통합적 활동을 통한 유치원 교통안전 교육이 유아의 교통안전 지식에 미치는 영향

Abstract

This study was conducted to clarify the effects of the education program for traffic safety knowledge of kindergarten children by the integrated activities. By doing this, two groups were compared between the carried out traffic safety education and none. Following questions are suggested to accomplish the aim of this study. 1. What is the effect of the traffic safety education by integrated activities to the traffic safety knowledge of kindergarten? 2. What is the effect of the traffic safety education by integrated activities to the walking-traffic safety knowledge of kindergarten? 3. What is the effect of the traffic safety education by integrated activities to the bike-traffic safety knowledge of kindergarten? 4 What is the effect of the traffic safety education by integrated activities to the auto-traffic safety knowledge of kindergarten? To achieve this purpose, 55 kindergarten children aged 5 were sampled in Seoul-city. They were assigned to the experimental group(30) and control group(25). During experiment for 6-weeks, the experimental group have experienced the integrated activities designed by researcher. On the other hand, the control group have not participated in this program. The evaluation tool of traffic safety knowledge was developed on the basic of traffic attitude test by Nam-gi Sung(1994), safety problem-solving thinking test by Eun-bok Gwak(2000), traffic safety knowledge test by Sun-hee Sook and Hee-jun Park(2002), and child traffic safety guide by the road traffic safety association. Total 20 items were composed of 11sub-items related to walking, 3sub-items to bike, and 6sub-items to automobile. This test tool was revised through several expert meetings and interviews, and conducted 1st, 2nd pre-test and pilot-test to improve the validity of questionnaires. The traffic safety knowledge test was administered to the experimental group and control group for pre-test and post-test. The collected data were analysed frequency, and ANCOVA by SPSSWIN 10.0 programmes. The results of this study are follows: Firstly, the ANCOVA was carried out for both groups to verify the hypothesis of this study. There was a meaningful statistical difference of children's traffic safety knowledge score in the experiment group, but didn't show any difference in the control group. Secondly, the ANCOVA was carried out for both groups to verify the hypotheses of this study. There were a meaningful statistical differences of children's walking, bike and automobile traffic safety knowledge score in the experiment group, but didn't show any difference in the control group. Therefore, it could be said that the integrated traffic safety knowledge curriculum was very effective for the traffic safety knowledge including walking, bike, automobile of kindergarten children. and this results will be made available as the basic information for filed-centered kindergarten teachers.

;본 연구의 목적은 유치원 교통안전 교육을 통합적 활동을 통한 교육으로 재편하여,그 과정을 경험한 유아들과 경험하지 않은 유아들의 교통안전지식 수준을 비교하여 봄으로써 통합적 활동을 통한 유아 교통안전교육 프로그램의 효과를 알아보는 것이다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 다음과 같은 연구문제를 설정하였다. 1. 통합적 활동을 통한 유치원 교통안전 교육이 유아의 교통안전지식에 미치는 영향은 어떠한가? 2. 통합적 활동을 통한 유치원 교통안전 교육이 유아의 보행 교통안전지식에 미치는 영향은 어떠한가? 3. 통합적 활동을 통한 유치원 교통안전 교육이 유아의 자전거 교통안전지식에 미치는 영향은 어떠한가? 4. 통합적 활동을 통한 유치원 교통안전 교육이 유아의 자동차 교통안전지식에 미치는 영향은 어떠한가? 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 서울특별시 도봉구에 소재한 S유치원 만5세 원아 55명을 연구대상으로 선정하여 실험집단 30명과 통제집단 25명으로 연구를 실시하였다. 6주의 실험기간 동안 실험집단은 연구자가 계획한 교통안전 교육을 위한 통합적 활동을 경험하도록 하였고, 통제집단의 유아들은 연구기간동안 특별히 통합적 교통안전교육활동에 참여하지 않고, 다만 일상적인 유치원 교육과정을 그대로 이수하였다. 실험처치용 교통안전 프로그램은 유아의 발달수준에 적합하며 제6차 유치원 교육과정과 도로교통안전 관리공단 활동을 참고로 통합적인 활동으로 계획되었다. 교통안전지식 수준 검사도구는 송남기(1994)의 유아 교통태도에 관한 검사도구, 곽은복(2000), 선희숙(2001)의 유아 교통안전지식 검사도구, 박희준(2002)의 유아 교통안전 문제해결사고 검사도구, 최근 도로 교통안전 관리공단(2001)과 한국생활안전 연합에서 발간한 유아 교통안전 지도서(2003)를 참고하여 연구자가 직접 개발한 것으로, 보행자 교통안전지식 11문항, 자전거 교통안전지식 3문항, 자동차 교통안전지식 6문항 등 총 20문항으로 구성되었고 각 문항은 지문과 그림을 함께 사용하여 구성하였다. 교통안전지식 검사는 통제집단과 실험집단의 사전조사와 사후조사를 통해 이루어졌으며, 수집된 데이터는 SPSSWIN 10.0 프로그램을 이용하여 빈도, 백분율, 분포의 특성분석, ANCOVA를 실시하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 통합적 활동을 통한 유치원 교통안전교육이 유아의 교통안전지식에 미치는 영향이 어떠한가를 알아보기 위하여 교통안전 사전조사 점수를 공변인으로 하여 ANC- OVA를 실시한 결과 실험집단과 통제집단간에 유의미한 교통안전지식 점수의 차이를 보였다. 둘째, 통합적 활동을 통한 유치원 교통안전교육이 유아의 보행, 자전거, 자동차 교통안전지식에 미치는 영향이 어떠한가를 알아보기 위하여 교통안전 사전조사 점수를 공변인으로 하여 ANCOVA를 실시한 결과 실험집단과 통제집단간에 유아의 보행, 자전거, 자동차 교통안전지식 점수의 차이를 보여 연구자가 개발한 교육안전 활동이 유아의 보행 교통안전지식에 영향을 끼쳤음을 알 수 있었다. 따라서, 통합적 활동을 통한 유치원의 교통안전 교육활동연구는 유아의 교통안전지식 수준과 그 하위영역인 보행자, 자전거, 자동차 교통안전지식 모두에 큰 효과가 있었음을 알 수 있었다. 앞으로 다양한 유형의 통합적 교통안전 교육활동이 유치원 현장에 적용되어 유아의 교통안전지식을 함양할 수 있도록 활성화 하여야 할 것이다.
