확장성 있는 네트워크 이동성 지원 방안

Abstract

최근 소형 하드웨어 제작 기술과 무선 통신 기술이 발달함에 따라, 버스나 기차 등의 운송 수단 내에서도 다수의 컴퓨팅 단말들을 두고 이동하면서도 인터넷 사용을 지속할 수 있도록 하는 것이 매우 현실성 높은 일로 다가오고 있다 이동 네트워크란 이와 같은 환경에서 운송 수단 내의 컴퓨팅 단말들에게 효율적인 인터넷 접속을 제공하기 위해 이들을 네트워크로 연결하고 하나의 공동 접속점인 이동 라우터를 통해 인터넷에 접속할 수 있도록 한 것이다. 네트워크 이동성 지원이란 운송 수단의 이동에 따라 이와 같은 이동 네트워크가 하나의 단위로 움직일 때 인터넷 접속을 지속적으로 유지할 수 있도록 지원하는 것을 말한다. IETF에서는 네트워크 이동성 지원 프로토콜에 대한 연구를 목적으로 2002년 NEMO (NEtwork Mobility) 워킹그룹을 만들었으며 현재 몇 가지의 네트워크 이 동성 지원 프로토콜들이 제안된 바 있다. 그러나 아직까지 네트워크 이동성 지원에 관한 연구는 국내외적으로 매우 초기 단계에 있어 현재 제안되어 있는 프로토콜들로는 IBTF의 NEMO 워킹그룹이 제시한 네트워크 이동성 지원의 요구사항을 효율적으로 만족시키기에 여러 가지로 부적합한 면이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이런 기존의 네트워크 이동성 지원 방안들에 대한 문제점을 분석하여 보다 일반적언 상황에 대처할 수 있는 확장성 있는 네트워크 이동성 지원 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 특히 이동 네트워크가 중첩된 상황애서 발생하는 비효율적인 라우팅 문제를 해결하고, 이동 네트워크 내에 이동 노드의 수가 증가하는 경우에도 핸드오프로 인한 영향을 최소화 할 수 있는 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

;Due to the recent advances in hardware miniaturization as we13 as the improvement of wireless communication technologies, it became more feasible to carry various computing devices within transporting means such as buses or trains and continue Internet access while the transporting means moves around. A mobile network is a network connecting all the computing equipments within a vehicle to provide a single point of attachment to the Internet. Supporting network mobility means enabling a network to maintain its Internet connectivity while it moves as a single moving unit. In 2002, IETF, which is the organization of Internet protocol standardization, had launched a NEtwork Mobility (NEMO) working group in order to deal with the specific issues that the network mobility raises. Until now, there have been several protocols proposed for the network mobility support. However, none of these proposed solutions satisfy the entire requirements with a desired level of efficiency and scalability as they are defined by the NEMO working group. This thesis proposes more general network mobility supporting scheme through analysis of current scheme's problems. Especially, this thesis focuses solving inefficient routing problem in nested mobility environment and minimizing handoff latency.
