dc.description.abstractThe main study of this paper is investigation of charge transfer complex of trichloroacetic acid and antimony trichloride with β-carotene in carbon tetrachloride and methylene chloride solution. A spectrophotometric method has been used to the detect of characteristic band of the complex in near infrared and visible zone. This paper obtained the main peak of complex at 1020mμ and observed the shift of peak in various concentration of acid. Increasing the concentration of acid, the peaks was shifted visible zone. The characteristic shifted peaks of complexes are 585mμ, 640mμ, 780mμ, and 920mμ. From each characteristic peak, calculated the absorptivity and equilibrium constant by Benesi-Hildebrand method. And Carr-Price reaction mechanism was explained from the data of band shift in concentrated antimonytrichloride solution.-
