 교육은 국내 국민의 교육만큼이나 중요한 이슈로 다루어져야 하며 특히 다문화 속에 노출된 흡수력 빠른 청소년기의 재외동포 아동들에 대한 적절한 교육과정개발은 더욱 중요하다고 본다. 본 연구의 목적은 미술과 과제로서의 재외동포아동을 위한 민족 정체성 교육이 어떠한 관점을 가져야 하는지를 살펴보고 방안을 제시하는데 있다. 먼저 문헌연구를 통하여 다문화적 관점에 의한 전통미술의 교육적 가치와 그 교육들이 민족정체성 고취에 어떤 영향을 주는가를 고찰해 보고 제7차 교육과정의 다문화적 분석과 재외동포 아동의 문화의 이해도를 통한 민족 정체성을 관찰하고 현지 상황을 고려한 교육의 방향을 제시 하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있다. 첫째, 재외동포 아동은 민족 문화를 쉽게 망각할 수 있는 다양한 환경에 노출되어 있기 때문에 한국인의 자부심을 갖고 세계 속에서 미래의 건전한 삶의 준비를 위해선 그들의 올바른 민족적 정체성 고취를 위한 교육이 필요하며 이를 위해선 다문화적 전통문화 교육이 필요하다. 둘째, 다문화적 환경에서 전통미술교육은 문화 상대주의적 관점을 기초하여 세계문화를 이해하면서 자문화에 대한 정체성을 지니도록 하는 교육으로 강력한 국제적 영향 속에서 한국의 독특한 미술로의 승화와 우리의 전통이 세계의 보편성과도 통할 수 있는 창조적인 전통으로 발전되어야 한다. 셋째, 재외동포 아동들의 전통미술 수업을 통해 나타난 결과 전통미술수업의 높은 관심과 다른 민족간에 문화적 차이를 알고 우리나라 문화에 대한 자긍심을 향상 시킬 수 있었고 전통문화를 현대화 시켜 우리의 삶을 즐겁게 만들 수 있는 방법을 체득해 나갈 수 있었다. 하지만 타 문화 속에서의 삶은 아동들의 관심과 이해에 비해 우리 것을 접하고 학습하는 경로가 부모님이나 한국학교, 한글학교 등에 한정되었으므로 위의 교육기관을 다니지 않거나 체류 기간이 길수록 문화를 망각할 가능성이 크다. 이를 보완하기위해 정부 차원에서 경제적 지원과 함께 국내 교육과정과는 별개로 그들의 상황에 변용 시킬 수 있는 유동적인 교육과정 연구가 필요하다. 현장에서는 전통음악이나 전통 미술교육을 위한 시청각 자료 등의 교수매체의 활용방안과 교사들의 다문화적 관점에서의 지도성을 요구하고 동포 사회에 민족교육의 필요성에 대한 홍보활동이 요구된다. 이상의 연구 결과는 세계화 시대의 재외동포의 아동교육에 있어서 정체성 혼란을 극복하기 위한 방법으로 전통미술활동 통한 민족정체성 교육을 실천하는 자료로 활용될 것이다. 후속연구에서 다문화적 관점을 바탕으로 재외동포 아동을 위한 전통문화교육이 많이 다루어져야 하며 시 공간의 제약 없이 정보를 손쉽게 얻을 수 있는 인터넷 활용 학습과 시청각 자료활용에 대한 학습자들의 높은 호응 도와 학습효과를 본 연구결과를 통해 알 수 있듯이 전통문화를 직접 접하기 어려운 재외동포 아동을 위해서는 ICT를 활용한 교육방안이 후속연구로 이어져야 할 것이다.
