Abstract

From the ancient time on human beings have been interested in the beauty of nature's color on their bodies or clothes. So they have been using juice of flowers and plants, blood of insects, and soils as dyeing material. Since W.H. Perkin's, an English man, invented an industrial dye, dyeing technique has been developed and man's idea of beauty has been enhanced and pragmatized. In 19th century Willam Morris started textile design movement, while let the people recognize the importance of design. And now a days, in Korea, many firms pay attention to the importance of printing and textile design from the business point of view. Therefore we should try to develop the technique. I mainly experimented the process of designing and dyeing through Screen-printing with silk. 1. To do it, I used various kinds of pastes without any side-effects. 2. I selected the design of individuality and variety. 3. I looked into the ways to develop the industry of dyeing and printing. And I arrived at the conclusion that we need a lot of reports and records of experts as a theoretical basis for the future of Korean dyeing industry.;人間은 古代로부터 자연의 아름다운 색채에 관심을 가졌으며 이 아름다운 색상을 自身의 몸이나 衣服 裝飾品 등에 나타내고 싶어했다. 그래서 꽃이나 草木 등에서 얻을 수 있는 色素 또는 곤충의 피, 혹은 黃土 등 자연계에서 얻을 수 있는 着色 材料 등을 使用하여 染着材로 使用하였다. 英國의 W·H Perkin이 공업 염료를 발명하여 염색 기술이 급진적으로 발전함에 따라 人間의 美的 수준이 높아지고 디자인的인 관념이 실생활화되어 가는 경향이 짙어졌다. 19세기 윌리암 모리스(Willam Moris)가 처음으로 纖維 디자인 운동을 일으킨 後 디자인의 중요성이 인식되기 시작했으며 우리나라에서도 최근에 이르러 捺染 디자인의 企業 비중이 커지면서 직물 디자인의 중요성과 필요성은 더욱 높아지고 있다. 그러므로 디자인을 유기적으로 표현하기 위해서는 각종 염색 기술 및 디자인의 발전에 힘을 기울여야 한다. 이상과 같은 현실에서 本人은 실크를 素地로 스크린 나염을 중심으로 디자인과 가공 과정을 실험 시도해 보았다. 그 결과 1. 작품을 제작할 때 염료, 조제에 대하여 부작용이 없는 호제를 사용하여 보았고 2. 수요자의 개성화와 다양화에 맞는 디자인을 선택하였으며 3. 공업적인 나염 공예를 위해서는 이론적인 뒷받침이 될 수 있는 전문적인 기록이 많아야 나염 공예나 염색업계의 성장을 기할수 있을 것이라고 생각된다.
