現代舞踊의 造形空間

Abstract

Though the dance is a synthetic art with time and space, it is expressed the beauty through the space formed by movement. So the dance is close to the space art. The modern dance is the creative activity through new space forming, which we must consider the expression first. After surveying the motive of origination of the formation process and the present condition, I plan to examine the theory of space-forming and the method of perceiving the space formed, through analyzing the concept, of the structure and the function of space. At this paper, it is studied to the concept of space formation and the transformation of space with historical consideration. Examination of the constructual beauty of space is carried out with graphical interpretation. I try to present the theoretical base on the formation of space because the object of this study is a deep analysis for the wide field of beauty. As the modern dance expresses the human thoughts and feelings through the space-forming using human bodies with an instrument. At this paper, the meaning and the method of space forming are examined, which gives the help to the activity of expression. Though we know the fact that the modern dance expresses the meaning through new space-forming, the study of this field is not enough. As the demand for the concept and the method of space-forming is recognized, I prepare this paper with a view to giving a theoretical base for the space-formation, which is essential to the creative activity. The dance is an art with space, not with time, and the space itself has the abstraction. Therefore the modern dance is the space art with the fourth dimension that expresses the abstract meaning to the spectators through the space-forming. As the space and the human body which forms the space are the fundamental bases of the beautiful factor, I think that training the beautiful body and the fine space-forming are the best creation to the dance composers.;19세기에 이르러 心理學과 美學의 발달로 예술의 傾向은 낭만주의로 부터 새로운 「모더니즘」을 추구하게 됨에 따라 무용에도 큰 革新을 가져오게 되었다. 즉, 자연스러운 움직임을 통해 人間의 內的 狀態를 表現하고자 시도하게 되었다. 이러한 時代的 背景에 의해 오늘날 美國을 중심으로 전세계에서 공연되고 있는 現代舞踊이 탄생하게 된 것이다. 舞踊은 운동으로 이루어지는 空間性과 時間性의 藝術이다. 그러나 現代舞踊은 人間의 內的 要因을 表現하기 때문에 空間形成을 통해 意味를 傳達하게 되므로, 空間藝術에 屬한다고 할 수 있다. 空間에 대한 槪念은 시대가 흐름에 따라 여러가지로 달리 해석되었으며 모든 공간예술 즉 造形藝術은 새로운 공간에 대한 探究를 시도하여 왔다. 그러나 舞踊分野에서는 뒤늦게 현대무용이 출현하게 됨에 따라 표현에 대한 意味傳達이 공간의 형성을 통해 이루어 진다는 것을 새삼 깨닫게 되어 공간에 대한 探究를 시도하여 왔다 그러므로 本 論文에서는, 1. 現代舞踊의 發生動機와 선구자적인 人物등을 통하여 그들의 創作活動을 어떠한 方法으로 시도하였으며 그들이 표현하고자 하는 作品의 性格은 어떠한 가를 알아 봄과 동시에 現代舞踊이 表現藝術로서의 位置를 確立하게 된 경위를 알아보았으며 現代舞踊에 대한 狀況을 美國이 現代舞踊의 本産地인 만큼 美國을 중심으로 活動하고 있는 人物들을 通해 그들의 作品性格과 特徵을 서술하였다. 2. 舞踊은 空間藝術로서 位置를 확고히 다져가고 있는 만큼, 공간에 대한 연구는 모든 안무가에게 필수불가결한 요소이다. 舞踊에서의 空間은 身體 자체가 지닌 身體空間과 身體의 運動을 通해 이루어지는 運動空間 그리고 身體空間과 運動空間을 包含하는 舞臺空間으로 分類하여 各己의 공간이 지닌 特徵과 意味를 살펴보았다. 3. 舞踊은 身體를 通해 空間을 形成하는 造形藝術이라 할 수 있으므로 造形空間에 대하여 그 槪念과 時代的인 變遷에 따라 어떻게 해석되어 왔는가를 알아보았다. 그리고 공간에 대한 조형이 현대에서는 어떻게 해석되고 있는지를 美術分野를 통해 살펴보았으며 그것이 舞踊藝術에 있어서는 어떻게 適用되는가를 알아보았다. 대체로 현대의 造形空間은 「르네쌍스」이후 오늘에 이르기까지 계속하여 變遷하여 왔으며 그것을 대체로 「르네쌍스」時代의 視覺的空間에서 부터 立體派에 이르러 觸覺的 空間, 그리고 知的 空間으로 發展하면서 다시 4次元世界의 領域的인 時間의 問題에까지 이르게 된다 그러나 現代舞踊은 그 固有적 時間性으로 因하여 4次元世界로의 突入을 시도할 必要가 없으나 이 時間性으로 말미암아 무용은 다른 藝術과는 달리 想像的 世界를 열 수 있었고 그 자신이 視覺言語로서 자체의 세계를 代辯할 수 있음을 알게 되었다.
