한국 성악도들의 학습과정 및 의욕에 관한 조사 분석 연구

Abstract

우리나라 성악도들이 지금 어떠한 과정으로 성악공부를 하게 되었으며 또 그들의 포부와 현실에 대한 불만 및 학습과정에 관한 그들 나름대로의 개선, 요망사항, 지도교수와의 관계 등을 알아봄으로써 보다 발전적인 학습과정의 개선 방향 등을 모색하고저 다음과 같은 문제를 예술고등학교, 전문학교 그리고 음악대학 재학생별로 알아 보았다. 1. 성악전공의 선택동기와 만족감의 정도 2. 성악공부 중 가장 중요하다고 생각하는 분야 및 가장 어렵다고 생각하는 분야 3. 지도교수와의 관계 4. 현재 재학 중인 학교의 교과과정에 대한 학생들의 의견 5. 졸업 후의 희망과 계획 6. 현재 성악학도로서 한국 성악교육에 대하여 절실히 바라는 점 이상의 문제에 대한 “질문지” 수집분석 결과 다음과 같은 결론과 제언을 도출할 수 있었다. 결론 본 연구대상 성악전공학생들의 자기 전공에 대한 만족감은 선택의 동기가 본인 스스로 선택하고 싶어서 선택한 전공이기에 그만큼 만족도도 높았다. 진학때까지의 공부방법은 연주활동하는 성악인에게 lesson 받은 학생보다 진학할 학교 선생님께 lesson받은 학생이 상당히 많았다. 따라서 학교 입시의 어려움으로 인한 결과라고 생각된다. 성악학도들의 성악공부중 가장 어려운 분야는 발성이고 가장 기본이 되는 분야도 발성이라고 나타났다. 따라서 이 분야의 연구는 필연적인 것이어야겠고 학생들의 발성에 대한 반응은 터득되었다던가, 노력하면 잘 될것 같다는 긍정적인 반응이 대부분이나 아주 힘들다. 또 잘 모르겠다고 하는 반응도 약간 있다는 점은 유의하여야 할 일이라 생각한다. 지도교수와의 관계에서는 대부분의 학생이 잘 맞는다는 의견이 많은 것은 사실이나 교수님들의 지도자세에 있어서는 보다 성실한 지도를 바라고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 지도교수의 선정방법은 본인의 희망보다는 학교의 배정으로 정하여 진 쪽이 약간 높은 것으로 나타나고 있다. 교과과정에 있어서는 대체적으로 만족치 못한다거나 보통이다라고 하였는데 시간수의 제약으로 실기 향상에 도움이 안된다는 의견이 지배적이었다. 특히 고등학교의 경우 전공과 관련없는 과목이 너무 많다는 반응은 상당했는데 이는 요즈음같은 입시경쟁 상황에서 인문계 학생들과 같이 같은 과목을 모두 공부하고 또 실기연습을 하는 것은 학생에게 벅차는 일이 되기 때문인 것으로 풀이된다. 졸업 후의 장래 계획과 희망사항을 살펴보면 외국유학을 희망하는 학생과 진학을 원하는 학생이 상당히 많았고 종사하고 싶은 분야로는 연주활동이나 학교에 종사하기를 바라는 학생이 많은 것으로 보아 졸업 후에도 전공을 계속하고 싶다는 것이 절대적인 반응이었다. 또 외국유학이라야 한국에서 더 인정받게 되므로 유학을 희망한다고 하는 반응도 적지 않았는데 이는 현 한국의 성악계의 사회성을 의식한 반응이라 볼 수 있겠으며 이는 성악가의 실력과 능력보다는 그 뒤의 배경과 외국유가이라는 간판을 더욱 인정하는 일부 풍토에 대하여 일종의 경각심을 줄 수 있는 것이라 할 수 있겠으며 이에 대한 개선점이 요구될 수 있겠다. 제언 성악 전공의선택은 학생들 스스로가 원하여 선택하여야 겠다. 즉 진학 전략상 부모님 또는 타인의 권유에 의한 선택은 만족감의 결여와 적성의 부적응 등으로 그만큼 공부에 열의가 없는 것으로 나타나고 있기 때문이다. 발성에 대한 체계적이고도 활용할 수 있는 문헌과 연구회 등의 출현을 기대한다. 보다 많은 실기시간의 배정과 일단 배정된 실기 지도 시간 내에서는 보다 학구적이고 성의있는 지도자세의 확립이 요청된다. 보다 효과적인 성악교육의 한 방법으로서 학교 당국의 여건이 허용되는 범위에서 실기 지도교수의 선정을 본인의 요청으로 지도받을 수 있는 방법의 확대도입이 요망된다. 실기 발표기회의 확대방법으로서 교내 발표회에 국한하지만 말고 타교와의 교류기회 등을 통하여 보다 폭 넓은 연주기회를 제공함이 소망스럽다. 성악학도들이 희망하는 외국유학의 기회가 마련되고 졸업 후의 활동범위 및 무대의 마련을 사회적으로 보장하여 주는 제도의 연구가 꾸준히 진행되었으면 한다.;In an attempt to search for more improved method of earning vocal music and more improvable directions of vocal music curriculum in school, through the in-depth review of what caused the students to major vocal music, what are their future dreams or disatisfactions for the present, what are their requests for improving school curriculum and their relationships with the teachers, the following questionaires sent to the students of both music and art high schools and college of music by the different grades of students; 1. Reason and Degree of Satisfaction to major vocal music. 2. The most important and difficult areas for learning vocal music. 3. Relationships with the teachers. 4. Students views on the present curriculum in school. 5. Hopes and Career Plan after graduation. 6. Recommendation for better vocal music education in Korea. Through the analysis of the above questionaires, the following conclusions and recommendations were derived; Conclusions: Majority of students was satisfied with the fact that they choosed to major vocal music because the decision to major it was their own. However, those who decided to major vocal music based on either parents' or relatives' recommendation showed very low satisfaction. Until the students were admitted to the college of music, most of them had lessons from the prefessors who teach at the very college choosed to go rather than from the professional singers. Such tendency indicates that admission to the college is very difficult otherwise, and deserves a thorough reconsideration. As the most difficult and basic area for those students who study vocal music, voice training was named. Therefore, voice training should be compulsory for the students. It should also be noted that most of students showed confidence for utterance and some of them responded that they do not know or understand how to make good articulation. Although many students showed satisfactory relationship with the teachers, more sincere and analytical teaching attitudes are requested by all the students. In the process of assigning teachers to the students, decisions are usually school authorities' rather than students themselves. It was known that majority of students is not satisfied with their present curriculum and more practice classes are strongly requested. As career plan after graduation, many students want either to go aborad for further study or to go to graduate school. As a reason to go abroad for further study, more recognition by the community was given. Such trend indicates that prejudice for abroad education is still prevailing in Korea. Recommendations: Decision for the students to major vocal music should be their own rather than somebody else recommendation in order to maintain great deal of satisfaction for sudying vocal music. It should not be used as strategy to get easy admission to the college. More systematic voice training textbooks or reference materials and more frequent seminar for vocal music should be provided. It is very desirable to provide more practice classes to the students and within each practice class teachers should devote their best efforts to the students. Whenever it is possible, decision of assigning teachers should be students' own rather than school authorities. For the purpose of providing opportunity for more practice classes, recital of singing should not be confined to school activities and should rather be expanded to exchange programs with other schools as well. It should be provided with more opportunities for vocal music students to go abroad for graduate school and more opportunies to continue their majors on a professional basis even after graduation.
