Naum Gabo 作品의 運動表現에 관한 硏究

Abstract

造形藝術에서 필수적인 運動要素는 작가마다 특정한 표현수단에 의거함으로서 각기 다른 樣相을 나타낸다. 本 硏究는 키네틱 리듬의 필요성을 주장하고 運動을 다양하게 전개한 現代彫刻家 N. Gabo의 作品分析을 통해 運動의 要因과 特性을 연구해 봄으로서, 現代美術에서 運動表現의 양상을 이해하는데 도움이 되고자 한다. 本 硏究의 目的은 N. Gabo의 構成主義 理論과 作品分析을 통해 運動感을 유발하는 要因을 分析하여 運動表現의 特性을 규명하는데 있다. 硏究의 內容은 N. Gabo作品의 時代的 背景과 그의 造形理念을 전개하고, 造形藝術에 있어서의 運動表現樣相을 고찰하였다. 作品分析은 構成要素의 특성에 의하여 面作品, 線作品, 키네틱 作品의 세가지 유형으로 分類하고 그것을 다시 形態의 특성에 따라 細分하여 分析하였다. 硏究의 方法에서 基本道具는 文獻과 展示會의 카타로그이다. 作品은 분류된 영역별로 運動表現의 要因과 특성을 代表할 수 있는 것으로 39点을 有意標集하였고, 標集된 作品의 運動誘發要因을 造形의 실증적 要素와 原理로 分析하여 특성을 導出하였다. 硏究의 結果를 종합하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 面作品에서 具象形態는 構成單位의 다양한 형태와 절단면에 의해 이루어진 線의 방향으로 運動을 표현하고 있으며, 幾何形態의 作品은 투명재료의 대비와 중첩에 의해서 運動感을 주고 있다. 둘째, 線作品에서 율동적 형태는 빛의 작용 및 線의 반복과 중첩으로 virtual movement의 효과를 주고 있으며, 수직적 형태의 作品은 構造自體의 역동성과 線의 반복으로 運動感을 나타내고 있다. 세째, 모터에 의한 키네틱作品은 物理的 힘에 의하여 作品自體가 時空을 통해 움직이는 실제적 運動표현이다. 이와같이 Naum Gabo는 표현 형태와 재료의 특성에 의거 運動의 要因을 달리함으로서 形式的으로 暗示되어 있는 運動, 作品自體가 움직이지는 않으나 실제 움직임의 효과를 주는 運動, 물리적인 실제 運動등 다양한 양상을 보이고 있다.;The expression of movement. which is one of the essential elements in plastic arts, contains many diverse forms. And it depends upon the artist's specific means of expression. This thesis furnishes available data for understanding the expressed forms of movement in modern Arts by studing the dominant causes and features of movement and by analizing the plastic works of Naum Gabo, advocated the necessity of kinetic rhythms and made many varation in his works. The aim of this thesis lies in examining the features in the expression of movement by analizing a dominant cause of inducing movement, through the constructivism theory and the analysis of his works. The contents of this study is the periodical background of the Naum Gabo, his ideology of plastic arts, the expressed forms of movement in plastic arts and analysts of hts works. The criteria of sample selection adapted in this study is the features of constituent elements and forms. His works is, firstly, classified to 'plane works', 'line works' and 'kinetic works' by features of constituent elements. And secondly, it is classified by the features of forms. This thesis selects 39 works which represent the elements and features of movement and takes out the features of works analizing movement-expression by positive elements and principle of plastic forms. The results of this study is as follows: 1. 'plane works' is divided to 'figurative plane works' and 'geometric plane works'. In 'figurative plane works', the movement is expressed by the dtyerse forms of the elements and direction of lines composed by the section of plane, and in 'geometrtc plane works', by the contrast and super-imposed effect of transparent materials. 2. 'Line works' is divided to 'rhythmical line works' and 'vertical line works'. In 'rhythmical line works', movement is expressed by the effect of light and the super-imposed effect of lines, and in 'vertical line works', by the dynamism of construction itself and the reiteration of lines. 3. In kinetice works with motor, movement is actually expressed by work itself which moves in the space time shaping the virtual volume by physical power. Naum Gabo build up his constructions dynamically through lines and planes as expressing elements and he expressed respectively specific movement by changing formal materials. His works shows diversity in the features of movement, such as movement implied in form, virtual movement and actual movement.
