사이버시대의 새로운 커뮤니케이션 도구 이모티콘 디자인 연구

Abstract

인간이 사용하는 상징, 기호 등 무언가를 의미하고자 하는 모든 것은 오늘날 우리의 문화 또는 운명이라는 것을 가능하게 해왔다. 컴퓨터와 네트윅 발달로 PC통신, 인터넷, 휴대폰의 활용이 실생활이 되면서 문자서비스, 메신져등의 다양한 커뮤니케이션 도구가 생겨났다. 온라인 상에서 매체의 선택에 따라 원하는 사람과의 의사소통이 시간과 장소를 가릴 필요 없이 가능하게 되었다. 이러한 사이버 공간에서 비언어적 메시지 전달의 한계를 극복하기 위해 등장한 것이 이모티콘이다. 이모티콘은 감정언어로서 얼굴에 나타나는 감정을 전달하는데 치중하고 있다. 이는 사이버 시대의 커뮤니케이션을 보다 풍부하게 해줄 새로운 도구인 것이다. 우리는 급변하는 사이버 시대를 이해하기 위해서는 새로운 커뮤니케이션 경향에 대한 분석과 연구가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 젊은 세대들이 소위 이모티콘(emoticon)이라 부르며 단순히 시각적 즐거움을 위해 부가적으로 사용하고 있는 문자와 그림의 개념과 유형에 대해 알아보았다. 또한 이러한 이모티콘을 다양한 시각적 표현과 그에 따른 활용 가능성에 대해 알아보고, 표현해 보고자 한다.

;Everything trying to mean something such as symbols, signs and so on used by man has made possible so-called modern people's culture or fate. Their using PC communications and the Internet owing to the development of computers and network and also cell phones in actual lives resulted in various communication instruments such as character service, messenger and so on. Communication with their favorite people according to choices of media on line has been made possible beyond time and space. It is emoticon that has appeared in order to overcome the limitations of nonverbal messages conveyed in such cyberspace. As an emotional language, it focuses on conveying the emotion shown on face. It is a new instrument to have communication in the cyber times more abundant. We need to analyze and study a tendency to new communication so as to understand the rapidly changing cyber times. This study explored the concepts and types of character and picture called emoticon and additionally used simply for visual pleasure by the younger generation. And it also tried to explore and express various visual expressions for the emoticon and utilizability according to them.
