社會事業實習經驗에 대한 學生의 評價

Abstract

사회사업은 실천학문이므로 사회사업 교육에 있어서 실습의 위치는 매우 중요하다. 즉 실습을 통하여, 전문적 지식과 실천기술이 부족한 학생들은 사회사업 실천에 있어서 요구되는 지식과 기술을 전달받게 되는데 이 지식과 기술의 전달활동이 곧 실습지도인 것이다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 이러한 교육적 활동으로서의 실습지도의 중요성을 인식하여 사회사업 지관실습에 있어서 실습지도자와의 실습경험에 대한 현황을 파악하고, 여기에서 나타난 문제점과 원인을 밝히어 사회사업 실습교육의 개선방안을 모색해 보고자 하였다. 연구방법은 실습지도에 관한 관계문헌의 참고와 질문지에 의한 조사를 행하였으며, 질문지의 내용은 실습생과 실습지도자의 배경사항(성별, 실습경험, 교육배경, 학력, 실무경력 등)과 실습에 있어서의 학생의 태도(전반적 태도와 실습기회 활용과 관련된 태도) 그리고 실습지도자의 전문적 자질 및 태도(지도 내용, 능력, 태도)등과 학생의 만족감과의 관련성을 알아보는 것이었다. 조사대상은 실습경험이 있고, 접근이 용이한 서울시내 5개대학 사회사업학과 4학년학생 총 106명이었으며 그중 실제로 자료를 제공해 준 학생은 90명이었다. 그러나 제공된 정보가 미비한 경우 9명은 조사대상에서 제외되었기 때문에 나머지 81명만이 자료의 출처가 되었다. 결론적으로 제안한 내용은 다음과 같다. 실습생은 출결석, 기록과 과제물 제출면 등에서의 성실한 태도와 실습상황에의 적극적인 참여자세로 실습기회를 충분히 활용할 줄 알아야 하겠다. 실습지도는 사회사업을 전공하고 실무경력이 많은 실습지도자가 담당하는 것이 바람직하다 하겠다. 즉 풍부한 사회사업 전문지식과 경험을 소유한 이가 실습지도를 함으로서 실습상황에서 요구되는 전문지식과 기술을 실습생에게 충분히 전달해 줄 뿐만아니라 그러므로서 학생은 실습에 보다 만족하게 될 것이고 나아가서 실습의 효과도 클 수 있기 때문에 이러한 실습지도자의 교육배경과 실무경력은 중요한 요소로 간주할 수 있으리라고 본다. 또한 실습지도자는 학생이 실습기회를 충분히 활용할 수 있도록 자유로운 학습분위기를 조성해 주며, 사례, 기록면에 있어서 실습생의 수준과 능력에 맞는 적절한 요구와 기대를 하고, 나아가서 실습생의 학습향상에 많은 관심을 기울여야 하겠으며, 실습에 관해 토론하고 학습하는 기회 또한 충분히 제공하여야 하겠다. 그리고 사회사업 기관당국의 실습업무에의 보다 많은 관심과 지지가 요망되는데 이러한 기관당국의 배려는 실습지도자로 하여금 실습지도에 많은 시간을 할애할 수 있도록 할 것이며, 실습에의 보다 많은 관심을 기울임으로써 실습의 효과도 크리라고 간주된다. 또한 학교 당국에서도 학생들로 하여금 실습에 흥미와 관심을 갖고 적극적으로 참여하며, 실습기회를 충분히 활용할 수 있도록 실습지 선정에서 뿐만아니라 전반적 실습에의 세심한 배려야 있어야 하겠으며, 특별히 실습지의 부족과 한정문제와 관려하여 학교, 기관 나아가서 사회사업가 협의회 등의 공동협력하에 그 해결방안을 모색해 보도록 함이 요망되어 진다.;The role of practice is of primary important in social work education. Through field work practice theoretical knowledge and learned wills are combined on a practical level so that the student may transfer classroom education to practical education. In this context, the activities related, to this transmission of knowledge and skills is called supervision. The importance of supervision as an educational tool cannot be understated. The purpose of this paper is twofold; first, to evaluate and investigate the present situation of practice conducted at the social work agencies with special reference to the supervisor's experience and second, therby, to suggest guidelines for improving the quality of practice in social work education by examining various problems which confront practice today. For this purpose, a sample survey questionaire was conducted and a survey of the literature in the field was made. The questionaire contains such questions as general information regarding the background of both the student and supervisor, student's attitudes, professional qualifications and attitudes of the supervisor and the degree of satisfaction of the students. The purpose of the questionaire was to analyze the relationship between the limited variables listed above. Senior students majoring in social work at universities and collages in Seoul were selected as the sample coverage of the study. Among 106 students surveyed, 90 students responded to the questionaire and of these 81 students formed the basis on which this study was made. As a result of tale study and the subsequent analysis the following suggestions were made, First, the field work student should utilize the opportunity of practice with a responsibility for attendance and submitting reports and recording, and showing initiative and interest in participating in the practical situation. Secondly, among other factors, the supervisor's qualifications were the most significant factor which determines the effectiveness of the practical exercise as an educational activity. Consequently, it is recommended that the supervisor be a person who has majored in social work and has sufficient practical experiences. This is particulary important because a qualified supervisor is equipped with the basic social work knowledge and skills which are required as a basis for practice. The quality of the students' practice and the satisfaction of the student in his field work experience is directly related to the ability of the supervisor. Thirdly, more attention should be paid to the role of supervision in practice; to provide an educational environment in which the students can grow and mature in their use of skills, to assign the case study which, is in accord with the student's ability, to pay more attention to the educational improvement and development of each and every student and to allocate sufficient time for discussion and evaluation of the practical experience as it relates to the student's practice. Fourthly, social work agencies should be more aware of and devote more energy to field work practice as an educational tool. The supervisor should allocate more time for the guidance and instruction of the student (s) in order to maximize the effects of the practical exercise. Finally, the university should give more attention to field work practice as an educational activity and, therby increase the interest and the satisfaction of the students in the practical experience of social work. The selection of the institutions for practice is of crucial concern. With the cooperation of the schools, social work agencies and the council for social workers the short comings and limitations of the present field work program can be eliminated in order to achieve a higher level of field work supervison.
