팝업을 이용한 그림책 분석

Abstract

그림책은 어린이가 인생에서 제일 처음에 접하는 시각 예술이라 할 수 있다.이러한 그림책은 아이들의 이해를 돕는 커뮤니케이션의 수단인 시각언어로서의 역할 뿐 아니라 아이들의 사고발달에 있어 가장 중요한 과정 중 하나인 상상력의 발전에도 많은 역할을 한다. 요즈음 유아 아동책은 조기교육의 열풍으로 인해 그 관심이 증대되었고, 이로 인해 점차 다양한 주제 및 소재, 재료 등의 발전이 점차 필요하게 되었다. 앞서 언급한 그림책의 순기능을 기반으로 출현한 팝업북은 3차원적 기법을 사용함으로써 호기심과 즐거움을 추구하는 아이들에게 2D로 제작한 그림책 보다 더 흥미를 끌고 있다. 아이들은 즐거움을 추구한다. 팝업북은 아이들이 직접 조작을 함으로서 그들이 원하는 즐거움 줄 뿐만 아니라 그 조작을 통해 손의 근육운동의 협응관계와 시지각등 다양한 감각을 발달시키는데 도움을 준다. 팝업북은 이외에도 촉각적 경험을 충분히 얻도록 해주고, 팝업의 변화하는 움직임을 통해 상상력의 발달에 도움을 주는 등 아이들의 성장발달에 많은 영향을 미친다. 이러한 팝업북의 여러가지 장점으로 인해 팝업북 시장이 점차 확대되는 시점에서 본 연구는 팝업북의 인식을 제고하고 아이들의 연령별 성장단계에 따라 팝업 기법 표현을 어떻게 택하는 것이 바람직한가에 대한 방향을 모색하며, 그에 따른 교육적 효과를 알아보기 위해 인지발달 및 미술교육발달론에 근거하여 아이들의 연령별 발달을 연구해 보았으며 그 결과로 발달과정에 맞추어 아이들 연령에 따른 팝업기법을 제안하였다. 또, 팝업기법을 기초로 해 만들어진 팝업북이 아이들에게 발달 단계로 어떠한 장점을 주는가 에 대해 논하였다. 즉 이 논문은 팝업북이 아이들에게 어떠한 영향을 미치는 지에 초점을 맞추었으며, 어린이를 위한 창의적이고 발달 단계에 적합한 팝업북이 제작되기 위한 세가지 제언을 결론에서 하였다. 출판사는 상업성을 앞세우기 전에 아이들의 교육 및 정서발달을 위해 출판을 해야 한다는 제작의식의 고취와 함께, 부모는 자신의 눈으로 책을 선택하는 것이 아닌 아이들의 단계별 특성을 고려하고 아이들의 눈에 맞춘 책을 선택해야 한다는 것이 첫번째 제언이며, 둘째로는 팝업북의 출판 문화 발달을 위해 문화적, 지역적으로 빠르게 발달하는 아이들의 단계별 교육적 특성을 고려한 연구가 활발히 진행되어야 하고, 이 논문 역시 그러한 관점에서 읽혀져야 하며 마지막으로 팝업의 대중화를 위해 다양한 팝업 기법의 지속적인 연구 및 세미나등 우리나라 팝업북 시장의 활성화와 아울러 팝업북의 학문적 fundamental을 이루기 위한 다각적인 노력이 필요함을 논하였다. 결국 이 논문은 출판사들과 아이들의 부모들이 팝업북의 선택에 있어 이해를 돕고자 하는 의도에서 연구에 임하였으며 또한 팝업북의 가치를 높이는데 도움이 되었으면 하는 바람과 함께 글을 썼다. ;We can see many books for children around us. But pop-up book is different to the others because of many reasons. On this paper, I mention pop-up books' such advantage related to psychological theories and art education: especially cognitive science for children's development by Piaget and his companions and Lowenfeld who is called as one of the most important person in art one. Then I develop a new matrix containing their opinions. By using the matrix, I suggest a better technique to each age. The experience in the children is so much important to men's life. And much experience leads children to develop their imagination, connecting to creative power. That is a key idea from cognitive science related to a book. A book including a picture can be called as a visual art which children experience it at first in their life. It has not only a role of a visual art by means of communication but also a role of improving imagination out of the most important process in the children's development. Also, Lowenfeld advocated art helping children's development. So, pop-up book can be focused its contents and techniques the two ideas and it will help parents choose better pop-up books. Recently, a book for children appeals to many people because of the atmosphere to education. Specially, the interest is concentrated on the English education. This mood makes pop-up book as a mean of learning English, so its contents and techniques cannot be updated. In the conclusion, I insist additional three reasons to develop pop-up books in Korea. That is there is no theory which can neglect social and cultural aspects. So, a person who wants to adopt my theory should understand a country's those points and apply. Also, in Korea, publisher and parents should be interested in developing pop-up books for their children and its future.
