이중능직을 이용한 직물의 조형효과

Abstract

직물(woven object)은 인간이 접하게된 최초의 예술 가운데 하나로서 고대로부터 공예적 입장에서 일차적으로 생존을 확보하고, 이차적으론 삶의 질을 풍요롭게하기 위해 장식적 기능을 수행하는 인간의 가장 기본적인 욕구를 충족시켜 주었다. 이런 두 가지 맥락으로부터 직물은 19세기말 이래 예술적이고 사회적인 사고에 연루된 예술가들의 노력으로 새로운 예술적 모습을 드러내게 되었고, 1960년대에 이르러 예술가들은 섬유(fiber), 실(thread) 및 직물 구조물(textilebased constructions)등의 일체가 자신들에게 새로움을 가져다 줄 매체로 인식하게 되었다. 이러한 예술형태로 나타난 섬유예술은 오늘날 새로운 양식으로 변천하는 미술 사조의 영향을 받아 섬유의 재질 및 특정 기법에 의해 총체적인 조형예술로 부각 되었다. 오늘날 섬유예술가들의 관심은 회화성의 접근이라는 지난날의 지배적인 조현욕구에서 벗어나 다양한 방향성을 보이고 있다. 그 중 직조 방법에 있어서도 전래적인 방식에 대한 재탐구의 결과로써 나타나는 새로운 조형성의 시도에서 작가들의 적지않은 관심의 영역을 찾아볼 수 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 타피스트리 제작의 기본도구인 ·프레임(Frame)이 아닌 4종광 직조기(Four Harnesses Foot Loom)에 의해 이중 능직으로 작품 제작을 함으로써 이중직에 의해 나타나는 조형효과를 연구하는데 있다. 이론적 연구방법으로는 국내외의 문헌을 중심으로 직조와 직조기의 기원을 살펴보고 직조기의 종류와 특성 및 4종광 이상의 직조기에 의한 이중직의 조형효과를 나타낸 작가들의 작품을 분석하였다. 작품제작에 있어서는 빛의 이미지중 자연에서 보여지는 부드러운 빛을 내적감동에의해 재구성 하여 표현하였으며, 작품화면 전체에 명도와 채도가 단계적으로 변화되는 색채를 사용하여 이러한 내용에 부합되도록 하였다. 또한 능직과 직조기에 의한 이중직에서 응용될 수 있는 변화능직을 통하여 조직의 변화에서 오는 미적 조형성을 시도하였다. 이러한 연구과정을 통하여 다음과 같은 사실을 유도하고자 하였다. 직물의 앞 뒷면 조직이 동일하게 직조되는 프레임에서의 이중직과는 달리 4종광 이상 직조기의 이중직은 한 장의 직물로 짜여질 경우 앞면과 뒷면 조직이 다르게도 나타난다. 따라서 이것을 직조기의 기능에의해 응용하면, 앞면의 계획되어진 부분에 뒷면 조직이 위사의 색상을 바꾸지 않고도 표현될 수 있다. 이렇게 표현된 조직을 직선에 의한 면으로 형상화하여 그 크기와 위치에 변화를 주면, 평면안에서 2차원적인 공간감을 나타낼 수 있는것과 더불어 경사로 사용된 여러 색실의 조화로운 배열을 통하여 풍부한 색채감이 수반될 수 있다. 이와같은 연구결과를 바탕으로 현대섬유예술에 알맞는 이중직의 다양한 조형효과를 위해 적극적인 실험정신과 자세로서 독창적인 연구가 절실히 요구되었다.;Woven object is one of the initial arts that come contact with human, It has satisfied very basic desire of human that from the technological point of view from ancient times, the first point ensure existence and the second point accomplish ornamental function for the sake of rich quality of life. Woven object from two this the current of the times appeared a new artistic aspect from efforts of artists in artistic and social thought implicated from the late nineteenth century, in the 1960'sartists perceived media that fiber, thread and textilebased constructions give fresh something to themselves. Fiber ats appeared these artical forms were growed the whole formative arts by means of quality and special method of fiber that is affected the drift of art changing new form nowadays. Generally, we are recognized synonym both fiber art and Tapestry of paricular method. These days fiber artists, interests express various ways sloughing off formative disire that pictoricd acession is donminant the past days. Weaving method among them was atteempted new formative to appear by means of research results about the transmissive method. It appeared the field of the rich artists' interests. Purpose of the studies lie on study of formative effect that is appeared by a double weave through Frame of basic instrument about Tapestry manufacture is not used but Four Harnesses Foot Loom is used a work pro-duct by double twill weave. Theoretical study method is that observe origins of weaving and weaving a pparatus refering to literature of the inside and outside of our contry, analyze the Kinds and propeties of weaving apparatus and artists'works showing formative effect of double weave by weaving apparatus over Four Harnesses Foot Loom. Work product was expressed smooth light that was appeared from nature among light's images through reconstitution by internal enotion. The whole work picture was used colors that luminocity and Charoma Change step by sep so as to coincide with these substances images. Through double weave about twill weave and weave, aesthetic formative from chage of constitution was attempted. It was induced the following cases through these study progresses. Double weave of Frame is weaved the same constitution at the front and back sides. On the contrary, doubel weave over Four Harnesses Foot Loom is appeared differently the constitution of the front and back side as weaved by on woven. Therefore, if it is implied to function of weaving apparatus, the portion of the planneed front side can be expressed constitution of the back side without color transition of weft. This expressed constitution shape a plane by straight line. And, giving the change about its magnitude and location, it is expressed two dimentions space in the plane. Moreover it is accompanied with the rich colors through harmonious of varius color thread used by warp. On the basis of these study results, it was required eagerly original study as positive experience mind and attitude for various molding effect of double weave for modern fiber arts.
