아버지의 원가족 부모와의 애착, 아버지의 양육참여 및 유아의 사회적 능력 간의 관계

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 유아기 자녀를 둔 아버지의 원가족 부모와의 애착 및 양육참여가 유아의 사회적 능력에 미치는 경로를 탐색하는 것이다. 본 연구의 대상은 서울시 및 경기도에 위치한 5곳의 어린이집에 다니는 202명의 만 3-5세 유아들로서, 그들의 아버지와 어머니가 질문지에 응답하였다. 아버지의 원가족 부모와의 애착은 Hazan과 Shaver(1992)가 개발한 Adult Attachment Scale(AAS)을 Jeon(1994)이 번안한 것을 수정한 곽소현(2005)의 척도를, 아버지의 양육참여는 최경순(1992)이 개발한 아버지의 양육참여도 척도를 유아기 자녀를 둔 아버지 보고용으로 수정한 조숙인(2010)의 척도를, 유아의 사회적 능력은 도현심(1994)이 개발한 ‘사회적 능력 척도: 유치원용(Social Competence Questionnaire for Kindergarteners)’을 서유진(2005)이 번안한 척도를 사용하여 측정하였다. 수집된 자료 분석을 위해 SPSS 18.0 프로그램을 사용하여 독립표본 t-test 및 상관관계 분석을 실시하였으며, AMOS 18.0 프로그램을 사용하여 구조방정식모형을 분석하였다. 본 연구의 연구문제에 따라 주요결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아버지의 원가족 부모와의 애착은 아버지의 양육참여에 직접적인 영향을 미쳐, 아버지의 원가족 부모에 대한 애착이 안정적일수록 아버지는 자녀양육에 보다 많이 참여하였다. 둘째, 아버지의 양육참여는 유아의 사회적 능력에 직접적인 영향을 미쳐, 아버지가 적극적인 양육참여를 할수록 유아의 사회적 능력은 높았다. 마지막으로, 아버지의 원가족 부모와의 애착은 아버지의 양육참여를 통해 유아의 사회적 능력에 간접적인 영향을 미쳤다. 즉, 아동기 때 원가족 부모와의 관계에서 안정적인 애착을 형성한 아버지는 자녀양육에 보다 적극적으로 참여하며, 이는 결과적으로 유아의 사회적 능력 발달에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 본 연구는 전생애적 관점에서 아버지의 원가족 부모와의 애착, 아버지의 양육참여, 유아의 사회적 능력을 함께 고려하여 아버지의 원가족 부모와의 애착 및 양육참여가 유아의 사회적 능력에 미치는 경로를 탐색하였으며, 긍정적 양육이 세대 간에 전이됨을 밝혔다는 점에서 그 의의가 있다. 또한 유아기 자녀의 사회적 능력을 발달시키는 데 있어 아버지의 역할이 중요하며, 원가족에서 긍정적인 부모-자녀관계를 형성하는 노력 또한 중요하다는 것을 강조하였다. 본 연구는 아버지의 적극적인 양육참여와 자녀에 대한 관심을 유도할 뿐만 아니라, 유아기 자녀를 둔 아버지를 대상으로 한 부모교육의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.;This study explored the pathways among father's attachment to their parents, father involvement, and preschooler's social competence. The participants in this study were 202 mothers and fathers of children aged between 3 and 5 years old who live in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. The data were collected using three kinds of questionnaires regarding father's attachment to their parents, father involvement, and preschooler's social competence. Data were analyzed by t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficients using SPSS 18.0 and Structural Equation Modeling using AMOS 18.0. The main results of this study were as follows: It was found that father's attachment to their parents directly influenced father involvement. Also, father involvement directly influenced preschooler's social competence. Finally, father's attachment to their parents indirectly influenced preschooler's social competence through father involvement. These results clearly indicate that father's attachment to their parents and father involvement play a significant role in improving levels of preschooler's social competence. Also, These emphasize the continuity of positive parenting across generation. The findings of this study have implications for research and practice, which highlights the important considerations that father's role should be emphasized in intervention programs for developing preschooler's social competence.
