사실적 표현을 통한 조형성 연구

Abstract

From ancient times, the animals have been used by a human being as the materials of creation. Furthermore, as a human being has found the intrinsic attributes from the materials, it has been developed as the originative style. Since the days of antiquity, people have sought for the aesthetic value through the expression of internal images which are a writer's subjective images and the objects of wealthy. The animal's expressions and the originative patterns, which are in sight through the formative art, give an impression of nature such as freedom, individuality and sensitivity to people. Therefore, these kinds of impression give an feeling of vital energy as the realistic presentation unites with subjective impression and composition. The animal's particular images present something which can not be foreseen among visual features such as shape, color, feeling and pattern. These unique features come into being the different image from the original one through simplicity and enlargement. In the lots of animal materials, i'm particularly interested in a zebra because it has meaning which is an ability of movement. Moreover, a zebra's stripe contains the balance of nature and energy. This stripe has been taken form and shape for the purpose of protection and adaptation of environment. The zebra's variable shape and its diverse stripes are a small symbol which belongs to the nature and a geometrical complex. Furthermore, its internal power and vital power has a inducement to an interest and the mysteries of nature so this material has enough reasons to make me choose. For this thesis, as the theocratical background, I studied about importance of composition through the tectonics geology point of view because first of all, I had to know that the spatial features in the composition of the picture and the basic principles of modeling for explanation of realistically images and aspects from the pictures in the East Asia. In the study of methodology, the zebra's stripes, which were dealt with this thesis, were express by color contrast like black and white. For the reason that people could find out sense of beauty and I wanted to present tension and deviation through using shape of variable stripes. I examine the meaning of color which belong to zebra and the gradation technique which was used by the way of expression as well. Through this process, I wanted to abstract points of the formative art so as I analyse and develop the points, the creative form would be established. Moreover, as I try to find out how I can express the variable ways of the formative art, my work of arts would be built by better art world.;고대 원시시대부터 인간은 자연 특히 동물을 창작의 소재로 이용하여 왔으며 그 속에 존재하는 본질적 특색을 찾아내어 각기 독창적인 양식으로 발전시켰다. 예로부터 부귀나 화목을 가져다주는 대상으로 작가 본연의 주관적 이미지인 내면적 심상에 의한 표현을 통해 심미적 가치를 추구하여 왔다. 조형적 감성에 의한 시각으로서 바라보는 동물의 표정과 고유의 독창적인 무늬는 무한한 상상력과 인위적으로 꾸미지 않은 데서 오는 자유로움, 독특한 개성 및 풍부한 감성적 모티브를 느끼게 해주었다. 이를 통해 얻어진 감동과 인상적인 느낌은 사실적 표현과 주관화된 내적 인상의 결합 및 시각적 관점과 구도 등의 조형적 표현에 의해 다양한 생명 에너지를 느끼게 한다. 동물의 특유한 이미지는 그 모양이나 색깔, 질감 및 패턴 등과 같이 눈에 보이는 모든 특징들 중에서 예측하지 못하는 형태들을 나타내어 주는데 이러한 독특한 특징들을 단순화하고 확대시켜 부분으로 나눈 공간을 통해 본래의 이미지와는 다른 조형성을 형성하게 된다. 그 중에서 특히 본인이 관심을 갖고 소재로 삼은 얼룩말은 말 자체의 가치로서 편리한 이동 능력을 확장시켜주었던 의미뿐만 아니라 자신들만의 개성적인 얼굴이라 할 수 있는 고유한 줄무늬는 생명체의 일부로서 자연의 질서와 운동, 그리고 생동감까지 내포하고 있다. 이 줄무늬는 외부로부터의 자기보호를 위한 목적이나 주위환경의 적응을 위한 방편으로 과거의 시간대로부터 형성되어온 것이다. 시각적 관점에 따라 변화하는 얼룩말의 형태와 나름대로의 규칙적이지만 여러 가지 상이한 모습으로 부유하고 있는 줄무늬의 형상들은 자연이 소유하고 있는 조그만 상징의 모습이며 무한한 기하학적 모양의 복합체이다. 또한 그 대상이 보여주는 내적인 힘과 생명력은 본인으로 하여금 시각적 흥미를 유발시킴과 동시에 나아가 자연의 조형적 신비로움을 연상시키기에 충분하다. 본인은 이러한 자연의 내재율을 기초작업의 일환으로써 불규칙적이고 -동일형태를 지니고 있지는 않지만-동적인 운동감을 느끼게 하는 얼룩말의 반복적인 줄무늬 패턴들을 소재로 삼아, 정적인 모습의 동작이지만 운율감을 느끼게 하는 줄무늬 고유의 형상을 조형적으로 재구성함으로서 예술적 시각으로서의 작품을 표현하였다. 이를 위하여 먼저, 내용적 연구로는 이론적 배경으로서 조선시대 영모화의 발전과정과 사실적 표현기법에 관하여 살펴보고 고대 말 그림의 사실적 이미지와 조형적 양상에 대해서도 알아보았다. 또, 얼룩말의 조형적 특징을 연구함에 있어 선행되어야할 조형의 기본적 원리와 화면구성에 나타난 공간적 특성을 살펴 시지각적 관점에 의한 구도의 중요성에 대하여 고찰하였다. 아울러 방법적인 연구에서는 본 논문에서 다루고 있는 얼룩말의 줄무늬가 지니고 있는 이미지의 표현을 흑백의 강렬한 색채대비와 대칭구도로서 조형적 미감을 발견하고 이러한 다양한 줄무늬의 형상들을 긴장감과 일탈 그리고 신선함 등의 심상효과로 제시하고자 하였다. 또한 작품을 제작함에 있어 얼룩말 형상을 구체적으로 표현하기 위해 사용한 분채의 그라데이션 기법과 얼룩말이 갖고 있는 표면적인 색채의 의미에 대해서도 살펴보았다. 이러한 과정들을 통해 얼룩말을 소재로 한 작품세계에 있어서 나타나는 사실적 표현에 의한 조형성을 추출하고자 했으며, 이를 분석 및 발전시켜서 본인만의 조형방식을 확립하고 나아가 작품세계에 있어서 다양한 사실적 표현 방법에 의한 조형성의 표출을 모색하는 시도를 통해 본인작업의 보다 나은 예술세계를 구축하고자 함에 본 연구의 의의를 두고자 한다.
