음영(陰影)에 의한 직물 디자인 연구

Abstract

21세기 고급화된 심미안을 갖은 현대인들은 개인가치를 중시하는 경향으로 신체적, 정신적 스트레스가 없는 건강하고 여유로우며, 쾌적한 삶을 추구하게 되었다. 이러한 추세는 실내에서 보내는 시간이 많아진 고급화된 심미안을 가진 현대인들에게 편안하고 개성 있는 쾌적한 공간의 필요성을 강조하게 되었다. 현대의 조명은 빛을 비추는 기능적인 역할뿐 아니라, 인테리어의 소품으로서의 역할과 실내 전체 분위기를 연출하는 중요한 역할을 담당하게 되었다.빛의 직진, 반사, 굴절, 간섭 등의 속성과 물리적 속성으로 생기는 그림자의 연출로 이루어지는, 빛과 그림자는 공간에 깊이감을 증폭시키고, 인간의 마음에 감동을 주어, 마음을 움직이게 한다. 본 연구는 시간과 대기의 변화에 따라 빛과 그림자를 다채롭게 표현한 모네의 표현에서 영감을 얻어서 빛과 그림자가 시간과 대기의 변화에 의해 다양하게 지각되는 직물표현을 연구하였다. 빛과 함께 시시각각으로 변하는 시각적 인상을 순간순간 포착해낸 인상주의 화가들 중 모네는 시시각각 변하는 빛의 다채로운 표현을 위해 하나의 사물을 정확한 시간에 동시에 여러 장을 그렸고, 순간적인 빛의 표정도 놓치지 않기 위해 캔버스에 직접 물감을 짜서 재빠른 손놀림으로 채색하여 다양한 그림자색을 표현하였다. 본 연구는 공간에서 빛을 통해 나타나는 다양한 그림자의 연출을 통해 제직한 직물의 그림자의 표현의 연구를 통해 조명용 직물을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여, 본 연구자는 다음과 같은 내용을 연구하였다. 첫째, 조명의 개념과, 조명의 광원, 조명에 사용되는 직물의 요건에 대하여 조사하였다. 둘째, 빛의 투과로 그림자를 표현하는 직물을 연구하였다. 셋째, 모네의 작품을 통해 빛에 의해 나타나는 그림자색의 다양한 표현효과를 분석하였다. 위의 내용을 바탕으로 하여, 빛을 투영하기 위해 열린 공간을 형성 할 수 있는 밀도의 변화에 의한 조직을 연구하였고, 경·위사를 투명한 실로 제작하여 투명성을 강조한 작품을 제직하였다. 이러한 디자인 연구 과정을 통해 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 신비로운 그림자를 나타내는데 있어, 투영성을 높이기 위한 경·위사의 밀도 조절은 직물 표면에 다양한 열린 공간을 형성하여 빛의 투과로 인해 생기는 그림자가 지니는 다양한 패턴을 표현하는데 효과적이였다. 둘째, 투명한 실과 색이 있는 투명한 실의 사용은 빛의 반사와 분산, 투과와 비 투과, 간접투과로 모노톤 그림자의 “톤 온 톤”(tone on tone)효과와 은은한 그림자색을 나타내기에 효과적이었다. 셋째, 픽업을 통한 제직과 부사에 의해 표현되는 자연스런 늘어짐으로 인한 질감효과를 부조적으로 표현 할 수 있었다.;As entering in to the 21th century, the tendency to consider personal value has increased dramatically as our society is on aging. Nowadays, people are pursuing for comfortable, healthy, stress-less life style. With this tendency, the modern, the aesthetically sensitive generation, need to have unique, distinctive, comfortable, & cozy space rather than have unified space for everyone. The space becomes accomplished with production of the attribute of the light and the shadow which gets with physical attribute, the production of the light and shadow amplifies a sense of depth in a space. It gives an impression to mind of the human being to change their mind. For this reason, I have researched the pictorial expression of the light & shadow which meets the requirement of the aesthetically sensitive people in today's society. In this manner, Claude Monet was chosen. Monet is the icon of impressionism and had greatly expressed the property of light which was altered spontaneously by different time frame and atmospheric condition. He painted same subject in series to express of his conception of an "envelope" of interactive colored lights and expressed various shadowy color by putting paints directly on to a canvas. I was inspired by Monet’s works which are the expression of perceptional brush stroke of various envelopes of lights & shadows. In this study, I would like to introduce sensitive textile which is produced by various expression of lights and shadows in space. To do this, my research method is as follows. Firstly, I have inquired the Characteristics of textile which can be used for lighting, the concept of lighting, type of lighting equipment and source of lighting. Secondly, I have inquired the interior textile of expression that was created by permeating light through textile. In third, I have analyzed various expression of colorful light through Monet’s works. Finally, I have inquired the structure of textile density which can produce open space by permeating light through textile. Based on result above, I have woven sample pieces which emphasize the transparency with permeating lights through texture. In conclusion, I could have summarized results as follows. Firstly, it is effective that the control of warp density on textile surface may lead different characteristics of transparency of textile in order to demonstrate mysterious shadow. Secondly, the particular use of transparent threading may produce various pictorial shadows and color by combination of reflection, dispersion, and transmission of light directly and in-directly and also is effective enough to produce incidental shadow. Thirdly, Weaving by Pickup weave and its unique texture effect is sufficient enough to express relief structure.
